That's what I thought.No. They said March 2017 for NX, but didn't specify for Zelda.

This could be for the best if it means the extra time will allow them to put out a machine closer to the ps4k in spec. I also hope its designed to be upgradable some how. Like a docks where you can add extra processing or gpu power. And all games are should be built with the standard version in mind. With patched upgrades only affecting fps or resolution
Is not a contradiction at what I said.
Nope.March 2017 simultaneous release.
Well I meant it more in that Polaris may actually be credible, but I don't think Zen is...
Possible Reasons for the NX Delay:
- Nintendo planned to release in 2016 all along, but after the announcements of the PS4K and Xbox 1.5, they feared releasing a console that would quickly become the least powerful and prefer to take a wait and see approach until Sony/Microsoft announce their official specs.
- NX didn't have enough games ready for launch and did not want to make the same mistake as the Wii U.
- By releasing in March, it will enable Nintendo to sell the console cheaper with higher specs on it.
- Handheld was taking longer to complete and want to release both at the same time (If it is a Hybrid console).
- Still making deals for more 3rd party support
- Nintendo feels they can finish strong by lowering the Wii U's price to something like $175-$199 this year and for the holiday season and sell out of their remaining Wii U Stock.
- Release of PSVR, Oculus and Hive along with PS4K and XONE.5 would take away from the NX's hype and by releasing in March, they have that date all for themselves.
Nope.
They won't aim for high spec. They will aim for low cost.
Nope.
no one actually thinks this, it's just a talking point used by people who want a stage show from Nintendo
if something from Nintendo is newsworthy history has shown it will be reported on, whether it comes from a press release, Direct, or even a rumor (WSJ recently)
But didn't Emily Rogers shoot down the idea?Well I meant it more in that Polaris may actually be credible, but I don't think Zen is...
Which is why i said "closer to the ps4k". Because i dont expect them to surpass or match it. But the extra time may put certain hardware or features within their reach at a lesser cost even. Who knowsThey won't aim for high spec. They will aim for low cost.
It still could very well be a launch NX game.Yeah, my mistake. I was confusing the two dates.

I'm assuming that you meant PS4K, so I edited your post accordingly for the quote.I think she didn't denied specifically 10k rumor about polaris. She basically said that we were expecting too much about the specs (ps4k specs).
Retro's Diddy Kong Racing. So what is the big holiday game this year? For Wii U that is.

- NX didn't have enough games ready for launch and did not want to make the same mistake as the Wii U. Is 3 months really that big a time frame to complete games?
- By releasing in March, it will enable Nintendo to sell the console cheaper with higher specs on it. How?
- Still making deals for more 3rd party support any third party games ready for March are going to be late ports unloess they are moneyhatting exclusives
- Nintendo feels they can finish strong by lowering the Wii U's price to something like $175-$199 this year and for the holiday season and sell out of their remaining Wii U Stock. No-one wants a Wii U, it's dead, let it die
- Release of PSVR, Oculus and Hive along with PS4K and XONE.5 would take away from the NX's hype and by releasing in March, they have that date all for themselves.Rumours are that PS4K is aiming for around March as well, nice delay Nintendo.
So what is the big holiday game this year? For Wii U that is.
The guy who said the CPU thing has leaked a bunch of info about the Wii & GameCube way back when, so he's reliable.
Code name: “N-Stars” big budget game for all ages

Eshop mini-game 2.0
I'm beginning to think that the the "super strict NDA" thing might just be "hardly anyone has any freaking dev kits" or something... H
They just failed to secure some western dev teams to add exclusives that appeal to the core market post N64 (with a few GameCube exceptions like RE4 and Eternal Darkness). The N64 had Mario, Zelda et al, but also had Goldeneye, Perfect Dark Turok 1 & 2 etc. as exclusives.
I am personally taking a wait and see approach. It's not ideal but until I see what they have to offer and more information is available I am not any taking sides.
What was going to happen to Zelda was obvious though so I am not that disappointed.
Then why ever make commercials for a video game?
1. Wait, the first Neo rumours said that Sony was planing to launch Neo in Q1 2017. This cat and mouse game won't help Nintendo. This will be Uncharted vs. Tomb Raider all over again.
If Sony wants to crush Nintendo they will release Neo alongside NX. Sony should not be afraid of doing so, as they've released PS when XboxOne launched and came out on top of the game.
2. Wat? Is March magic month or something? What kind of technological advancement or major price reduction do you expect in a 5 month time frame? There has to be a more plausible reason to skip holidays 2016.

Actually, #2 is correct. We're so early on the 14nmFF life cycle that every month counts as far as yields and cost go, which is likely a big reason for why PS4k is most likely also aimed for March.
It's Nintendo though. Half as powerful as XBone is extremely optimistic.

I doubt NOA Twitter would be specifically using the "next generation of Nintendo" phrasing to hype NX if it were weaker than the XB1.

This joke is really played out
I know the Wii U is dead, and they are ending production. But to miss a holiday season is madness. Don't think the 3DS will be enough.
Yes, absolutely. I'm going to adress Nintendo defense force here: pls, hold your tits and get real! I'm not a fanboy, I own a WiiU.
No marketing budget/incentive is going to recover what Nintendo has lost in the last 20 years: PS1, PS2, PS3 did the marketing for PS4 if you really think about it.
Nintendo is living on a fanbase that is only decreasing with time. The Nintendo man-childs drooling in nostalgia will go the way of WWII eye witnesses. There will come a time when there's no one around anymore to tell stories about Nintendo magic.
The Wii was the Rubik cube of the 2000s. Nothing more, nothing less: A trend.
And now Nintendo is sacrificing one year of mindshare. Does anyone remember the last years of the Wii. Basically they stopped supporting Wii in 2010 - a successful console - and yet they had no library at WiiU's launch.
Missing holiday 2016 is one thing. Dropping WiiU support is also understandable BUT behaving like a bullied school kid who hides in the shadows is just plain stupid. Nintendo needs a pair of magnificent balls or they're done. End of story.
But didn't Emily Rogers shoot down the idea?
Polaris + ARM makes the most sense.
I belive the rumours are that the PS4k will release in March also.
Everyone I know IRL who grew up loving Nintendo has moved on to smartphones, PC, PS4 and Xbone. They remember Smash Bros 64 and Melee fondly but they've moved on. If Nintendo doesn't act sooner they are going to lose all their potential mindshare and marketshare in gaming. Their fans have aged and they haven't done a thing to compete to keep them or to reel in the new generation of children glued to tablets and smartphones. And now they're letting MS and Sony get ahead AGAIN with new console refreshes, maybe even before they get to release NX.
Insanity.
