I did the same, but can't share images because I'm a junior member?
My pads were from a local Poundland store (UK)

Oh boy, this again. This is also why you don't want Nintendo making VR hardware.
I'm glad it's not just me having these issues. What does feel like it could be an issue to me, is how the straps for the Joycons slide in easily but seem pretty damn hard to slide out without using some amount of force. I reaaaaaaaaally don't want to break my Joycons like Giant Bomb did. It's kinda odd that they slide so easily in and out of the Switch itself when you use the buttons at the back, but with the straps it's almost like... something not clipping quite right.

Actually I think Nintendo might do an opt-in mail program where they send out custom-made soft liners for the dock to whoever wants one. For free of course.
It's the best way to solve this shit imo.
This one is called the dock sheathWaiting for my official Nintendo dock condoms
There's are definitely more than 2 pictures out there. Jesus. This is definitely a problem but I don't think it's as widespread as people think. After monitoring this thread and reddit only glix and that youtube guy reported scratches with pictures. And that youtube guy mentioned he has scratches because couldn't find the free screen protectors given to him by some company. Hm?
It's good to have preventative measures I suppose, but it's not definite that the dock with cause scratches. Maybe if you're careless.

And glad we got another "careless users" comment in there, too.
So we're back to tinfoil hat conspiracies and blaming the customer?
The ride never ends.

If people are still confused, run back a few pages and you'll see a guy who measured his problematic dock. Not every dock has this issue, but use his guide to see if yours will be one of those.
Nice, where did you source them please?
Is that the stuff you put on your furniture's legs so it doesn't scratch your floor?
I wonder if that's soft enough not to scratch the screen over time
While I'm not a fan of the dock, there is just no way you can get those sorts of scratches in a corner from inserting the switch into the dock.
They're lying.
Cool thanksI found some at Target. Self adhesive felt pads. All they had was an assorted pack for 5$ but it has small ones included that fit perfectly.
Felt is felt. No scratches so far. I licked it. Very soft. Don't judge me.
Can you specify which page I went back looking aand couldn't find it.
Folks, I think I've found one of the contributing factors and why it seems hit and miss for some users to have no issues and others to have lots.
While it's subtle at a glance, the front plate actually bends inwards gently, making it tighter at the top then at the bottom, and since the slotted plastic tabs on either side run almost to the top, what you're getting is a pinch point where the screen has a higher chance of touching the screen, I measured with digital calipers and the depth of the dock at the bottom was 51.3mm, at the top it was 47.8, a difference of 3.5mm, meaning you have 1.75mm less space either side of the console at the top than you do at the bottom, and the severity of the bend will no doubt differ from unit to unit.
If it was perfectly straight you would have a slot that was 19mm wide from top to bottom, but at least for my dock, it isn't. I will not be surprised if many others (especially those that have scratches) find the front panel of theirs bows inwards too

There's also a fake-outrage force for every single aspect of the Switch though.
It's kind of funny to me that there are so many people screaming HOW DARE YOU NINTENDO and I'm sitting here enjoying the fuck out of Zelda and kind of feeling bad for the people who care so much about this kind of stuff.
Screen scratching is at least kind of, potentially, a real issue. Less sad than the people pretending to care about Netflix and Miiverse.
Astroturfing at it finest.
There's a photo running of 2 screens with different color temperatures, so what's seemingly a calibration issue, and we can't possible know from a photo which is the more accurate one, is already transformed into a "3DS lottery" situation where some panels were IPS and others were TN. Which seems bunk. What's everyone referring to when they're talking about a "bad screen"? Are some of them flawed in some way? How can I tell?
Is it astroturfing if you're not getting paid?

If the issue is really the displays not being properly calibrated, unfortunately there's no settings to do it ourselves yet.
is this post fake outrage?
