Here is the strategy we used for HM Oryx, and I don't understand how the no-knights strat is better or safer:

1) 2 Titans are floaters, standing in between the daughters platforms on the ground. Pop a bubble just before Oryx slams, and shred all 4 Ogres with ToM

2) The 3 people on platforms help with their Ogre, but mainly take down their Knight that spawns

3) The second the relic runner has the relic, everyone runs to the middle Titan bubble and just waits for the immunity to get to you. Take no risks. Just wait.

4) Once the relic runner has slammed and gotten to the center, 5 people focus the yellow bar knight, while the 6th person takes down the last red bar knight that was left (in this case, it was a golden-gun hunter that took him down). Tethers and supers also help on the yellow bar.

5) Stagger Oryx. (5 people should be able to stagger him if the 6th is still trying to drop the red bar knight

6) After stagger, spend 10-15 seconds clearing adds.

7) Run to bombs, but try to countdown so everyone enters them simultaneously.

8) rinse and repeat.

I don't understand how letting the Ogres roam, hoping you can drop all 4 at the same time, and jumping down into the shit while knights are roaming is any safer or better

this is how we did it the other day and it's far safer for the runner and the bomb detonators. The only tricky thing is that sometimes knights sneak past and/or run behind the platforms. But on our kill we lost four bombs to knights total and it still took only 1 extra cycle. Not having adds to worry about, or having bombs all over the place is so much easier for timing your detonations and making it back safely.

I think I prefer this strategy, hell have the players on top of daughters platform should kill ogres too. And focus on knights.shall employ this strat this weekend. Thank you

We were 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the last match with mercy and WE LOST somehow ;_;

The next match all three of them were camping with Bad Jujus and the defender titan got a bubble in the first round itself. He fed orbs to others and everyone got their supers in the first round and they just kept.... aaah I'm so depressed. I hate this game.

If you have some low light people they might have trouble taking down their Knights and surviving. Like a 306 trying to do that is gonna have it rough. That's why people were running the alt strat. You have way less opportunities to take damage. Your description of the alt strat also makes it sound like chaos when it's not at all if done properly.

But I agree, once you have people at higher light levels the strat you detailed is the best one IMO.

Question regarding the Halloween event, is there any guaranteed way to get glue? I got 1 during my first legendary chest but hadn't gotten any since.

Not yet as it's not upgraded, but I may use a Jade Rabbit over a hawksaw In this Trials map. We'll see.

Gotcha. Btw if you're on this weekend and I'm on and you need a 3rd for Trials let me know!

At the very least I would love to get to the Lighthouse at least once this year, but otherwise I'd be entirely satisfied with enough wins to get all the packages, or however it is now. Thanks dude.

How did the Defender get a bubble in the first round? Is Bad Juju that good? Was there a lot of Slaying and reviving?

oh yeah, forgot to ask last night but has anyone else just had a random misadventure death during teleport phase on oryx? I was outside, fighting thralls on the left side about halfway from where they spawn to the black bubble. Full hp, character just falls over dead out of nowhere. Didn't get punched by a thrall or do anything that might have caused fall damage, just a random heart attack.

My only theory is related to the fact that the area he teleports people to is directly under the floor, and maybe something could have physics-ed up through the floor at me.

This is a good strategy if you have two titans and people with high level gear to take down the ogres that quickly.
The "easy" strategy people are using is ideal for underleveled people, even if shit can go horribly wrong any second.

Silver is the top seller on PSN store add ons.

As a general skeptic of MTX, I'm actually pretty glad to see this. My hope is that it encourages the kind of stuff we've seen to kick this off. If Bungie generates good will with fun events and free content, and releases cool paid cosmetic stuff along side it, they'll be rolling in [/s]silver[/s] cash monies, and the game will better to boot.

On a related note, it occurred to me that Bungie has actually done a pretty good job with rolling stuff out since TTK launch. The string of unlocked exotic quests and missions (though with the time gated issues this brought up) led into Festival of the Lost, which overlaps with the new Trials. The Festival looks to end about when the new patch hits and presumably when the King's Fall challenges come with it. That's a decent drum beat of stuff. I wonder if they'll be able to keep it up after the holidays.
Question regarding the Halloween event, is there any guaranteed way to get glue? I got 1 during my first legendary chest but hadn't gotten any since.

Glue only drops from the packages bought with silver. So you can get two legendary masks for free (the second being if you dismantle the one that came with the initial package and apply it to another mask), but additional ones will cost silver.

The other strategy is for groups under 310. It takes them longer to kill the knights and that forces their squishy butts to be out in the open longer trying to get the kill. The alt strat only has you worrying about the vessel since the knights only spawn when the ogres are killed. As long as you kill them all at the same time and quickly it shouldn't be a problem.

But how is it not chaos if Ogres are roaming freely, with no way to guide them, and it's dependant on the in-sync killing of all 4 of them?

It may be tough for a 306 to kill their knight, but if you duck and stay back on your platform you avoid nearly all gunfire. The priority is to stay alive, so we frequently had a guy give up on his knight and run to the safe bubble in the center. It's no big deal just having the 6th person attempt to drop a second knight, or just letting the knight take a bomb and run it again.

Now if you have an entire party of 306s, that might be rough lol.

you don't even need to kill the vessel with the other strat. I was a bit annoyed when I realized that.

He will very very rarely fuck up a bomb I guess but I've only seen it a couple times.

Raid was being glitchy all night yesterday. You missed the lagfest we had on the 2nd run after you left. Damage numbers not popping up, health bars not going down, ogres showing up alive for some and dead for others, shadow phase sphere staying up in the arena even after everyone was teleported outside and sometimes moving up onto the relic platforms. It was crazy. And we still managed to kill him on that run somehow. I'll post a video when I get home hopefully.

Thanks, I got a Xur mask the first time around, trying to decide if I want to keep that or maybe the legendary engram mask i got. Seeing as they have no stats and I'm short on storage space, I'll probably pass on buying more chests

I really need to start taking videos of the dumb nonsense that happens to me. Favorite is still the ogre standing next to me on a platform in a T-pose.

That feel when you're spring cleaning your vault and see that you NEVER traded in your mats for Amour Materials for all your characters.

I really wish I'd saved the clip over the Ogre still standing there on my screen as we detonated all four bombs. I was so confused. I was standing on my blight shooting the Ogre in the face and getting no damage and no reaction.

That's why you have people call out when they're ready to kill, and have one person give the call to kill once he hears everyone is ready. Syncing up the ogre kills has never really been the problem. What you really need is a really good runner and floaters who are capable of stealing the aggro of the ogres as needed while he's running.

But yeah, number one priority is to stay alive no matter the strat. Your life is more important than trying to kill a knight or detonating a bomb.

Well there's a small chance his sword can clip through the floor and kill you. Never seen it happen but I've heard about it.

More likely? You may have touched the surface of the black dome. Instant death.

Ogres aren't a danger in that strat. Everyone just ducks behind platforms and then jump straight to Daughters. Stagger Oryx and then teamshooting Ogres down from above with Blessing. It helps low level guy groups get it done but it's messy as hell and requires a super good runner (he needs to start jumping really quick to outrun Ogre spawns and later their eye beams). The strat you posted is definitely cleaner and more reliable, but lower light teams suffer in executing those steps in a timely fashion.

On the one detonation cycle where no ones names were popping up I have no idea how we managed to get all 4 bombs and get everyone back into the bubble alive. Team was on point last night. Really great group.

I'm up for trials, but not good (+1.0kd in IB but not in Trials), so don't want to bog down a serious team. Anyone that wants to just play for fun let me know, want to get some bounties done.

For sure. Was sad I had to skip the first run, but glad you guys had Gutz fill in. Our run was super fast, and ya'll's first one may have been even faster.

Really like that bounties have replaced the old system of getting to 5 wins and 7 wins for decent packages

I guess I understand how that no knight may be a bit more doable for lower levels, but its really not even thaaaat much better. How in the fuck is polygon debating whether or not its cheating?

Yeah I've only done it once without killing the vessel. The other times we had runs where he killed us or ate a bomb. I kill him anyway just to be safe.

Yeah, I agree it's definitely not better. Just an alternative if groups are struggling doing it one way or the other.
