What's this from?

Reaction animations are fantastic.

If the combat has less input lag than the platinum demo, then this game will be the game of forever.

Episode Duscae, which is older, has way less input lag than Platinum Demo. This last one was just a rushed demo made by a small group of workers and the final game will definitely have no input lag. Hell, I would be surprised if that's not the case.

Damn...now that's unfortunete. Especially when we eventually get to see the PC version. So Scorpio and Neo won't be bringing richer graphical fidelity....bummer. On the other hand, by the time those systems release most of us either will have finished the game already or maybe the game actually bombs. Who knows.

Hm? What do you mean, "won't be bringing richer graphical fidelity"? Of course they could add updated shaders in addition to the mandatory baseline resolution and framerate bumps (1080p min. and better framerate than the normal version). What I meant was that there just won't be any drastic new features to the game that change the gameplay, like airship-flying at highest height to find new seccret locations only possible on Neo/Scorpio.

They improved the hit reaction from enemies a lot. In ED the Behemoth basically didn't react at all, now every bodypart reacts properly and clearly visible.
That's a huge improvement.
Noctis now also reacts when running straight into a wall, I like these details.

The animation segment in the video starts ~15min in.

But that next presentation isn't being streamed live though right?

I couldn't find any stream so far.

I just noticed that in this video the draw distance for shadows on the bushes in the Duscae area is something like 2m infront of the camera.
Maybe this is still all target specs for the console version. (I'm probably way to optimistic haha)

Their game build has been targeting console specs for a while now, people just don't want to believe it whenever they see graphical improvements. The incredibly short shadow draw is typically seen in every other console title, particularly open worlds.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm really glad we've seen so little of the rest of the actual game other than Duscae & what we've deduced from Kingslaive/story trailers - it makes the little moments when they show a little flourish of something different all that more enticing & exciting.

Sold. I never knew I wanted moving walls so much in my dungeons.
Also, the split-second I looked at this image, Find Your Way from FF8 started playing in my head. Dungeons in FFXV are probably not going to have that kind of music (my guess is no music at all or ambience music in most sidequest dungeons), but I really, really hope they do. FF8's dungeons just felt so magical with that music.

I would like to believe that gif is an example of a starter dungeon, and that later on
they get more puzzling and complex with invisible walls or even warp patterns.

Put you in a room or area where you have to find the right warp strike path way
and disable MP Regen so if you mess up the path you have to fall down and reset your MP till you get it right.

Love how there's a worn smear on the bottom of the moving wall's path.

You aren't alone. For all the stuff they've shown, it feels like they've only scratched the surface of what kind of locations exist in FFXV's world.

They can have better graphics. But 1080p / 30fps is minimum for Neo, if they're able to add something else in addition they can do it.

Where did you get that idea? Yeah, there will be graphical fidelity increases, its not limited to FPS or Res, but for games that don't have scalable graphical configurations, that is what it will probably come down to.

Ah i see now, i misunderstood it then. That does sound good. But sadly we're more than a year off from Scorpio and perhaps Neo this year? Time will tell. And even if Neo hits this year, it remains to be seen if they add the graphical improvements right away.

I really hope the Xbox One version turns out decent enough with a clean image quality, or well..as clean as possible. The framerate during E3 was smooth, so that's a good thing.

I talked shit about this game during e3 because of the poor demo showing but I'm caught up in the hype and just preordered it. Can't wait for kingsglaive.

LOL

Pretty much. The gameplay isn't like any other final fantasy and the story/characters look very uninteresting. I used to be a huge final fantasy fan but I'll pass on this. I'm glad 12 remake is coming out at least.

I only doubted a few months after the 2014 tgs showing, and that summer Tabata confirmed all the changes to the story and the cuts that were made.
At that point in time I was upset and thought they really were just butchering the game but I was seeing the game slowly come together always had hope.
Even though today some choices have made me upset like Lucis opening for kingsglaive but oh well.

I have hopes that if the Gamescom demo really is
Chapter 0
then we'll get to finally see ring magic.

I have even wilder hopes that these were ring magic all along:

Excellent!

Everything they show is almost like something new and interesting. You have a lot of people already pegging this game down as being "one thing"(too much desert, too much grasslands, too realistic, too fantastical), then new footage is released and it breaks that old perception and creates a new one, and that doesn't end, because that keeps on happening.

It's a never ending rollercoaster ride.

Tabata did say he's interested in the power of the Neo and Scorpio. He also said he wants to wait till after PS4/One versions come out before considering PC and the fact he wants a higher spec version made as well. But I doubt Square will let him break that budget without having other versions to cushion it.

I think the chance for a definitive version late 2017 is very high. Will it sell? That depends on how good the game is.

Slight spoiler from Kingsglaive about wether ring magic is still in or not:
the ring is still in and is said to have magic powers

^^ is 'Ring Magic' still definitely a never shown before element of the game?

Has Tabata mentioned it at all recently?

He hasn't mentioned it very recently, but the Kingsglaive trailer from SDCC shows it and it also has a devoted icon in the game's menus.

Going by the icon it's given in the menu, we know that it's not been shown before unless one of the examples I posted above- which preceded the four weapon deck and these icons- really is ring magic.

Thanks, I wouldn't mind if ring magic is presented how it is in those TGS 2014 battle gifs above.

Perhaps it will serve as a more direct form of magic towards the enemy, as opposed to the environment/location based magic we got in Platinum. It would be cool to have both.

Only just noticed that the car suffers physical dents after it grazes that other vehicle. I wonder if the damage is permanent until you repair it.

Where did you hear that? I thought
that we start with pushing the car.

It's a supposed "leak" floating around whose authenticity I'm not prepared to vouch for.

EDIT: Oh, didn't see your edit. The existence of
Chapter 0
was confirmed by Tabata some time ago, although no real details about it were given.

I look this new footage looks amazing i see the trailers before it looks garbage, i am scared about this game.

They just need to stop messing around and fucking show us ps4 xbone footage.

I think what we're getting now is footage of PC builds targeting console specs so I don't think it will be that far off but yes, still not seeing any console footage at this point doesn't inspire confidence.

I always assumed that the ring magic was just arminger, did they ever hint about what it actually was?

“The first is a very generic magic system that is used by people around the world,” said Tabata, “The second one is a very specific discipline of magic, which is only allowed to be used by people within the Royal family itself.”

Understood, then I'll treat it as such.

I didn't initially understand your question as you'd just asked me where I heard about the supposed Gamescom demo. Chapter 0 itself is not any kind of leak, Tabata himself confirmed its existence and compared it to the opening of Final Fantasy IV which apparently starts with an unwinnable boss fight. The details about this Chapter 0 are the supposed leaks, as is the idea that it could be the demo shown at Gamescom.

Don't be afraid either you're in or out, believe my friend no need to be scared only good things are coming to us!
