I tried that disney emoji game, it's a basic match three and you unlock emojis in the game that you can use in texts. But I guess I don't know much about those because they come out gigantic in texts, but at least it's cute?

So is there a baseball game worth playing? I prefer a one time purchase of course.

Apparently, RBI Baseball kinda sucks.and Gamevil's MLB's Perfect Inning 3 is filled with so many microtransactions that I literally have no idea how to actually play the game against AI or recruit players.

Professional Baseball Spirits Ace on the JP app store. Even with a language barrier, it's better than anything on the US shop.

New Butterscotch game in development
WIP for codename:brunch. Anyone hungry for co-op ARPG madness with a hint of Butterscotch?

Well I guess I'm done with Fallout Shelter, I was enjoying the quests until I encountered a bug where a raider that was killed continued to stand up and shoot at my dwellers and since it was already dead they just kind of stood there and got shot. I had no choice but to close the game and now it crashes every time I try to start it.

Fallen London is really sinking its hook in. I had started a new character, and now some interesting stories and scenarios are opening up. Even decided to go for the monthly subscription.

So relieved to see this thread hasn't been taken over by 'that' game, its of 0 interest to someone like me, I kinda hope the craze runs its course! However now its the summer holidays I guess it'll be the summer of Pokemon.

So I haven't posted in here before but I have lurked for many months and do play a lot of the games recommended by you guys.

This month I've put quite a few hours into Sky Force R. but even with the double coins iAP it still turns into a grind about level 6 onwards. You HAVE to hit the objectives for the previous levels on the higher difficulties and that's where the game became less interesting for me.

touch controls are OK but its easy to take hits because your finger gets in the way, probably much better with a game pad.

not sure what to play next, but thanks for all the recommendations guys.

Yeah, Sky Force games definitely are a grind, but it's one of those rare games that I don't mind the grind or even the timers because the gameplay is so fun.

What control scheme do you use? I'd recommend switching to the relative touch one, so you can keep your finger out of the way of the plane and the action

And welcome, always nice to see new names and comments here

I hope Pokemon GO lasts years. Probably the best mobile game to have come out for months. Not to say there haven't been any great games meanwhile, but PokeGO is something else.

Perhaps the best in terms of widespread social impact and having an influence beyond just being a game, but the best mobile game?

Only title I might buy this week is Dungeoneering if the impressions are good.

Death Road to Canada also releases this Friday for Steam. I'm hopeful the iOS version can get here before the end of August.

Three years in the making. Can't wait for Death Road. After the Hook games and Punch Quest and Mage Gauntlet and Wayward Souls and Five Card Quest, anything by Rocketcat is an instant purchase

So guys, I'm gonna create a New Zealand account tomorrow, but how do I spent money on Lumines on July 19 if I am located outside the country and doesn't have a New Zealand credit card?

I don't know if you can. I only use foreign accounts for free soft-launched games

Not to knock at Rocketcat (they are also one of my favorite developers) but I do wonder if releasing on PC first and having the mobile release come later was a choice on their part to seem more "professional" so to speak. Kinda like what butterscotch said about PC journalists not taking Crashlands seriously because it was releasing simultaneously on mobile.

I'm a PC gamer myself of course and I would instabuy this day 1 for steam but since I know it's coming to mobile and rocketcat is a veteran of mobile games this is one I feel I would like more to play on the go.

Oh definitely. It's not the only Kickstarter to downplay mobile versions and keep the focus on PC. The Deer God did it as well

Just got a reply from Rocketcat. They're hoping to have the mobile version out a month after the PC launch, so yeah August or September is likely

And Perchang. Epic Flail doesn't have the best controls unfortunately.

Good to know. Will buy Hyperburner theb Perchang

This is a real bummer. I can't wait for Lumines. It's one of my most anticipated games in general.

We don't have a New Zealand guy in here who could gift it for a Paypal payment?

You can gift promo codes to other countries. Just yours. Only the developer can give international codes. Strange thing and annoying, but its like that

The wait for the iOS version is going to be killer.
Yeah

But cool news is that the game will have substantial post-launch updates, much like Wayward Souls
I plan on updating Death Road to Canada with a lot of free updates, like I do with many of my games. Wayward Souls, for example, is heading towards 3 years of major content updates with a new character being added for the next one. For Death Road, my main focus will be adding feedback requests that weren't obvious when making the game, and also just filling the world up with more weird rare events and encounters.

Excited to finally get to play Papers, Please and Her Story too.

Organ Trail looks intriguing as well....wanted a new OT game for a long time and this looks to be the closest reality of that.

Death Road to Canada is looking like a much bigger complex version of Organ Trail, so keep an eye for that possibly next month

What's the current verdict on the Infinity Engine games on and iPad? Looking at reviews early impressions said there were a lot of control issues but there have been some hefty updates since.

On iPad I thought Icewind Dale and BG2 controlled all right with some quirks to be sure but still were fine.

Yeah

This, to me, is what makes a great developer.

Another game I'm looking forward too in the coming months is Solitairica. Already on steam but the devs have said that they're targeting September for iOS release.

Frogmind as well. Their post-launch support of the Badland games was excellent

And Solitairica is fun. I don't enjoy it as much as Card Crawl, but it's unique in its own ways

Is anyone still playing RYB? I have just reached the dlc levels and they feature this new X symbol on the puzzles. The problem is I have no idea what these symbols are meant to mean after going through the tutorial for them. If anyone can help me with these I would be very thankful.

Was doing an app cleaning and came across two games I forgot about but are some of the very best games on the AppStore:

Indiana Stone: The Brave and the Boulder. A unique behind the back runner where you play as a boulder and your job is to stop the thief from stealing the treasure at any cost. Controls are excellent, exhumes personality, good design, has tons of unlockables, special stages, different boulders, feels fast, plenty of different obstacles and settings, catchy soundtrack, a premium game, still works perfectly (even on iOS 10), no IAP... it has all the ingredients to be a classic iOS game, that thing that were hot a few years back but not anymore. Devs dont make this kind of game anymore.

The other is Super Crossfighter. By RadianGames. For all of you who know the sole developer, should be be enought to warrant a purchase. And this is their best game. A shooter like no other with a warp mechanic that wont leave you undifferent. Lots of adventure, a dark mode, endless modes, very cool upgrade tree, lots of options, huge quality, and much much more.

If you consider yourself a iOS gamer and dont own these two, consider yourself a casual :p

So tomorrow is the big day. Lumines launches in Japan, New Zealand and Australia. I'm looking forward to videos and impressions!

It's like one of the best block falling puzzle games ever, right after Tetris. There should be way more hype.

I had never heard of the game before seeing it mentioned in these threads. What makes it so good?

I played BG2 on the iPad recently. It runs great. Control issues here and there but nothing gamebreaking.

Great game leading up to Christmas. I still have to play a ton more of Card Crawl though, before that one comes out. But if I were the developers, I would have waited to announce the next game after Card Thief were out.

New info? Or you were just browsing old threads?

I google'd it and found a tweet from last year from a developer saying they hope to bring it to iOS in 2016...probably old news but I had no idea so I got hyped lol.

Game makes complete sense to me for mobile, esp. on tablets.
