Man, Akuma just looks so much better in Tekken 7. Combined with some pretty fantastic animations, he's just so much better than SFV Akuma overall.

It's a shame that Street Fighter is the biggest name in fighting games, because Tekken is hype as hell and is more enjoyable to watch in general.

Tekken doesn't have the depth of SF, Tekken is the game you play at a party with your drunk friends to have fun (especially TTT2) but i find SF more fun to play in the long term.

Am i missing something? Why was Poongko v Bronson best of 5, yet Pling v Rip was best of 3?

Edit: Looking at the NCR rules, KoV 14 finals matches are 3 of 5. I didn't see a Tekken rules list, but I'm guessing Tekken is the same setup as KOV 14

"All matches are best 2 out of 3 games
Winner's Finals, Loser's Finals, and Grand Finals are best 3 out of 5 games"

I'd argue it goes in a different direction than SF.

Either way, SF being more popular doesn't really matter. SF is speadheading fighting games into esports, meaning more people coming into the genre, and once Tekken launches NB is gonna support the hell out of it. And more players are starting to play more games at the same time, so you'll probably see more people playing both.

Every fighting game can seem lacking depth when you don't understand what's happening at high level.

True and I'm all in for fighting becoming more mainstream as an esport.

marvel infinite gonna bring the hype. I hope they don't release it until it is done. it could bring a lot of new people to fighting games just due to how big Marvel is now

Marvel's problem is that it's super hectic, so the community better get on those tutorial videos and making things real easy because that's one game that's real hard for people to grasp.

I don't find 3D fighters fun to watch, even the duller SFV is much more exciting to me then Tekken. To each his own I guess.

Yikes, even when I thought this stuff years ago I wouldn't dare to say it out loud because I don't know shit about these other games. I still don't and have become more open minded. And the open minded part pretty much just means I'm not going to say much or anything at all unless I actually know enough to criticize. it.

Unless they simplify it, seems like it's the direction they're going.

Marvel Infinite is going to be a lot simpler and less hectic with no assists.

That said the community is severely lacking in the tutorial department for the game especially Marvel 3. I don't know how anyone can get into the game at this stage of the game without having an expert coaching them.
