Good on MS for an amazing feature. I don't care if people use it religiously or occasionally... You can't beat free.

It's a great reason to own an Xbone. It helps when the games I don't already own are usually pretty cheap. Got Oblivion a few days ago for only $15 and that's what I've been playing lately.

Yeah, a game like VF5 Final Showdown deserves a second look on X1.

BC gave me a chance to play through Undead Nightmare (RDR), have to say its an amazing feature. Really well done, adds tremendous value to the platform and respects the time you invested into the 360.

For me it just reinforces the message of moving away from generations, having future platforms fully compatible is a great idea.

Shouldn't that speak to the quality of your console's games (or today's games) more than anything else?

There are so many games out there releasing almost every week and people would rather play 360 games?

Wtf you babbling about. Ppl play whatever tha @$!# they want. If i want to pop in a 360 gm aaaand its BC, good for me! That doesn't speak a damn thing about consoles quality, its just a nice bonus or a cherry on top. Dat @$!# logic by a grown ass PS4 fanboys.

Have and luv both consoles which i have 4 ( 2 of each ) hooked up throughout the house and both unique in its own way..Kinna getting tiring and fn annoying seeing/reading X1 being put down 24/7 here on these forums.

This thread does make it seem like it's OK now.
Yea I mean some of the stuff on the first page.. wow.

I don't understand why the hate or salt towards BC. It's a fantastic feature and gives you the option to replay old games you love or others that you may have missed or didn't finish. I hope Xbox continues to add more 360 games and maybe even OG xbox games since I never had an OG. Hopefully this is the future for all xbox consoles and they can all play all xbox generation games, much like computers can play any old games you want.

yup, played Fallout 3, New Vegas, RDR, Viva Pinata (+TiP), South Park and Toy Soldiers for the first time thanks to BC. Hope they add C&C soon.

People out here concern trolling.

BC was an awesome move by MS at E3 and they've really come through. Its a really great feature and I'm glad at least one of the three major console players did not forget about MS.

I'm still amazed at how they pulled this off. How many games are bc now? It seems like there are 3 or 4 new ones every week or so.

300+ and new ones being added almost weekly. In addition, with GWG you usually get 2 360 BC games a month. There are some games I never played that I got through GWG so it has been a great program for me to experience games I never played before.

About 300 at the moment. Much better than their Xbox BC initiative they tried to do in the 360 era.

Holy @#$+! I would have guessed 100.

This success should make more than just Xbox owners happy because it sends an important that bc is not just a demand, its a feature that will be heavily used if implemented correctly.

MS really killed it with this. It feels great to pop in some old game I missed and play with increased quality.

They should honestly launch some sort of BC subscription service for access to a large set of BC games for say $20? Sure you would have to fully download the games you want to play but you also bypass all the setbacks of reduced image quality, lag and high bandwidth requirements with a game streaming service.

Also the increased revenue might be a nice carrot to get publishers to approve more games for the feature.

Does this include anyone that played Rare Replay?
Because... *crickets*

I looked at some disreputable site for numbers on Rare Replay, and they weren't more than 1mil.

My comment isn't even the ballpark of mattering! :D

On Topic: I still plan on playing Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, as I never got around to them on x360. I'm hoping to at least make a dent in one of them over Christmas break.

Of course this very simple-to-understand fact is lost upon many, many people.
lmao

Gaming politics has minds so twisted in here that they can't even acknowledge how much of a value BC adds to the Xbox One as a console. SMH

The only thing it speaks to is that people enjoy playing games that they own.

I think what he/she meant to say was, "why else would people play last gen games (that you paid for years ago) when you could pay a streaming service to play the games you might have already bought?

There are a lot of bc titles already that Ive never played until now, several for free. Great games. Hard to pass up free.

Hell half my 360 library has never been touched. Many of those are bc.

Wonderful feature. They gotta keep them coming.

I had a lot going in my life at the time LO and Blue Dragon came out. When I had time to get into LO my Disk 2 was damaged and I never got farther than disk one. On Blue Dragon I only played like 2 hours and other things happened to not allow me to play, but with BC I am able to enjoy these games and my busted disk 2 on LO does not matter because all I need is to have disk 1 in the drive. I never played much of RDR and with BC I have played about half of it. It has been great for me.

Jesus some people in this thread... How can you possibly hate on something like BC? I mean fuck if anything you should like it so it pushes your preferred console corporation to make something like this happen.

Anyways, congrats Phil and everyone involved at MS who made this happen and giving me the chance to play the Mass Effect series. Guess I should thank EA too for adding those games to the EA Access Vault.

Damn guys, it was the first thing that pop into my mind, why else would people play last gen games? (that you already passed 3 years ago mind you)

Obviously because there are no good new gen games at the moment or they are waiting for new games to come out. Right?

Must explain why you're so into PS Now.

Yea I said this recently when Christmas comes my kids will have a good handful of games to play thanks to BC.

Thanks MS!!

I can't wait for Xbox originals to appear, I hope XO are a reality someday.
Ugh yeah, I wouldn't mind giving Black another go. <3

Also, I do enjoy reading console war shitposting for shits and giggles, but after reading the first page I got solid evidence that some shit here is fair game if it's directed to Microsoft/Xbox.

So all of the GwG 360 titles have been backwards compatible (since the latter became a thing)? That's pretty dang smart. Subs get the full value out of the program (PS/Vita titles were wasted on me during my time w/ Plus), & it's not like MS needs to care about pushing hardware sales of its last-gen console.

My Xbox One basically only gets use at this point because of backwards compatibility so major props for that also improving framerates, load times and v-sync issues on the games as well!

I almost have no need for Xbox One games at this point because only like 3-4 console exclusive titles I ever cared about came out/are coming out for it. So my Xbox One is now my official Xbox 360 and I don't ever think it will be anything more for the foreseeable future.

.

I think these are really good points that have gotten lost in the discussion.

Not only is MS doing work with BC, but they are actually providing a better experience.

EDIT:
The main things I would like to see improved:
When 1st announced, Spencer said all 1st party games would be BC. I would think we would have seen almost all by now, maybe I'm being unrealistic.

Also, please let us buy Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey digitally.

If I want to play Xbox 360 games, I have a console for that and it's the Xbox 360. ;p

I haven't tried any backward compatible game on the XB1 and apart from Rare Replay, I don't think I ever will. MAYBE, I might play the Mass Effect games.

Having the option there is good for those who no longer have a 360 or just want to get rid of the console. Can't hate on that.

Even if you have a 360, it's pretty great playing games at better performance. Red Dead runs much better than the 360 version.

This will come as a shock but people play even NES, SNES, Genesis, PC Engine, Atari, PSX, Saturn games. Weird, right?

Yup.

On the 360 I still play The Saboteur, NFS Undercover, Midnight Club, Red Dead Redemption...I could go on.

Still might play GTA 4 again at some point.

Hopefully every 360 game makes the BC list.

Black needs some love. I just want to play morrowind.

You know what? I hope they also bring MDOS ports as well, I wouldn't mind playing the mainline Elder Scrolls on XB1. 😂
