Looks incredible. If scorpio dissapoints, this just sold me on a gaming rig. Wow

I just hope it launches in a far better state than pcars1

If they manage to actually hit 60fps most of the time on consoles and don't release a broken mess like the first game was before dozens of patches, I might get it early instead of a deep sale years from launch day.

Loved the big touring car races, and helmet cam experience of the first game, but holy hell was it buggy at launch and needed endless tuning to get it feeling even close to right on a controller. Here's hoping for a more polished experience with PC2 so I can just focus on the racing.

The lighting is stunning, and the weather affects look great, hopefully the rest of the game is up to the same level.

Really can't wait for this. I think controller guys should be a lot more satisfied this time around from what I've played.

I was so ready to post up my screenshots of the game with this trailer announcement, then we were told NOPE! Everything's got to come through them.

Now THAT's how to do a reveal trailer.

Nice music too. <I'm looking at you, GT Sport reveal trailer>

Is it just me or does that snowy mountain track remind anyone else of the track in Forza 3? Naturally it wasn't snowy, but I did love that track.

It's crazy that SMS will have managed to release 2 games on the PS4 before we even get the prologue version of GT for this generation.

Actually, I take it back, it's not crazy, it's just straight up disappointing.

Included. Press had a VR-hands on actually last week on a trip to Laponia, where they also had a chance to drive on a real track that is featured in the game.

The hands on was on PC though, so no news on PS VR, but SMS was aiming to include support.

It is.

Very excited if we get PC VR support day 1!

If they are truly happy with game pad implementation this time round, after the debacle that was PCars 1 in that regard, then I think that they should stand by their laurels and release a pre-release console beta / demo, and let us be the judge of that.

Pretty much all I was thinking during the trailer:

- that "brown leafs in fall"-idea some rFactor modders had, is becoming a thing
- ok, Mercedes AMG, but we had the GT3 version in pCARS 1
- That Corvette was DLC in pCARS 1
- Acura... interesting
- GT-R GT3... mmmph driven that in every other sim under the sun already
- Pagani is in... again

... where are all the hot new licenses? Ferrari, Porsche Lamborghini? Rally cars? Where are the touring classics? All these cars are so modern...

I think I preferred the leaked trailer. This seems like they tried to save a ton of new stuff for more announcements to build hype.

There is still time later for that, but I had the marketing focused on going after the guys who only buy one racing game a year at the most and convince them that pCARS2 has more of the stuff they like than GT Sport will.

Change of ToD, dynamic weather, single-player career, "normal" cars you might be able to take to a trackday yourself (a Golf, a Civic, Cayman, Impreza etc.) and super-cars like Ferrari 488, new Audi R8... and then some super iconic classics the Group B Quattro (on an offroad track), a Stratos, Moby Dick, Mercedes 300 SLR, McLaren Honda MP4/4... also: show more tracks, overwhelmingly fast paced shots of the gazillion tracks that will be in the game. And show off amazing sound that GT Sport is still lacking. That's what I would do, try to eat PD's lunch, because otherwise it will be pretty hard to sell more than the 2 million copies from the last time around.

It's great to see them pushing the dynamic weather and tod, it was already a selling point for me in pc1, and seems that they are doubling down on them, useless to say that I'm super disappointed by the GT Sport situation on this subject.

I'm very interested to know their approach to the physic, after Assetto Corsa I need a more refined model, but way more important is the FFB implementation: needs a huge improvement over the 1st game, it's literally a buy or skip topic for me.

Last thing that isn't clear from the trailer, are they laser scanning the tracks?

I mean, there was a very large quality gap track by track inside the 1st game, some circuit like Monza was a pretty gross interpretation of the real thing.

Gamespot preview/interview: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/project-cars-2-is-striving-to-be-the-racing-simula/1100-6447660/

"We've got a great big database of all the reviews and stuff that came in [for Project Cars] along with who did the review, the links, and the number out of ten," Tudor explained. "But the most important column is the 'notes' column which says things like, 'They thought the gamepad handling was too hard' or 'They wished they were more cars' and that is a great to-do list right there."

The most ambitious new addition in Project Cars 2 is a geographically-accurate and dynamic solar and weather system.

The developers and I joked that with all the painstaking work going into replicating true-to-life dynamic environments, most people wouldn't even be able to appreciate the subtleties unless they implemented a low performance racing mode with cars that couldn't break the speed limit so easily. "Funny you should say something like that," Tudor remarks. "We can't talk about it just yet."

The other big, albeit less visibly dramatic change in Project Cars 2 is in how the game simulates tires.

Regarding the original simulations, Viljoen admitted: "There were areas that we knew needed improvement, and one of them was when you push the car beyond the limit. When you go over the edge, the way the slip curve of the tyre works made it a bit difficult for people to catch the car when it goes sideways. In Project Cars 2 we've added additional types of grip simulations, where we accurately simulate how it affects the handling of the car when the tire is moving across the track surface when it's not rolling.

One thing that isn't changing, despite some criticisms, is the team's approach in having every car and track available to players from the beginning. It's staunchly different to other titles in the racing genre, where earning currency for vehicle and track unlocks are typical to create a sense of progression. "We're not going to gate cars and tracks because that's the fun thing you actually play with," Tudor said. Vilijoen added: "If you want to step straight into Tier One, you can go for it. There are still things you can unlock, but that's bonus stuff, they're not core to the game.

Check the link for the full stuff.

Fuck a duck, why are these jokers putting 30fps videos up?

What is this, 1972? Jesus.

Edit: Sorry for DP, my fucking eyeballs are bleeding.
lol, the third video is showing the exhaust bug (that lighting-like blue light that iluminates the cockpit).

What I noticed from the gameplay footage:
- the track surface (which looked like dry chalk in pCARS 1) still looks really dry but MUCH better now
- the tire squeal stayed the same and I still find it atrocious
- the display in the AMG GT3 still has no ABS-setting, just TC. Meaning that we'll probably not be able to change the ABS, at least not from the cockpit.
