iOS Gaming May 2016 | April jests bring Titan Quests

With Hexcells on my iPad...mobile's repertoire of quality indies is super impressive. I think you could only have an iPad and still have a pretty good grasp of PC indies due to all the great ports. Transistor, FTL, Papers Please, This War of Mine, Door Kickers, etc.

Think I might buy Fallen London, Redcon and Warbits (didn't feel the beta at all though) soon!
Fallen London is F2P, and Redcon is free with a premium unlock

Enjoying Pocket League Story 2 -- don't see much reason to actually pay the $4 to remove the ads especially since it has IAP. One major complaint though -- my striker who has like 28 goals in 12-13 games has missed at least 6 or 7 penalties now. Hasn't made a single one. He's followed up 2 or 3 after the miss but this is infuriating.

I still live in hope of Sunless Sea and Darkest Dungeon...

It has IAP on top of the ad removal? I had a look at the in-apps on the store last night and it was only showing the one IAP for removing ads.

I can safely say Darkest Dungeon is a given, while not officially announced yet.
I supposed end of this year too (maybe earlier), mark my words ;)
Happy to hear that. I played a little on my buddy's PC and enjoyed my time with the game.

Also in love with Pathfinder. A little buggy, but a ton of fun. Already bought the $25 unlock/season pass.

Yeah Pathfinder is truly amazing.
Already my GOTY candidate, and it will be very difficult to dethrone.

Having both of those already, I will quite happily double-dip on the pair of them for iPad.

Those, and Sorcery 4* are my most anticpated at the moment.

* I don't like episodic games, so waiting for this then I will grab all four at once.

Maybe one day I should actually grab 80 Days?

Looking at Verreciel development on github... the todo list in the project still points to a lot of things to be done. And then it would need to go through submission/approval?

Originally it was due out in January, right?

warning:
whilst it's possible for you to build and play the incomplete game yourself! I do not advise. but it is beautiful. #spoiler
Any other thoughts? As good as we hoped?

So uh... did everyone else know you can get more than one of the same legendary dweller in Fallout Shelter? Because I have two Pipers sharing a room now.

You just made my week my friend.

Easily my favourite game of recent years (after Hearthstone).

The developer said it would be out this Sunday just passed. They tweeted at the weekend to say they had a last minute bug/problem with something so it will need to be resubmitted, but hopefully that means it will be soon!

How are the physics in Inks? More pinball fx or pinball arcade? Looks neat, but I need satisfying ball weight in my pinball...

I would say more like Pinball FX and not that realistic. A little slower. I'm still having fun with it. Very unique take on the genre, having to hit all the colors and watching the ink splatter. Starts out easy but gets pretty challenging to hit all the colors to get gold with just one ball.

But if you're looking for serious pinball physics, I don't think you'll find it here.

So many great iOS games coming out, and so many others going on sale regularly...

And here I am replaying Kingdom Rush for the 3rd or 4th time, haha. I just love that series so damn much!

Can't wait for the companies sci-fi RTS to come out, I was excited to play it this spring/summer, but according to their tweets, it sounds like it won't be until fall/winter. :(

Bought Punch Club.
Looks very good and seems to be deep, but isn´t it a bit too slow to play?
In the few fights I took, I was left staring at the screen for a good while as the fights were developing. Is there a way to speed up or skip this later on?

Once again, the Tomb Raider-Uncharted cycle continues :p

UNCHARTED: Fortune Hunter
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uncharted-fortune-hunter/id1104415942

It's kind of like an Uncharted take on Lara Croft GO. Pretty solid IMO. I'm surprised they put this much effort into a tie-in. At least it's not a runner

Oh jeez, I dunno if I want to support that. That's just ridiculous, and the model of Nathan Drake looks *terrible*.

And once again Tomb Raider is the better game. ;)

Edit: More_Badass do you have any idea what the IAP are for in Never Gone? They're making me hesitant to pick up the game.

So I'm going on a 2 week vacation soon. Our iPad 2 just isn't cutting it anymore. I was going to pick up a new tablet with a few key points in mind and figured you guys could help!

How much of a difference is there between the Air, Air 2, and Pro? I really only want to play board and card games (and Titan Quest when that comes out). I also plan to read comics on it. I can get a 32 gig Air for $350, a 64 gig Air 2 for $500, or a 32 gig Pro for $600. Normally the "newer/better" version is what I go towards, but I'm weighing the costs right now. If the Air has a good screen for comics and will run all the board/card games I want, I don't see the benefit of spending an extra $150.

Anyone gaming on an Air have any complaints?

No timers or energy meters so that's good. There are currency packs, as expected. Need to play more to give a solid impression

The only Kairosoft game I have ever played was Game Dev Story back in the day, but just started playing Pocket League Story 2. Got through the first match with a victory, but not sure what I should be doing in the off-time. Any tips?

I had no complaints. Screen for comics is fantastic. They all have Retina display. I would STRONGLY recommend getting the most storage you can afford.

What about iPad Air vs Mini 4? Again, looking at the longevity of gaming as well as media consumption.

Thanks.

Mini 4 has a better processor and 2GB of RAM which is pretty nice.

I have a Air 2 and went back to my Mini 3 due to the form factor and the screen vibration from the speaker. While it's not as snappy, it's far from feeling obsolete.

The mini 4 looks like a great tablet. I think I will buy one for my next tablet. It is faster than the Air, but both would suit your needs equally well. I suppose it comes down to which size you prefer.

The iPad Air only having 1 GB of RAM should be a deal breaker.

I'll go tinker with a Mini today to see if the screen size will do well for comics. Thanks!

MB, did you pick up Never Alone? Reading the TA thread, it sounds like the monitization is really bad. Like outfits that affect gameplay going for up to $70 in premium currency.
Damn, I did pick it up last night, but only played a few minutes. Didn't know about that stuff

Well, I went and messed with an Air 2 and a Mini 4. The form factor on the Mini is sweet, but the screen on the Air was, well, bigger. Both looked and felt great. I'm actually leaning towards the Air 2 since the larger screen will make a big difference for our everyday use and for gaming.

Have any recommendations for a good RPG GAF? Have a bit of travelling coming up and wanting something to do on the plane.

My current favorites are Chaos Rings 3 and Final Fantasy 9.

Templar Battleforce if you are looking for turn based.

No complaints with my Air. Never had a problem running any game
