I had my Tranquil Boots destroyed once by a CM who had ward vision of my camp. She attacked from out of vision and I didn't notice the small attack projectile until it had destroyed my boots. I was even hovering my cursor over the boots

That's why you drop them where you're about to stand to tank the creeps so it's really hard to target then

Very interesting Teamplay AF brings to the table. Overall it seems that they could profit a lot from the new direction Dota wants to go in future in terms of 7.0 and more teamplay orientation.

Did I miss something? Why are people assuming Dota's new direction is teamplay oriented?

I think this would make Dota worse. If we're going off recent patches, that's dumb as we've gone teamplay before.
