Went ahead and finished Combiner Wars Superion, he was the one combiner I wanted the most when I was younger so I'm very pleased with him:

Seeing Superion there brings back memories of when my father bought me the full set once as a surprise. It was like Christmas and best of all...it was summer.

Every time something happened to one of them I remember how heart broken I felt.

I treasured them greatly.

Have any of you been watching the new Transformers TV show on Cartoon Network? Is it any good?

Halfway through the first season, I'd be hard pressed to say "it's good". It might get better, but so far that doesn't seem likely. It's a basic monster-of-the-week show for kids, dealing with some simple team-dynamic problems coming from a set of basic characters.

On the plus side, it doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong. Aside from maybe Fixit. It kind of seems like the show's trying to play his speech impediment for laughs, but it's not funny.

Best joke so far? "We're with the Hazardous Utility Bureau." Get it?
They're with the HUB. It was probably kind of cute when they wrote that line a few months ago, but it's a dated reference now. I heard you like nostalgia, so we put nostalgia in your nostalgia, and now you feel super old.

Like the Combiner Wars Superion, only real negative to me is the thighs being so skinny and they also don't allow for much posing, each click of the thigh joint moves the legs too far to be stable.

So looks like they went and nerfed some of the pricing on objects in Battle Tactics to not need as many coms, also in general it seems like drop rates were increased greatly on all coms. Stuff I couldn't afford before now is like half the cost or more in coms and during events the coms are also dropping left and right. This has my hopes up, as the previous grinds were ridiculous and its a fairly enjoyable little game still.

I literally have my tablet on my lap playing this right now! It's quite a great game to have on and playing while you are doing other things, like FFRK. There's an Insecticon event right now, building Kickback and hopefully my guild (sorry, "league") will place high enough to get components for Shrapnel (sorry, "Skrapnel").

It becomes quite tactical once you climb the PvP ladder and people start using Focus II or Block II...

I finally bought the MP 10u KO.

Normally I hate buying KO's, but I really do hope Takara eventually come out with a Limited Ultra Magnus run as I'd love to have an official version.

Mp 10 u finally arrived. Certainly not as good as an original TaKara but good enough when nothing else is avalible.

Plus Magnus colors look way better then the year of the horse.

I stil resent the dead eyes on the Takara MP-10. I have no clue how that got through. The rest of the deco is perfect, but the eyes just don't work at all.

Yeah I know multiple people I know that have done issues with the Takara release.

The colors on Magnus are perfect. Green and baby blues look great. He has some auburn Metallic eyes, new but good.

I have MP-1 Prime... I have MP-10 2nd issue on preorder... Should I get him if I already have MP-1? I heard he is more in line with the more recent MP figures in terms of height and proportions...

What should I do?

Absolutely. I was unsure about it when I first was buying it a few years ago, but when I got it in my hands I fell in love. What it lacks in size and heft, it more than makes up for in possibility and sculpt quality. It's absolutely gorgeous looking and captures the heroic look of Optimus much better than MP-01. I find the transformation to be a lot more fun as well.

While I agree you should keep it, I will say it's not as cut and dry as this though.

I know several people who prefer MP 1, it really comes down to wether you want Prime to be the most imposing figure on your shelf.

With MP 10 it's smaller and lacks presence of 01, but the quality is a bit higher and he can actually scale unlike 01.

MP-1 has impressive size and presence. He makes a great centerpiece. Compared to modern figures, though, he just sticks out. He's just not all that fun and his proportions are all sorts of wonky. He also has that dumb problem where one of the chest doors seems to sag on most figures.

I think both have their place, but MP-10 is something that's so good I'd classify him as a must own for every TF fan that can get him. MP-01 is more of a thing to own because he has some great history to him and can make a really good display piece on a shelf.

Fair enough. I own three of the 01's and now with Magnus I have two MP 10's sitting on my work desk so I tend to look at them both equally.

Except the awful orange Hasbro one.....seriously fuck that thing,

I bought one of those hasbro ones on the cheap to cannibalize the ankle joint. Needed it to fix a broken MP-4 that fell off the shelf. It sucks. It's permanently in truck mode pulling MP-4's trailer, and it looks kind of OK there, but otherwise it's one of the worst decos hasbro has ever perpetrated on a figure.

I got a question, I was looking at my MP Prowl and I noticed that the L on POLICE on one of his doors isn't as pure white as the rest of the letters. (It's very, very, very minor and when I took a photo of it, it doesn't even show up), but I'm wondering if anyone else has had something like that? Like whenever I look at Prowl, I can't not notice the slightly off coloration on the L.

MP 10 all the way for me. Its amazing figure that looks like exactly what I expect Optimus to look like, and looks perfect in truck mode.

MP 1, in my opinion. looks awful in truck mode. But he does have awesome "hidden" features, like the video chat thing on his arm.

You added that logo the chest correct? I got sheets of repro labels either way heh.

Recently learned that two of the aerial bots guns attach to the sides of the thighs, it really does help visually the whole thing as it kinda fixes the look of the legs being too skinny around the thigh area.

So as I'm sure some here know, MP-23 is Exhaust, a repaint of Wheeljack based on an original Diaclone toy of the Wheeljack mold that was painted up like a Marlboro race car. When MP-23 was shown with its fake Marlboro deco, Philip Morris sent warning that they'd take legal action against US stores that sold it, as they considered it too close to the real thing (there are strict laws about selling toys with cigarette references in the US). Almost all the online retailers canceled their preorders, but TFSource kept theirs up. They shipped Exhaust out last week, and people started to receive theirs yesterday, only to discover...

TFSource opened every one of them and had someone repaint the red part to no longer look like the Marlboro branding. You can return it for a full refund if you want, but the fact that they didn't tell anyone they were doing this means a lot of people (including myself) who would have secured an unaltered one through other means if they'd known have now missed the opportunity to get one at a reasonable price. Japanese retailers are charging over double retail already, probably due to the fact that Western collectors are desperate to get their hands on one.

So thanks for that shady-as-fuck decision, TFSource. You will not be seeing any of my money again.

That is some awful business right there.

Makes me sad as I got Ultra Magnus through them, but with this going on I can't support them again.

Is the original Classics Prime still a good mold? I'm debating getting him and CW Prime and repurposing CW Prime as Ginrai or just getting CW Prime by himself (and still repurposing him)

I really like it. I find the proportions much, much better than CW Prime. CW Prime is still a fun figure, but he doesn't feel like a Prime figure. He feels like Motormaster masquerading as a Prime.

It's old and newer reissues of the mold are prone to some degradation (I know that even by the time UM came out, his arm ratchets weren't really working), but it's such a cool toy.

CW Superion's antenna is the bane of my existence

Have you tried to quick mod them yet? It's really easy. You take apart Superion's head (only one screw) and scrape off the paint from the center bar that connects the antenna. Fixed all the issues I had with it. Sure, it's still the same rubbery plastic, but it will hold straight up and transform back down with no issue.

What a disaster. Thank goodness for being in Canada for a change, maybe I should buy one at work before they all sell out...

It'll be one of the most sought-after figures for quite some time, so I'd say you should. You'll almost certainly be able to sell it for more than you paid for it for years to come if you get tired of it.

It's still one of my favorite Primes, even though I've complained about cheating transformations, and classics prime definitely fits the bill. Takara's Henkei Prime kills the deco of Classics, but looks like you will pay ~$50 more for it ATM.

Actually looking at current prices on both not sure either is really worth it. Yeesh. But that's just me of course!

Holy shit this is pretty disgusting. Now they expect customers to do the extra work of packing it up and sending it back? BS. I can't fathom ever doing this type of thing, or what gives them the right to alter products that way without notification. I mean, people wanted it because of how it looked, not how TFS wanted it to look.

Interesting. I'll look into that.

Anyone ever build one of the D-Style Transformer model kits that Kotobukiya puts out?

KOT11305.jpg

I wanted to get Prime and Megatron, but I hate putting models together, so was just curious how intricate they are, or if they are pretty simple...

I have D-Style Gunbuster and Patlabor 2, and they are very simple. Some parts are pre-painted with details.

Check out Hobby Search for more pictures of runners and instructions: http://www.1999.co.jp/10294593

Girlfriend just put this one together today. A little paint required (mainly on the Matrix), but it seems pretty simple if you have any kind of modeling or Gundam experience.

Haven't put a model together in about 20yrs. Lol. Can you give me an idea on the color paint she used for the Matrix? If I decide to get this I was also going to paint his smoke stacks silver and the front of his legs silver.
