Baby Park is Real (MK 8 DLC)

Just the other day I was watching videos of Ribbon Road thinking "this is too bland for MK8". They sure shut me up. Best track remake bar none.

I can't wait to see the pile-ups on Baby Park at 200cc.

Between the last pack and this one can we safely say best value proposition for dlc ever? And in my opinion, best dlc ever!

Maaaaaaybe. But if you're measuring based on time vs. money, I'd have to go with Hyrule Warriors ($20 for basically hundreds of hours of content). However, MK's DLC is certainly something special, and I hope this has been a big enough success that Nintendo continues this. Of course, if the quality wasn't there, then this would be terrible. But the attention to detail in these courses has been almost unbelievable. I hope everyone on the MK8 team gets a promotion.

The love and effort put into this game continues to show.

Ribbon Road finally returning alone makes me the happiest panda. More F-Zero love is also nice surprise.

Plus, I'm getting some major Ghibli vibes from Nature Road. That music is something else. The look of the course is just begging to be explored in a 3D Mario.

For their next console launch, they should just release an updated version of this game with more characters, more tracks, all of the DLC, and 1080p. I'd buy it.
i doubt it would have more characters or tracks though, it doesn't need them, just all dlc content and characters at 1080p/60fps would be "good enough" supposing more dlc is not planned yet.

Yeah, please keep pumping out these packs.

Not a fan of baby park...the track looks ridiculously wide. [ohhhh, THAT track? :/]

Anyways, definitely getting the pack, won't turn down more MK, especially now that 200cc is coming.

Now to find my wiiu cables.

I'm less interested in Baby Park (Hopefully it still has 5 laps) as I am with the detail they put in these courses. My god. It makes me wish I could get out of my kart and look around in first person. There's so much detail.

I hope they do another 2 pack of DLC next year too.

As bummed out as I am that they even chose Baby Park (outside of the amazing decor on the outside, why couldn't they have just made that the track gosh darn it), being 7 laps with 12 racers means there's ample opportunity for the track to fill up with junk and being anti-grav ought to make it way too easy to hit stuff...

I can't also stop hearing Big Blue remix. What the hell is SO GOOD! Those musicians outdid themselves this time. It sounds like an epic progressive rock song. Seriously if the update doesn't come with sound options to pump it up the volume for the music I will cry for 23 days straight.

I don't even care about the track in Baby Park. I just want to visit that amusement park.

Also, they don't even need to make a new F-Zero. Just keep releasing MK8 DLC packs with one F-Zero track each time and it'll be fine.

I think they need to do a Star Fox track with Fox as a playable character. It could take place on Corneria and could look amazing. Release it as a tie-in for the new Star Fox game.

Do it, Nintendo.

Then do a Metroid pack.

Then a Pikmin one. (That could be fucking amazing. Driving around all shrunken down around dirt tracks in the forest.)

Of all things.. you want a narrow Baby Park?
literally, whatswrongwithyou.gif?

The new racecar is called the P-Wing. I wonder how it stats are going to spread out. It will probably have enhanced air speed, but all the other karts with good air speed have had terrible ground speed. Hopefully this one will be unique.

This is pretty awesome, but I really wish they would give battle mode some love. Battle mode without proper arena tracks (block fort says "hi") was the worst idea ever. I used to play with friends and family all the time in battle mode but that mode is literally trash in MK8 and it's a shame.

That being said any new content is welcome, the prices for the last bundle was awesome.

Cranky Kong with the Crocodile Isle track. Starts in his museum and then proceeds across the entire island. It's a Mount Wario-style level and takes 20 minutes to complete.

If they ever had a 20 minute track I would probably buy it. No joke, Baja 500 style stuff would be awesome.

I miss three lap Rainbow Road 64. That was the real iron man challenge. The part that really sucks about it in Mario Kart 8 is that now there are enough track dynamics to make the whole thing an engaging long length course but there's no 3 lap option... :(

I think two laps would've been the sweet spot, imo

This is OT but why are the comments disabled on the videos in the OP and why does it seem all Japanese language YouTube vids by most video game companies have comments disabled? Are comments passe in Japan or do they just have a really bad troll problem?

Man Double Dash was always a rough game to look at but this head to head is just making it even more apparent just how much time has passed between the two games.

Every Mario Kart has looked like dogshit barftown since the original with the Mode 7 spinning. MK8 bucked the trend in spectacular fashion.

OH GOD IT ENDED UP BEING REAL

OH MY GOD BABY PARK AND NEO BOWSER CITY

OH MY GOOODDDDDD RIBBON LAND AND THE FOREST STAGE LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL

I hope there's more DLC because we still don't have Bowser Jr.

Watch packs 3 and 4 include Tanooki Luigi, Cat Toad, Metal Baby Mario, and Pink Gold Baby Peach.

Still haven't played DLC 1, promised myself I'd wait til both were released and enjoy it as a massive expansion to the game. Now all this and 200cc mode it's really like Mario Kart 8.5 for $13 (hey bungie pay attention)

The Facebook video of 200cc Mute City Nintendo posted April 1st features no music, only sound effects. I wonder if that means the update does include the sound options we all want so much!

edit: this video, now in 60fps

I would pay the money for Cat Toad.
