Destiny |OT41| Don't Worry, Leave Happy

Cant believe what Im reading. Thought I was reading a joke at first. Such a great man, always felt special when you got to play with Drizz. Helped me out so many times. Resets in year 1 wouldnt have been the same without him. Truely he was legend.

I did go back to look for the photos in the old OTs and here is one taken by Toasty

Think that was everyone's first time beating Oryx in that group. I remember making a couple bonehead mistakes after a while of trying (because the whole encounter took us hours) just because I was getting fatigued but the whole group was all cool about it...

Damn man I've given Destiny lots of shit at times since it's released and I disappear for stretches but I can remember events, moments and the people I've met through the community like it was yesterday. A special game in that way...

Be good to each other, yeah?

Just be good to each other. That's all Drizzay did. He was a great player, obviously.

But damn, he was an even better person. I sat and looked through all my saved videos and screenshots... Some are filled with happy memories with him: my first trip to Mercury, my first Oryx kill, my first (and only!) Skolas kill...

Our community is hurt by this. We are all grieving in our own ways. But we must honor him. We must be good to each other, help the influx of new people coming, and hope to be as half as good of a person as Drizzay was. We must do this to honor him, to show him the respect and reverence he deserves and more. Give as much as you can, and then give a little bit more.

That's what Drizzay did. That's what he'd want us to do.

I will honor him in every way I can. He is THE Guardian. He is my Iron Lord. He is Legend.

I'll miss you much, kind sir.

I remember that raid like it was yesterday. Drizzay brought the energy like he always did.

RIP, my friend. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

I'm struggling to take this all in. Just fucking speechless. Reading through this thread has got me teary eyed and just dumbfounded that this has happened. I'll just post this:

My last interaction with him was a couple months ago about him running my account in Trials. I knew he was a nice guy but to do something like this for me and so many others with no questions asked is out of the ordinary these days. I knew I didn't have to worry about him doing something stupid like deleting one of my characters or stealing any of my account info either. Well an hour later I get this screenshot sent to me from him:
28523206854_02cc82333d_o.jpg

Needless to say I was super excited. I had been chasing a Doctrine for weeks and just didn't have the skills to get it myself. I will never delete the loot I got from this and I will never forget how much Drizzay did for us and the Destiny community in general.

RIP man, you will be sorely missed by so many...

I haven't posted in this thread in months, and I'm not sure what to say that others, and those who played with him far more than I had opportunity or good sense to, have already said, but I wanted to add my voice to the chorus of condolences.

The DGAF community and the rest of the world, lost someone special.

I don't know how he did it; the way he would appear when most needed. My best memory of this is HM Crota: we'd struggle for a while and finally have to call in the big gun. Drizz would appear, sword Crota like a fucking ninja not once, but as many times as we needed to get everyone their clears, then take off into the ether to go help more folks like some sort of goddamn superhero.

Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I'd played with him more. I guess I made the same mistake we all tend to, assuming he'd always be there.

Thanks for everything you did for me, our little raid group, and the DGAF community, Drizz.

Fake edit: Man, that Urk tweet. Oof.

Basically chip down the majors (the yellow bar guys) and use it on them in any strike. Wish I could give you a better idea of what strike to choose, I wanna say I did it on Sepiks or Omnigul

RIP Drizzay. You will be missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I can't claim that I knew him, but I'm tearing up right now.

Flawless trophy

That first picture of Drizz in the Crota room is incredible. I'm sure they're tracking, but please make sure Hawkian or Lnkn has it for whatever is put together.

RIP Drizzay. I also haven't posted in this thread in several months like some others, but he was a great dude to play with when I was active in the game, and one of the names I still recognize immediately from DestinyGAF.

My heart goes out to his wife and friends and family, and everyone here who was close to him.

:(

Try it on the Undying Mind strike, on the staircase with all the yellow bar enemies, and at the end when the boss spawns waves of yellow bars. Also wear an alpha lupi for the bonus orb. If your group is chaining supers, it should be pretty easy to get your super up repeatedly, and take out groups of yellows.

R.I.P., Drizzay. Only played with him a few times, but he helped me and another player get through Skolas for our Year 1 Triumphs. He kept us calm and we got through it flawlessly. Was totally gonna ask him for help with COE to do the same this year. Sincerest condolences to his family. You will be missed, fella.

This is just the worst. Drizz was the greatest. He's helped me countless times, and even helped my real life friends who have no connection to GAF. He was a constant presence in the thread, on discord, and twitch chats. Going to have to change my emblem to the flawless cat he got me. You're already missed.

GG.

When I saw the news this afternoon I was absolutely knocked off my feet. It's taken me a long time to gather my thoughts. There's not much I can say that others haven't.

Drizz was an amazing teacher and a calming presence even in his moments of rage. He instilled a sense of confidence in our raids. Everything was going to be okay if he was there. He guided me to become a better player even when I didn't want his advice out of sheer pride. I missed the opportunity to PVP with him which I regret. I never asked for his help since I felt that I caused him enough anguish in PVE. In his passing, I've realized how much I appreciated and respected him as a person. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. Rest in peace.

Thank you Comet for saying what I couldn't

I love this line. Thank you SonComet. This is exactly how Drizz made me feel during Trials. With Drizz on my side there wasn't anything I couldn't accomplish.

I agree, he had that voice and that presence.

My favorite thing mentioned here thus far is about how active he was even in streams. Dude was everywhere. I don't know how he did it.

Let's say I'm a sucker for Handcannons and decided I wanna hit rank 5 IB but I've only just now hit level 2...

Give or take how many hours would it take to go from rank 2 to rank 5 tomorrow?

I think I did the 7 orbs 3 times by resetting the console clock so it spawned me into a strike alone, or something like that. Might want to google it to find the specifics.

OK Destiny-GAF, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but one of our own has passed away

Drizzay (Boguester) aka "Mr. Destiny" died Thursday/Friday due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning (Construction Accident)

He was 33 years old and leaves behind a beautiful wife (only married 3 months), a loving family that he moved back closer to be with

Drizzay, was a great community member of DGAF. He always was a helpful person to anyone that needed it. Always doing his best to push the community here forward with detail information on being a better player himself but for others to use it and become Legends themselves
He never was selfish, always the helpful, caring player who wanted the community to prosper

If you want to leave kind words to the family about Drizzay, you can post on the guestbook:

RIP, my friend. Thank you for the short time I had with you. You went out of your way to help me and use your time so I could play with you. Those gaming nights and mornings! we talked about life and laughing along the way, those memories will stay with me till the end.

Truly am deeply sadden by this news. Drizzay was kind and helpful, when I was new and not as up to par with expectations in game, I only got to play a couple of times with him, However he helped with my 1st kings raid and iron banana....Prayers go out to his loved ones and everyone grieving. He will be very missed. Rip

Truely a sad for destiny and world.
Cannot recollect how many times he has helped me out.
From getting my hunter to lvl 34 ,to getting my how exotics to helping us in oryx raid.
You are the strongest among us and it was an honour running destiny matches with you.
May your star shine the brigest amongst the light rip guardian lord :'(

Drizz helped me beat Skolas last year just so I could earn my Triumphs. He was a true Guardian.

There was nothing in it for him-he didn't need to do that to unlock anything, he just wanted to help a fellow destiny player.

Sorry for your loss, DGAF.
I never played with the man and it sounds like I missed out.

I finally got my Guardian (warlock) up to level 40 this weekend and am sitting at about light level 290-ish.

Didn't know what to go for next, so I started the Touch of Malice quest...I, I think I may have made a mistake. lol

Man, this is some really really rough news. I probably spent somewhere close to 600 hours talking to Drizz while playing Destiny and the dude was a good dude. Hell, I'd say he was probably the best dude. When I made a random post about wanting to skip the lfging and get a weekly team going Drizzay was the guy that made it happen. He essentially pulled together a group of awesome dudes with the sheer force of his kind, easy-going, and warm personality. I didn't do anything besides ride his coat tails but goddamn if they weren't the best coat tails I've ever ridden in hindsight.

The dude was there to laugh at every one of the 8 Thunderlords I got during my year long quest for a Gjallarhorn and always understood where I was coming from. I regret dropping Destiny, because of burn out and fatigue, without saying goodbye to Drizzay, and everyone else, but I always expected to return for DLC or perhaps Destiny 2 to resume the good times. It breaks my heart knowing I'll have to do so without Drizzay now.

Guardian Down...

This may be a bit cheesy - please understand it is NOT my intention - but maybe a way to give a nod to him as such an ardent supporter of all thing Destiny would be to have a weapon or armor perk named after him? Something that gives a boost to certain weapon or armor stats.

The Drizzay - Boost to Impact or Boost to Shields while in close proximity to fireteam.

I dunno. Something.

To DrDrizzay101,

I miss you so much buddy. I can't stop crying today after I found out, and while I continue to get caught up in Discord and this thread, it continues to make me cry. The amount of love you shared with us all is invaluable to all of us guardians.

When I first joined DestinyGAF in November 2014, DrDrizzay101 was the first person to welcome me with open arms. I joined him for dailies or random PvE events. He was then the sword bearer for my first ever Flawless run. I posted this picture on my Facebook on January 11, 2015 when I achieved Guardian Lord:

Y9hYF6X.jpg

He was a guy I admired because not only was he extremely talented in Destiny, he was always very humble, positive, kind, and helpful, which are all qualities of an amazing person. Our relationship continued to build. I was always willing to join him to help with Flawless raids and Trials. He took over people's accounts on XB1 and I was able to join him in helping DGaffers on both consoles and he was ALWAYS appreciative of me helping him, when I was appreciative of him for wanting to help others. I always looked forward to helping people, especially with him.

As many other have stated, he was just everywhere. He was always in our streams supporting and hyping up the chat, if he wasn't actually playing with us and trying to hype up everyone. He was that guy. When I finally made a Discord for all of us to hang out, it was a no brainer for me to make him a mod instantly, and same as for my Stream. Many times he'd be the ONLY one in my stream, supporting me.

He's always give me advice on how to improve and he did the same with everybody who he played with. I always took his advice and I've always been forever thankful for everything he's taught me. I always looked forward to playing with him whether it's PvE or PvP.

Many nights I've stayed up way passed my bedtime on a worknight, helping him carry people to Mercury and I'll always cherish those times. There were times we faced top tier guys for the final boss and conquered it and the feels always made the many attempts worth it and I'm thankful we had someone like him that was ALWAYS willing to help.

Another random memory: when Bloodborne came out, a few of us DGAFfers were in a party, all playing Bloodborne. Drizz had already beaten it and I was stuck on a boss and he quickly offered help. Destiny friendship transcended into other games and that has never happened with me in any other game. I don't know if I would have kept playing this game and stuck with this community if it hadn't been for him welcoming me with open arms and being the person that he was.

I miss him so much.

I didn't know last week's Trials run was going to be our last ;(

Rest in Paradise, buddy. I'm still in denial but you were a closer friend to me and had a huge impact on me than you probably ever knew. This community is as close as it is because of you, and it's the best community I've been apart of and I love you all.

Lastly, I want to leave y'all with this dream I had with him in it and Todd drew:
