Street Fighter V |OTVI| The More I Know, The Worse I Play

I was actually able to complete the "Win 10 Casual Matches" mission today without much difficulty. I'm sure that's pretty lame to most of you here, but I almost never play fighting games online so I'm pretty pleased about it.

You should be, gj.

I need to play more myself, spend more time talking about the game than fighting.

Speaking of FM, what are the best ways to exploit Survival AI on normal? I've beaten it with Ryu, Ken, Bison, Birdie, Mika, and Rashid, but I can't seem to get past 27 or 28 with anyone else.

There is a pause trick you can do to "react" to the AIs attacks more easily. Mash the pause button and if the whiff something that is punishable you have time to process a damaging counter attack.

I saw it in a tweet a few months back, I will look to see if it is still up so you can watch an example.

Also, if you have full life choose defense up over attack up just in case the AI just wrecks your shit.

I know that with Chun Li, you can easily abuse her d.f MK overhead since it confuse the AI (it will read your input and crouch in anticipation of blocking a low attack and will eat the overhead 90% + of the time).

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I think I'll try that Chun-Li trick first. I can't stand Survival mode, so ideally I'd like to spam my way through it.

Crossup, crossup, crossup. Works with all characters that have crossup so learn a easy few hit combo and go ham. With characters that don't have crossup try to get a knockdown and get a jumpin on their wakeup. AI tries to AA with normals so they eat your attack if timed well enough. FANG and Dhalsim can't just spam projectiles from fullscreen.

j.HK, c.HK
back dash, back dash
repeat
(CA instead of c.HK if you have meter)

rounds 1-20(ish): always buy attack boost (makes rounds go faster), or High/Full health if you're low
round 20(ish)-30: always buy health (even low/medium) or Defense if you're still above 75% or so

Works for pretty much everybody but it gets tougher in the final few rounds. Then it still works about half the time. I just turn on fight request and join an online match if the round isn't working out.

You'll probably still get a few heart breakers but you'll eventually complete the cast on normal using this method.

(there are probably more efficient ways but this worked well enough for me and didn't require any brain power.)

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I think I'll try that Chun-Li trick first. I can't stand Survival mode, so ideally I'd like to spam my way through it.

I def used j.HK, c.HK to bust through Chun's normal survival. Maybe throw in some v-skill stomps if you're feeling squirly.

Wow, after its launch I didn't expect to see SF in a Sony advert again.

I hope this means season 2 is going to really be special if someone's willing to fire up the marketing machine again.

Capcom has said time and time again that they're in it for the long haul with this game.

And Sony pretty much helped make both this year's CPT as well as the game itself happen, they're gonna be chummy for the rest of this game's life.

I bet they re-release Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition to go along with the arcade SFV relase in Japan. Will include all S1 characters (maybe stages too) but will basically just be a "GOTY edition" DLC collection so the online community isn't split.

Doesn't break their promise of "no Super/Turbo" editions and has the word "arcade" in the title to drive home that there's an arcade mode because I guess that's a really big deal or something. Plus it still fits in with naming conventions of previous games.

There were plenty of characters in the PS4 launch trailer that have yet to get games like Parappa the Rapper... most likely just an aesthetic choice since Blanka is easier to recognize as a bright green puppet.

What I take away from it is Sony is committed to supporting Street Fighter V past Season 1... which is great! I'm hoping this means CPT will be getting at least another $500,000 for 2017.

They can put Akuma on the box and gg.

Somehow every Cammie I fight is the laggiest thing every.

I don't know if it's because British players main her and I'm in the States, but it's ALWAYS Cammie. Never happened with any other character

Well yeah, they've been putting out a constant stream of teaser/reveal trailers for those already following the game, but it's quite another thing to get a spot in a big-budget production like we just saw. Nice to see, really.

If nothing else, Sony's likely gonna come back as the sponsor for the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour. Hell, maybe Capcom has big plans for Street Fighter V Season 2.

As for Blanka, while him being featured in the ad isn't confirmation, it does increase his chances.

This could work.

Wow, just made it into silver! So happy right now, even though I probably gonna lose it quickly. But I know now I can get there again.

Gonna stop ranked for tonight, anyone up for some relaxing evening matches?

I want to know why, in Training mode, overhead attack levels are labeled "MID," while non-lows and non-overheads are "HIGH."

This messed with me so much in the beginning. Went into training mode, tested some attacks and was so happy they hit as overheads...Then I found out the truth shortly after.

Edit: Oops, double post
