I'll answer that , you can explain the game flaws and failures in a meaningful way.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an incredible game. Guerrilla has managed to find a perfect balance between creating an extremely challenging and deep Action RPG whilst still managing to make it accessible to almost any gamer. It’s without doubt the most beautiful game on PlayStation 4, set in a world that’s full of life and intrigue. There’s definitely some minor issues with the game, but at the end of the day, Horizon Zero Dawn reminds me why I love games. I was able to get lost in the world for hours on end, fighting bad-ass machines without a care in the world.

I think it helps that even bough the open world is pretty standard that most of the bloat is gone and it's more streamlined with mostly things that affect the gameplay directly

Damnit, same! I didn't expect such strong reviews, figured I'd wait until a few months pass with it being 2 days before the Switch / Zelda. Now with these reviews... I don't know what to do.

Add me to this lol. I was expecting low to mid 80s and figured I'd just wait til a good sale/after MK8 deluxe. Now I don't know. And the REALLY bad part is that the game is kinda long, so completing a 50+ hour game in 3 days without rushing and still living your life is borderline impossible.

I'm not saying this to incite anything, but BotW seems like it will. Skyward Sword got 93, and even considering generally lower scores for this gen I can't see BotW getting less that 90.

There are always going to be contrasting opinions, but I'm finding that the guys I typically share common opinions with are praising it, so personally I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not saying the story is bad, to note, just that even people who disliked it didn't seem to give negative marks for that. The negative scores seem to stem from people who are fed up with standard open world game design.

Not to diminish this since I thought Killzone Mercenary was way better than I expected considering how apathetic I normally am to the franchise, but wasn't that made by Guerilla Cambridge, who made RIGS before getting shutdown? I figured they were basically a different studio, but I could be wrong.

You are correct. Guerilla proper did make Liberation though and that was good.
