Nothing we didn't know unfortunately.

Sony must be excited at the prospects of a Kojima independent from Konami. Hope they give him whatever he wants and needs.

A Kojima outside the games industry would not be the same.

I wanted to make a thread but maybe it isn't warranted so I'll ask about it in here:

How will MGO function? Surely as an online pvp experience it'll need a good flow of patches coming out at the very least for the first 6/8 months. What about it now without a team to work on them? And who knows just how much or how little DLC is done already and what are Konami's plans for that?

Do you guys think Metal Gear Online is basically dead already?

KojiPro LA is going to continue to exist after the anticipated departures of Kojima and the senior staff, so I really doubt anything is going to change for that aspect of MGS5.

I think it depends on how well it does in the period between launch and when Kojima contract's up. If it's successful I'm sure they'll find reasons to throw money at it and keep it alive.

Last Metal Gear I purchase, end of an era. Hopefully Kojima is picked up and has his own team somewhere. I would probably shit a brick if he went to SCEJ or FROM.

Doesn't really bother me.

As much as I love MGS, I don;t think it's anything without him. I have far more interest in what Kojima will produce next than I do with the next MGS without him. He'll land on his crazy, nuclear powered feet and hopefully end up making the games that he wants to make, which can only be good thing. If he really wanted to he could walk straight into any of the three first party companies or pretty much any third party team that he wants to.

True story Kojima actually fixed the relationship of Akio Otsuka and his father Chikao Ohtsuka (played Big Boss) with MGS4.

Don't worry guys. Konami will leave traditional gaming business in 2018, sell the MGS IP to Sony who are giving Kojima full control of it in his new studio - which is part of the WWS. MGS VI will be announced a year later.

Oh... It was just a dream...

If Nintendo was smart they would chase Kojima, get him working on NX games. It wouldn't matter where his audience is, they will follow eventually.

I don’t have any more tears to shed, building the future and keeping the past alive are one and the same thing, you mustn't allow yourself to be chained to fate, to be ruled by your genes. Human beings can choose the kind of life that they want to live. What's important is that you choose life... and then live.

I need scissors 61!
