EA Will Bring “One of their Bigger Games” To Nintendo Switch

Reported by Dualshockers:
Following Switch’s announcement video, EA was confirmed as one of many partners on board with Switch. However, no specific titles have been announced thus far. While that may be so, we’ll be seeing at least one of EA’s projects on Nintendo’s new system, and it’ll be a significant one.

At the UBS Global Technology Conference, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen teased:

“In terms of Nintendo, in their announcement they announced that we’ll be supporting with a game or two on that new platform. We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games we’ve been involved with.”

“We’re excited for Nintendo, it’s an interesting device, but I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be, and will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have.”

Sounds like they're testing the waters with one of their bigger games, I hope this doesn't mean a late Battlefield One port. Mass Effect or Fifa seem like strong candidates, either way it's promising that Switch is getting a port of what is likely an Xbox One/PS4 release.

Emily Rogers also Tweeted the article, Switch me out if old.

// Mod Edit:

Mass Effect is probably not a good guess: https://s25.postimg.org/meuloywf3/Untitled23.jpg

Fifa for those sweet FUT microtransactions. Who'd buy Mass Effect on the Switch if you had other options? By the time the sequels come out the platform will most likely be already abandoned by EA.

I was about to say "hoping for Mass Effect" but then I realised I won't be buying it on switch even if it is released, PS4 most likely, or PC.

What the switch needs is full support by the EA sports titles. No half measures. Full titles lacking no content.

Sports game for sure. After getting burned on ME3 for Wii U I can't see them trying to put a game like ME Andromeda or a new Dragon Age on the Switch until it's proven to be a hit and that 3rd party games will sell on it.

They're not going to bother porting Madden on the old engine. FIFA is way more likely, and also global.

BioWare has already said they don't have plans for Mass Effect on the Switch.

The issue with this is that if they're trying to gauge interest in EA games on the Switch, porting something that's been out for months doesn't provide a good barometer for actual interest as the game has been out for months and has probably already been purchased by the consumer who is interested in it.

For example, I'd love to play Fifa on the Switch, but I already own it, just like I already own Battlefield and Titanfall. Why would I buy one of those games again? I really hope they don't try and use whatever game they're releasing as a test case that really isn't indicative of real platform interest.

I would buy any multiplatform game on the Switch assuming it runs well, being able to take it anywhere is a huge selling point over my PS4.

Mass Effect Andromeda

WiiU did get Mass Effect 3 at launch

If they are not talking about launch, then Star Wars Battlefront 2

Star Wars. It has a history on Nintendo platform.

This makes sense. Not because of the company's history, but because of the increased customer base.

Since the Switch is surely underpowered compared to the Xbone, I wouldn't be upset if EA stepped back from the ultra-hyper-gorgeous visuals from Battlefront when making its sequel. If they can bring back the seamless air-sky gameplay, I'd be fine with reduced visuals.
