It is already confirmed that treehouse is doing it. Any nuances you want after seeing import impressions feel free to email nintendo of america. It won't really do much this late, but it doesn't hurt to let them know so they have an idea retroactively and for titles they decide to do in the future.
While I've only had a chance to play through a little of it, mainly the prologue and beginning of first chapter so far due to being so busy this week, what I've played has been a blast. So much fun. Glad I got lots of time off to play it this week. Such a great title.

Damn, left the Wii U on all night with the game on the home menu, only to find out it's the only game I've ever played on the system that doesn't pause the in-game timer. About 4 hours or so of play time, and the game says I'm at 29 hours. What a stupidly annoying bug.

Maybe not a bug, but definitely an oversight. I had no idea developers had to stop counting time manually when the home menu is brought up. I hate it when the time doesn't reflect my play time, and always shut the game off completely if it doesn't stop the counter. Now I'm gonna be paranoid for every Wii U game I play.
#FE isn't as hard as it looked, at least on normal. If you fight all the battles and keep your upgrades up. Although wild enemies can gameover you really fast if you're not paying attention. But it's still a blast working between SMT's weakness system and FE's triangle system Anyway! Here's my image of what's inside the Wii U bundle.
Also the attention to detail is just so tongue in cheek! Did Tiki's sidequest last night, which was named "Tikki Tiki ni shite ageru" ! For Vocaloid fans, it's a play off of Hatsune Miku's "Miku Miku ni shite ageru". This is gonna be some localization hell though.

For those not familiar with Marty Friedman's work, he quit Megadeth in 2000 and moved to Japan sometime after. He had his hand in the original Bravely Default soundtrack.
Here's some of his early work, with him playing co-lead guitars with Dave Mustaine in Megadeth:
These cover a lot of different kinds of programs and commercials. It extends throughout the entertainment theme so it isn't just idol, contrary to the narrative people want to keep putting out.

It was just Kiria hosting a typical mascot bangumi and it has a lot of phonetic and trope specific stereotypes in TV.
There are a lot of characters in game modeled after people in real life, some more obvious than others. It's pretty funny.
That's the thing is that only 2 or 3 of them are idols? Eleonora is an actress, Mamori is a TV personality, Toma is a sentai actor. It really covers a big range of the Japanese entertainment industry.
That said, the substories delve a bit more into this, with them being fully voiced and showing bits from their careers. Be it a shot on stage, to a full performance or a CM. It's a rather upbeat game, showing the characters going through the paces of the entertainment industry, and so far, really nothing super dark, but not necessarily a bad thing. It's pretty neat seeing them develop and grow actually.
TBH, that swimsuit transformation scene w/ Tsubasa, as bad as it looks from the action, and makes sense seeing it in action now.
I mean the characters actually cheer her on like shes doing a good thing. It was a proud moment for her, as embarrassing as it might have been
But the attention to detail is really something else. IE Having the ladies pose gravure-esque on "Young Rabbit" magazine (AKA Young Animal, which Berserk runs in), to tongue in cheek pieces like Barry and TIKI.
I really question if a localization would do this proper justice or not and more so, if the west could even accept this. It's a real shame on the latter, as it's a really fun game to play. Pretty much a Megaten style game with FE-isms.
On a different note, wild enemies can be some serious bullshit. At least you can run away from FOEs. While wild enemies are sometimes forced encounters, with some crazy enemies that you may or may not survive while trying to escape.
Also, having seen Yashiro perform, I do wonder about all of this singing. They could have Johnny Yong Bosch do him, I know he has albums out. XD

That is exactly what I have been saying since the game release and pre-release in terms of the theme. The game isn't reduced to just idols and it covers quite a bit through its characters. I mean idols in the Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 the iDOLM@STER games focus on idols but it is more of a focus on their role in entertainment and their jobs and how they fit in. #FE isn't completely pandering game at all full of akushukai or pop music, it does a lot more and it does it well.
It covers a very broad spectrum and people still seem to focus on one or two things without taking the entire product and concept into account. It really is a good game and it is very Atlus and MegaTen-esque, it just has a new motif which adds depth to it and I love this theme now.
The attention to detail is exactly what I love about this game so much, from character references to callbacks to every part of the entertainment industry to the Fire Emblem character detail like their interactions in the Bloom Palace or their references in the real world. It all makes sense considering the context and motif and there really shouldn't be an issue outside of translation and memo.
The sub stories and interactions really curbed my opinion on some characters like Yashiro and Tsubasa. I still think Itsuki is super vanilla even coming as a character unintentionally sucked into the industry but I enjoy the entire cast a lot. Tsubasa has some development going from a rookie to becoming more and more comfortable by the end of the game. Her gravure scene is probably the one that really jump started her career because of how embarrassed she was to do it at first but finally mustered courage to and the rest of her colleagues supported her.
The class changes and designs are pretty cool too.
I really do hope that the OT helps curb some initial reactions and that this gets the word of mouth support it deserves. My impressions and all the others who have played have been mostly positive so far. Now that I've started NG+, this is probably my top 5 game for the year in terms of enjoyment at least.

I gave up at the last chapter it was hard and I don't want to spend time on new years clearing a boss. redoing lunatic now. I'm not taking this wii u back either so I need to finish.

I have this thing about using encounter modifiers. Like in Tales, I would never ever use a holy bottle or run away from a battle. But man here, it's a matter of life or death.
My setup was:
Itsuki using zetsumei on the boss and casting rakukaja,
Tsubasa on healing duty media, debut smile to rebuff/heal if needed, and sukukaja if possible,
and Kiria mahabufu with a lucky adlib every now and then.

Omg that was it, mabufu was the key. Thank you so much. I was approaching the battle all wrong.
Id tried to kill all adds asap with Tsubasas aerial dance and survive from there. Which never worked out. Although one time I lucked out with Eleonora charming the dark mages and thought I'd make it.
I should be almost at the end of the story I'd wager, given what's happening now.
I've played a bit more than 49 hours so far.
Two more side quests left according to the menu.
I still really like the combat system, I'm having a blast leveling my weapons ans skills.
One thing I haven't touched yet is the class change...I have 12 items to make changes right now but never used one.
The thing is, I'm kinda afraid to lose something in the first class if I'm changing before obtaining everything I can first.

Graphically very good.
Story is serviceable but not on the level of other Atlus RPGs you might've enjoyed.
Sound is awesome too, BGMs are a blast, and the songs are well produced.
I'm curious to see how they're going to localize this.
random spoiler of something that made me laugh: Best non main character :
Kuen Tarachino, with his best film yet, Arrow of the Destiny. See it in 3D/4D next summer!
Started again last night after finally finishing my anima weapon on ffxiv, finished chapter 1 (after getting wrecked by the boss for not upgrading your weapons) got a few game overs from those wild things god damn. But yeah the game is fun, especially the combat. Stopped at the first intermission and i saw the subquests that i need to do later tonight!
I'm surprised that I still haven't come across max level stats for the characters except for Itsuki yet...
also since I made a stupid mistake, my stuff got caught by customs so another extra 1 week... which means I'll be playing this after exam instead orz
at least this time it doesn't cause me to not get the game at all
Been going slow because I wanted to finish Witcher 3 before really digging into this game. Finished the first real dungeon yesterday and it was simple but fun. I like the gameplay but not digging the main character designs when in battle. Outside of battle I think they're okay and thank god there are several costumes I can use instead of being stuck with the defaults.
The dialogue so far kind of stinks. IMO it's on the level of Fire Emblem IF which I thought had poorly-written dialogue.
In any case, I'm at the point where I can do 10 sessions now, feels so good. But just when you think you're overpowered, and relax a bit, a mob casts megido. That gives you a quick wake up call. Boss battles remain fun too, or at least the last two I've fought since chapter 3.
I'm actually a little disappointed that there's only 3 substories for each character. I was sad when I did Kiria's 3rd one and only realized then.

That's disappointing to hear too. I mean what exists of the side stories is good and was a good foundation for starting off with the characters. But knowing it's just a 1-2-3 and done is really sad. I can see why they couldn't do it though, I mean with all those performances and even more scenes to write.
Well it looks like my Fortissimo Edition was held by customs this morning, which set me back £26 to release it >_<
To avoid having the codes go to waste, does anyone want mine when it arrives? They're listed on AmiAmi as the following:
-Collaboration costume (download code for Atlus motif costume which can be used in the game)
-Original costume set (3 download codes for costume sets which can be used in the game)
I don't understand Japanese and I have a PAL Wii U so it's not like I'll be using them anyways, plus I'd feel better if someone put them to good use rather than just letting them gathering dust.
Well, if you don't mind, I'd for sure love to.
I am still waiting for my game, but think it should be coming in the next few days. I was kind of wishing I had preordered the fortissimo edition after the first reviews

They're yours in that case ^ ^ it says they're releasing it for delivery tomorrow so I'll PM the codes to you when I get home from work (if it arrives).

It is understandable. We did get a lot of text and other smaller things to make up for it considering how much they packed in the RPG. It isn't lacking in content for a ~50 hour game with a New Game+. Seeing that I'm going to leave in a week and won't be bringing back the Wii U and giving it to my girlfriend's sibling instead, I might give up on the Lunatic New Game+ run. Keeping the game tho.
I need to go get those rubber straps, I hope they keep making merchandise for this game.
I have tried updating the OP for anyone who still needs resources and convincing.
I am very glad that this thread has stayed positive for the most part and abided by thread rules. I had similar rules for the Fire Emblem if import OT and I will have similar rules for the Western release for #FE as well as Fire Emblem Fates.
I think that the rules have been very reasonable and that most of us think that it is good and necessary to maintain objective discussion. Would that be fair, asking that the thread enforces similar rules to the OTs for the other two games?
If you do have an issue with these rules, feel free to let me know. I think that it is unfair for everyone, including the game itself, if discussion is derailed and I want people to enjoy a good game as much as possible.

I think it's fair, considering any other #FE or new FE topic ends up getting absolutely derailed in negativity. I should also be clear that I'm really sad, not that the game is really sad. As I really do like the character development and the characters.
