An arcade perfect Virtua Fighter 3 with online play will give the Virtua Fighter community a heart attack. I will definitely lose the plot too and pledge much more money.

The stretch goals are so vague. Arcade games could be included in the "mini games" goals or perhaps the 9.5 million "game stalls," or maybe they aren't listed at all.

Just looking at the Kickstarter page again. They still haven't marked the $4.2 million stretch goal as reached. Will they ever update the reward list table with the new tiers?
And the "What's Shenmue?" section has two small mistakes: "An paralleled level of freedom" (should be "An unparalleled"), and "the birth of the QTE ," has a space before the comma.
Can Awesome Japan be notified of that somehow?

There's just absolutely no way they won't open additional funding after the Kickstarter is over. Surely they've seen the success of games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Star Citizen. By opening up another way of funding after their KS' were over, they accumulated even more than the KS itself. They could easily gather $10M+.

Now I remember just why I loved Shenmue so much. It really transported me to that place. It set the mood. I still fantasise about my ideal house, like that of Ryo's, with that little water feature making that wonderful bamboo clanking sound like a metronome!
1980's Japan is my dream era, I wish I'd grown up there and then, and Shenmue is the main reason why.

In fairness, didn't they briefly have the 4.2 goal marked when they had just reached 4 million?
Also it's only 9:45 AM in Japan right now and it doesn't seem like they work much on the weekend. We'll probably see it updated in the hour or so.
The watch is now available but a 2nd person has backed the $10k LA dinner. Maybe they switched to that.
Nope .... The $300 tier includes the $175 which includes the $160 tier->$120->$100
The $100 has Digital OR Physical not both. Along with the Trial version.

Yeah myself and I presume a hardcore of others would happily fund this game monthly. I would gladly give a few £ a month for a couple of years to really support the game being the best it can be, and strengthen the chance we get more games after this.

If we could somehow make the USD momentarily crash during the last day, that'd be swell. If it was three years ago I'd probably be able to swing the $500 tier.
super impressed the figures only dropped 20k. with the media picking it up now i think we're going to see the numbers hold or increase all over again.

Seeing the dreams of Shenmue fans across the globe just fills me with joy even if I personally have never played any of the games. I want to help as much as I can at this rate we're looking at 5 million in a week or so.

I'm sure SEGA will wise up seeing all the buzz and you'll get the chance to play an HD release of the original games before Shenmue III comes out.

These were so good. Really gave you that sense of time stretching out before you. Dropping you into the 80's in a real way. One of the best designed games, just so thoroughly thought out

But if Sega could manage any old games at all, that'd be amazing. Granted the games would be 30 year old ones Sega's barely doing anything with, but they would be giving away their games to help promote someone else's game. I don't know if anything like that has ever been done in the history of video games.
They should really consider doing add-ons.

Yu Suzuki is a pioneer of modern procedural generation, thats how they fit it on those discs. That, and the audio quality was horrendous. Like 11khz.
Damn, this looks awesome. Pity the timing means this won't be out until the KS is long done. Could have assisted to advertise the KS and overcome more stretch goals to help the game emerge from being Shenmue-Lite.
