How do 360 games on Xbox One generally run? Can we expect this to perform flawlessly or will there be noticeable differences compared to the 360 version?

Some titles run better on the Xbox One, some not. No Screen tearing on the Xbox One thanks to enforced vsync.

X1's BC keeps getting better and better. Hope they add OG Xbox's titles that were on 360 next year...

Also, while the VF characters in DOA5 are fantastic, Sega really needs to make VF6. It's time.

we need Capcom to make their fighting games BC. Seems like everyone else did support (Namco, SNK and now Sega).

Oh, I don't know why but in my head when I read all the "Oneida will shit himself", I thought he was a creator or main developer of the series.

We'd be on Virtua Fighter 20 by now if that were the case. And the games would be taking Sonic's funding and marketing budget.

He's the most recognizable (only?) VF fan on the site.

Recognizable, probably. Certainly not the only. Certainly.

I've been waiting for this since I got my Xbox One last year, because it would just have been icing on the cake of what I got it for. I can play FS again without starting up my PS3!

TTT2 is a good indicator, probably, but I'm reaaaaally hoping there's no lag in this. I put a Brook UFB into one of my older sticks just for such an occasion!

VF5 OH YEAH.

Bring on After Burner and Outrun Sega. You can do it. Even if you have to renew the rights. DO IT.

How good is this game? It's been a very long time that i tried a VF game.
Is this even a type of fighting game I would like? I like DoA more that KI or Tekken.

One of the best fighters ever. If you like DoA, this is the series that inspired it. Similar control scheme. You'll fit right in.

DoA is basically a homage to Virtua Fighter. The systems have enough in common that Virtua Fighter character's were able to be placed into DoA with very little alteration.

Then you will like VF, but it requires a much bigger personal investment compared to DoA.

ok that's cool but sadly all four of my Xbox One d-pads have turned to mush (how this isn't a more talked-about problem is beyond me) and I don't have an arcade stick

PC next.

What's funny is Virtua Fighter has been around since the mid 90's. Yet we are going to get a Yakuza 6, which has only been around since 2005, before we get a Virtua Fighter 6. The irony? Yakuza 6 will have VF5 FS as a playable game within it.

KI is a 2D fighting game (3D graphics, 2D gameplay) and can't really be compared to VF/Tekken/DoA, which are 3D.

I enjoy Tekken the most out of all 3, but it has more complex commands, a higher emphasis on juggle combos, and has more weird/crazy fighting styles than the other 2 games. If you already enjoy DoA more than Tekken, I would not be surprised if you also enjoy VF more.

VF uses fewer buttons in total and has many interesting and effective commands that use simple inputs. I would suggest that anyone could enjoy it. There is a metric shit-ton of depth to be had, but getting started feels very easy. Try it =)

No lie, I feel Dead or Alive 5 has become the more difficult of the two to play decently now. You can have a lot of fun on Virtua Fighter even with pretty garbage dexterity (such as mine).

With the addition of these new titles, there are now over 250 Xbox One Backward Compatible titles available

Where the folks at who said they'd barley support this. 250 isn't massive but it's healthy

I don't think many said they wouldn't support it, but not many would care, and people hailing it as a megaton were being hyperbolic.

Still feel that way, VF5 is a nice addition though.

Would kick a few of you guys butt if we could play together. My Lion is the truth!

I personally find that it is much easier to have a decent level with all characters of DoA once that you understood the overall inputs of the attacks and combos, while VF still requires specific training with each characters because you cannot guess out so easily the combos and attacks.

In short : characters play pretty much all the same in DoA, and this is not as true in VF.

But of course, that's simply my personal experience with the games.

Excellent ! I may prefer the original VF5, but it's already great news. Time to buy a dedicated arcade stick for the bone. :)

Hmm, actually I think I'd agree with you on that. I'd say that whilst I find Dead or Alive's core mechanics to be more complicated these days, it's definitely easier to pick up characters you're unfamiliar with and get them working at a basic level (possibly excluding Mila, who I found awkward as hell at first despite having a basic grasp on Vanessa in VF).

My view of VF character's is a little skewed, as I've been playing as them since forever now, whilst I've stuck to a handful of DoA characters over the years (Ayane, Kokoro and Jann Lee mainly).

Anyone know when this likely to go up for download btw?
