NightCry, the spiritual successor to Clock Tower that is being directed by the same guy who directed Clock Tower 1, having the monster design be done by Masahiro Ito (of Silent Hill 2 fame), music by Nobuko Toda (of Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, & Halo fame), and also being helped by the guy who worked on the Ju-On/Grudge films... That got an update, so post a few of the things here since it's coming to PC (and very likely Steam).

They got the Collector's Box decided:

They have a couple early WIP shots of the game.

First shot, the final game is planned to have fog and some other effects during the scene, but WIP and all that:

And they have a gif of one of the cutscenes in progress:

>I'm really looking forward to this game even if it's a lower-budget thing, it was mostly funded for out of the creator's pocket and a smaller Kickstarter campaign.

If you told me this was a cutscene from Deadly Premonition I would've believed you lol.

NIghtcry just makes me wish they'd do a sequel to Haunting Ground (Clock Tower 4).

Haunting Ground is amazing, but I can appreciate the creator of the original Clock Tower wanting to make a game stylized in a similar way to the first Clock Tower games. It still should be fun with its Scissor (and other) stalking enemies, and I know a BIG point for NightCry is that they want the game to have a lot of choices on the fly, and have quite a few different endings and gameplay routes you can take based on who you save and let die, supposed to be you can have every survive, or everyone die, or any mixture of people. Which I find interesting.

If you told me this was a cutscene from Deadly Premonition I would've believed you lol.

It definitely is budgeted. XD; But hopefully it's charming, though the people behind me leave to believe that it will be (that, and I quite enjoyed the whole Clock Tower series).

Don't say that! It will just be console exclusive is all! :(

The sticker on the front of the PS4 version for the US says "Play It First" on PS4 while the EU version says "On;y on PS4" so it's really confusing on what type of exclusive it really is

As far as i know it is PS4 exclusive until spring 2016. But after that you will probably need to pay to get them. All previous PS exclusives PC version had day 1 but i think that there is no Dreadful Crimes this time day 1. Maybe somebody who "activated" game can confirm that.

Main missions no you can't, everything else yes you can. Main missions are split between Jacob and Evie.

You can free roam and do all the side stuff as Evie. And there's a lot of side stuff this time and it's actually quite meaningful too. I mean who doesn't want to rub shoulders with Charles Dickens, Charles Darwin, Karl Marx and do their busy work.

Eh, I guess it's a good thing I have some time to decide yet. Had Evie been playable in all the game, that'd have been interesting. But everything I've seen of Jacob bores me, and that doesn't help when AC games in general have bored me since Brotherhood.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Jacob is a total turd and a completely uninteresting character. But he has his moments.

Most sequences have 4-5 missions and they're typically evenly split between Jacob and Evie. Early game it's kind of a bore to play Jacob, but my advice is to level them up with different skills - for me I used Evie for stealth and Jacob for fighting skills (since that seems to be the idea anyway, considering the higher end skills in those categories are locked to those characters). So if you're doing something that requires Stealth, Evie's your girl. If you know you're going to be fighting off loads of enemies, take Jacob. When you're not sure, take Evie if you can. I did this and ended up playing Evie about 80% of the total time I played.
