Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PC/PS4/XB1) [Update: Big images in OP]

How was DXHR advertised prerelease? I would love a straight up sequel to it but this looks like any other FPS right now. I realize these are bullshots but square enix has a way of crushing people's dreams with their good IP's so I'm kind of leery about it.

Here's another reason to be mad at Nintendo over Amiibo.

I missed this thread putting time in the Amiibo thread.

I was NOT expecting this!

I have barely started Human Revolution but of what I have played, I am happy to see a sequel announced. And I love the title Mankind Divided. Sounds super cool. Though the art looks a lot like Human Revolution.

But something tells me I should stay out of this thread if I don't wanna be spoiled.

I never asked for a direct sequel. hmmm

The canon is probably Jensen pressing one of the magic ending buttons and it not working. Maybe there was a power cut or smthng.

im starting to not like this Sarif guy again...hahah lol

Darrow is the the brains behind human augmentation and sarif just profits off of it

Cyberpunk galore. YESSS very very very happy. But Jensen was dead. He blow up the dam. Probably they searched the waters and stiched him back together or something... happy :)

Cross-posting GI details:

The original Deus Ex is one of the most critically acclaimed shooter/RPG hybrids of all-time. In 2011, Eidos-Montreal resurrected the dormant franchise with Human Revolution, giving the series an updated look while remaining true to the player choice-driven gameplay. Eidos-Montreal knew its game wasn’t perfect, and has worked to improve the series' combat systems and boss encounters for the latest entry in the series – Mankind Divided.

Set in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution, Adam Jensen returns and joins forces with an Interpol-funded task force aiming to hunt down and capture augmented terrorists in a world that now hates and fears transhumans. Jensen has a new suite of augmentations that allow him to cleverly navigate stealth, combat, and social interactions, but how Jensen chooses to solve every problem is entirely up to you.

At the end of Human Revolution, the Illuminati caused every transhuman to go into a fight-or-flight response and attack anyone near them. In the next issue of Game Informer, you can find out how this event caused humanity to hate and fear those with augmentations. We spent two days in Eidos-Montreal's studio, talking with the team and learning about how they build a realistic future. We go in depth on some of Jensen's new augmentations that help improve the stealth and combat systems, such as the ability to remote hack electronic objects, fire off his nano blade from a distance, and surround himself with a nearly indestructible nanoshield. We also got some great examples on how the game will be as open ended as ever, allowing players to carve their own path through the world. You can only get these details in the latest issue of Game Informer.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided doesn't yet have a release date, but it's headed to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Wait... so this is Deus Ex 4? Oh shit.

Really hope it's more like an evolution of Human Revolution (or ideally more like Deus Ex 1) in terms of gameplay and doesn't end up like new THIEF. HR isn't on the same level as DX1 or the other old immersive sims, it's still more simplified by modern conventions, but it understands what fundamentally makes Deus Ex, Deus Ex. I hope Eidos Montreal hasn't been pressured to change that.

Also, I'm willing to bet those guards in the first screenshot with Jensen are NSF. Maybe this will be a story about how hostilities with the NSF and other groups (what was that French group called?) really flare up? By the beginning of DX1, the world is already in chaos. This game could be how it got to that state.

Ridiculously excited for this. Human Revolution was one of my favourite games last generation and a really nice surprise.

Can't believe so many people like McCann's music. Brandon and van den Bos or bust.

Pleasantly surprised to see Jensen back, though. Not that another new guy wouldn't have been fun too, but given what happened the last time the series had a direct sequel, I'm okay with them sticking with a known quantity.

I hope the towns are much larger. The DEx reboot appears to have been a success, so maybe the production values will be higher this time around.
I actually liked the size of the hub areas. Smallish but felt packed with detail and stuff to do. I'd like to see several areas with that level of polish instead of big for the sake of big.

I hope my bro Pritchard and my sis Malik return too. You can't have a DX:HR sequel without 'em. I want them pasive-agressive wits battle between Jensen and Pritchard.

I like what I see from the screens except for the 3rd person cover. I really dislike 1st to third person transitions in games.

I haven't played HR all the way through (made it to the second hub) or the original yet. Should I play the original first or HR? Does it really matter?

Screenshots with a couple guns in them. People already having pre-meltdowns over how they dumbed-down Deus Ex and made it a linear corridor shooter.

I hope those are just the dudebro-friendly promo shots because it looks like a shooter. I guess they are but still, SE and all.
