Limited Run Games trying to work towards retail release for Fatal Frame MoBW (Wii U)

https://twitter.com/LimitedRunGames/status/725836754587144192

Grimsie42: Hey @LimitedRunGames what're the chances we get a Wii U game in the future? Project Zero would be a dream come true!!!

Limited Run Games: We're trying to work towards a Fatal Frame 5 release. :)

Can they? I don't see Nintendo doing this with Limited Run Games. XSEED is the only 3rd-party publisher in recent years to publish any Nintendo game in the west that I remember.

didn't Koei Tecmo publish the zelda game that came out last year on Wiiu?

Only in Japan, hence why I said "in the west". :p

It'd make a lot of sense for KT to do it, but would they be interested? You'd think if Nintendo wouldn't do it, then KT would've jumped in to do it in the first place.

They're trying to work towards several larger games for a retail release, this isn't exactly new information unless this is "the" game they're focusing on out of the list they've given.

We would love to go after things like,

The Atelier series (there are a bunch that never got physical!)
Yakuza 5
Fatal Frame
Phoenix Wright
Attack On Titan

So yeah let us know if you'd legit buy these titles.

This was the list btw.

They been trying with many large and indie publishers. Really not worth a topic until there is more concrete information.

Out of that list I would definitely buy Yakuza 5, Phoenix Wright, and Fatal Frame.

Already bought the uncensored Japanese version so I'll pass. Although I suppose I might consider it if comes with the reversible cover from the UK LE.

I just finally installed the English patch the other day to let me play FF4.

Yes! If it's a physical copy, I'd buy it right away.

I haven't bought the digital one because I know it's "always" going to be there, so there's no rush. But a physical one? Gotta buy that asap.

I'll buy it instantly. Fatal Frame V was one of the most anticipated games of last year for me and it went down the window the second it was announced to be digital only.

The second it's announced physically, I'll be there!

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'll be honest: Literally the only reason I haven't bought the game yet is because it's a $50 digital only game. That's not to say I won't buy it eventually, but it knocked it that much lower on my list of priorities.

I'd buy a physical disc in a heartbeat.

By retail release do you actually mean a retail release or a physical release only sold through their website where you have to mash F5 to not miss it?

When did Limited Run get okayed by Nintendo? I asked about FAST Racing Neo once and they said they'd love to but couldn't as they wernt registered for Nintendo platforms. Great news.

Probably the latter. Which, personally, I think is more fun (assuming you get it.) I just wish they'd publish a game on disc that I could come close to giving a shit about.

Ugh. You basically have to fight the "I want it only because it's going to be rare" people. No thanks.

Apparently, after switching to a "1 per customer" system for the Oddworld release, they had stock for like... an entire day. So it might not be too tough.

Az987

all good things
I thought early on they said no to anything other than Sony games because the minimum print required for the other consoles was too high?

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Sure, I'll take that. Never really played Fatal Frame but I hate when retail games are robbed of releases in certain regions.

Oh and the Ace Attorney games as mentioned above. The fact Capcom dropped the ball on that so hard...

I already have a US digital copy and the European Special Edition but I'd buy this in a heartbeat!! :D

I might do this anyway based on some of the other rumblings I read here. Seems like it might be a safer bet, less heartache.
