Cool trailer. I'm like 80% convinced I need this game. Either a solid showing of gameplay during that upcoming stream or full reveal of Swamp Thing (maybe both at the same time) I think will be the final clincher.

Of course it will. But it happens for literally every game that receives a continuous stream of DLC and it's not a constructive thing to say in threads for those games either.

This isn't the case. Both types of fighters are listed in separate categories on the official website for the various editions of the game.
For instance, the Ultimate Edition comes with 9 DlC Characters PLUS 3 "Alternate" skins for pre-existing characters, transforming Supergirl, Flash and Green Lantern into Power Girl, Anti-Flash and John Stewart respectively.
EDIT: Beaten with a baseball bat.
