I know mods can sometimes let things slide for people who have enough rep but I think this rumor needs vetting.

but I guess we'll find out next week anyway.

MS may have a lot of money, but I bet the Xbox Division can't use it all. They probably can't even use the money from MS main branch, just the money from their division.

I agree, Xbox does not have an endless stream of money just because they're part of MS they have make money on their own otherwise they will end up being more of a burden than money maker for MS. If that happens the chances of Xbox getting sold off or shut down increase which I doubt anybody wants to happen.

I don't think mods always vet each and every rumor as long as the poster is deemed to be credible.

This one isn't too earth-shattering either and we have two people suggesting that it might be true.

ID@Xbox
Titanfall textures

Anything else I've missed? He's not reliable for a long time.

So because he got some more recent things wrong in a time where MS was changing their policies like underwear and Respawn was being cagey about resolution until cboat's comment forced them to respond is 'not being reliable for a long time'? Ok. Love you until they leave you I guess.

I missed that one, what did he say about ID@Xbox?

Iirc, he said it would only use the OS/app side of the Xbox One, which turned out to be incorrect.

Well over a year is a pretty long time? His recent stuff has all been pretty much garbage anyway. Im not disputing his record previous to that, but recently he's not been reliable.

What about his numerous false E3 claims? He got a lot of stuff wrong. What was his huge Megaton we were supposed to witness?

Maybe MS has enough in their hands to market and feel they got most of the cod fanbase on its platform already. Some sort of Gears game rumored , AC victory, halo, forza and tomb raider, division but likely delayed

Yeah, I don't think MS has much of a say here.

Activision, EA and friends want to get paid AND have the platform marketing drive maximum sales. It's not rocket science.

Third party devs in effect are going to decide the generation this holiday.

Call of Duty had years of Xbox marketing. I honestly don't think is too damaging for Microsoft to loose that because the long effect of Xbox - CoD association don't disappear instantly.

ps: If Sony secure timed exclusive DLC, then would be a more significant loss.

A big thing at e3 would be EA access being announced for the Sony platform

In regards to COD, I'm pretty sure Microsoft would spend as much money as possible to keep it, besides, didn't they just re-up their contract with Activision when Ghosts came out?

I think EA Access is staying only on Xbox after that whole "You can play Battlefront on Xbox first!" thing. Would be weird to say that if EA Access is coming to PS4.

Well that would be up to Sony to change their minds, I can care less about sport games, but I'm sure some would enjoy it on their platform of choice

It's a strange situation. Battlefront marketing associated with PS4 and Xbox One owners playing first.

Yup, 100% this. Even now the CoD crowd is already heavy on the Xbox side. Of they lost the marketing and Sony picking it up would still be beneficial for MS and Activision without the cost. They would have to get the dlc deal for it to be worth it and get the CoD players to even consider going over (and even then only the hardcore, the rest will just wait a month) . it's so engrained that the Xbox and CoD go hand in hand.

If Sony pays for timed DLC, then just like I said with MS, that would be a waste of money.

This will sure cause a Fallout for Microsoft.
But damn. and I know nothing lol
You got that right, I don't want Microsoft backed into a corner and they go getting 6 month early exclusive rights to... Fallout

Because I wouldn't have the patience to wait for the ps4 version and would have to pick up a copy for the x1

I think if MS had any exclusivity on Fallout 4 we would know already tbh.

And by know I mean they would have paraded it at an event and made sure the whole world knew

Idk if they could handle waiting a month after getting special treatment for so long. The meltdowns people had when Destiny got exclusive content for ps4 instead of Microsoft...that was a rough time to be on Bungie's site that's for sure. People felt wronged and betrayed

I'm going to have to politely disagree with you on that. Bethesda is having their own conference this year, we are not going to know nothing until that day. At least my gut is 84% sure of that.

Not going to happen. I worked at Microsoft up until very recently and it's not as easy as people think to throw cash about in support of Xbox One. The company is huge, with tonnes of different divisions, all with different agendas, even in the same division. Getting backed into a corner and lashing out with money just won't be possible if there isn't enough support of such a move, especially with how expensive a Fallout/timed exclusive deal would be.

I don't know. The fact that they have a conference suggests that no such exclusivity is at play.

I guess we'll find out for sure depending on the schedule. If MS is after Bethesda or before would easily clear it up.

Why would Bethesda accept any sort of exclusivity? That game is going to make money hand over foot.

EDIT: I'm not talking about DLC. I'm talking about full exclusivity.

He could mean DLC early exclusivity or Marketing exclusivity. The marketing one is palpable to a publisher because it's someone else footing the bill to get ads on TV and other media. The game still makes a ton of money and even more profit since you don't have to spend any on marketing.

They did for Skyrim, and if I recall the 360 had timed exclusive DLC. The big difference this time around is when Skyrim launched the 360 had around an 8 million lead in userbase AND was buying more games (attach rate wise) because the PS3 still had a portion of its userbase that used it as a blue-ray/Netflix machine.

If Fallout releases this year the PS4 will likely have over a 50% marketshare WW and close to double the userbase of the XB1.

Oh boy, I cant wait for E3 and Gamescom to see what Sony has up their sleeves for this Holidays. If they decide to do an UC Collection + $300 PS4 bundle, then I'm not sure Halo can carry MS through the holidays :p

Not surprised at PS4, Battlefield:H sales but Mario Kart 10 making the charts at #4 got me. I would love to see Splatoon making the charts in the future but that will be a tougher sell without the Mario brand power.

I believe any company is open for any deal, it's only a matter of $$$

Fallout 4 full exclusive is very expensive, I don't see happening specially with Xbox One behind, but timed exclusive is possible.

Even a timed exclusive would be very expensive for that game.

Still extremely unlikely. Tomb Raider will be looked at as anomaly when the generation is over.

Certainly, but if Microsoft paid for full Titanfall console exclusive, it's not out of question to think they can pay for timed exclusive Fallout 4.

Titanfall was a new IP that EA wouldn't even give the necessary funding. I don't really know anything about Fallout, but every one talks like it is Skyrim caliber.

I wonder which Nintendo developer has the most fans... "pulling them from different directions". If you know what I mean.

For Int Sys, there's vocal groups for Advance Wars and Paper Mario especially. Then maybe Wario games. FE seems satiated. Kirby RPG?

For Next Level Games, there's Mario Strikers, Punch Out, LM2 for Wii U...?

For Retro, theres Metroid, new IP that is perfect in every way imagineable, help with/make Zelda, and more Donkey Kong

For Game Freak, there's Pokemon Stadium, Console Pokemon game, or a handheld pokemon but more open/3D, more pkmn stuff

And then the EAD groups with all the dormant IPs...

Just thinking outloud

From your lists I want Advance Wars, Paper Mario (like the Gamecube one), Punch Out, and Metroid for sure.
