PSVR is a subpar product compared to the Rift. You are paying 600 bucks for a premium experience, not for a one watered down like the Sony alternative.
Rip oculus.
Champagne must be popping at Sony.
Dammit, I can't submit my order!
Keeps saying "Something went wrong"
Those controllers don't look cheap, and I need a new graphics card. I hope Valve can get the controllers in for a lower price. Sony can't match this. They have to go higher or lower. It's just a tainted price point for them. Are they heavy?
Yeah.
Then they're expensive, put 'em back.
Judging by the costs of Oculus, Sony would only do this if they're willing to either take a massive loss up front or sell a wildly inferior product.
AKA, it's going to be almost just as expensive.
$914.00 CDN after shipping
my brain can't process this correctly
Plamer Luckey never spoke in a way that should've implied any different. I wish people weren't this surprised and gave this a shot to simply give it some time to go down in price.
Prices for the first players in 1997 were $1000 and up. By the end of 2000, players were available for under $100 at discount retailers. In 2003 players became available for under $50.
That argument is not what you think it is. First of all, blu-ray players aren't that popular, especially when compared to DVD players.
Second, it would have been even more dead at that price point.

I want to buy it but I wonder if it'll be a fad.
Ordered.
It sure is nice being gainfully employed!
699 for Europe, plus shipping I just preordered it at 741...
People complaining the price, but they still buying it LOL
That's not even including customs taxes, sales tax, and shipping.
And that price is locked in even if the CDN$ recovers
