Fighting Tournament Weekend: Norcal Regionals CEO Dreamland Hypespotting 04/14-04/16

Unless they simplify it, seems like it's the direction they're going.

Yeah, but even the most simple looking and playing Versus game is still far more hectic than most other 2D fighters. TvC is still sort of confusing and it's pretty simple (IIRC, I never really got into it).

Bronson gonna get this stream banned... lol!

Marvel Infinite is going to be a lot simpler and less hectic with no assists.

That said the community is severely lacking in the tutorial department for the game especially Marvel 3. I don't know how anyone can get into the game at this stage of the game without having an expert coaching them.

I keep forgetting no assists! Is that confirmed? Is the secondary character not allowed to jump in at all?

And yeah, current marvel is so hard. I was never good, and I tried getting into it recently and my mind is melting. Still like playing it to mash though.

Oh man Bronson please.

Tekken doesn't have the depth of SF, Tekken is the game you play at a party with your drunk friends to have fun (especially TTT2) but i find SF more fun to play in the long term.

You're kinda implying that fun and depth are mutually exclusive with your dig at Tekken but then doubling back to SF being both deep and fun in the very next thought.

2v2 NO assists. And yeah Marvel 3 is a very hard game, don't beat yourself over it lol.

Think of it as SFXT with air dashes/combos.

Are there still characters left to be revealed in 7 because I'm wondering if my last main is going to come back. I can adjust, but I'd go with who I was best with if I can.

I disagree.
Marvel Inf will most likely suck. Capcom will dumb it down to the point where all creativity is lost. Really hope I'm wrong and Capcom for once learned something.

The whole make shit easier and simpler mentality did not work at all for SFV which sold a fuck ton worse than SF4.

Edit: I need Marvel Inf to be godlike. Please for the love of fuck CAPCOM don't screw it.

Local players wanted to introduce us to Marvel, but already invested in KoF XIII and TTT2 at the time, this looked like a nightmare and I did not insist. I may test the upcoming game though.

SFV "simplicity" got nothing to do with the bad sales.

I guess i worded it wrong i just meant i enjoy Tekken casually with friends offline (Tekken usually has an easier learning curve), but i enjoy playing SF as my main fighting game. The depth part i guess you could say it's from my own experience and as someone mentioned above without good knowledge of the game all the high level play seems like it lacks the depth.

For veterans, I hope so. Lei and Julia missing from the roster feels wrong.

It's confirmed There's two special
guest
characters coming post-launch with the season pass

Okay that new marvel sounds bretty gud. I'm in dat when it drops.

Also numbers for SFV for sure are going to be lower than last year even with the whole "fresh game smell" difference. It's almost 10 here and tomorrow's a work day.

Damn.

No doubt the Anti-consumer package Capcom put out was a disgrace but what is telling now is that people Pro and casual continue to shit on the games core gameplay and simplicity and lack of depth even after content was added which has def turned people off from buying it.

Man that sounds awfully familiar.

SFV being simple didn't tank sales. SF4 was seen as baby's first fighting game by the pros and it didn't tank sales at all.

And if depth were really why people bought a game, VF would be leading in the fighting game community and that game is empty chairs city

After that Marvel and Tekken top 8 I hope SFV delivers the entertainment factor.

We got Punk and Du in there so at least some entertainment will be had.

what turned off people from buying it was the game was released in Pre-Alpha. most people like the way the game played you can even see it from reviews. fighting games sales are very front loaded unless you're NRS. even if they added all the content in later it was too late for most people.

The variety right now is crazy. I'm super excited to see a fucking Nash in Top 8. Fuudo's Mika play is amazing, and Punk's spacing is ridiculous. LPN is entertaining because he always chokes after going super hard.

Should be good, although I wanted to get more Tokido and less Gamerbee (I don't like his Necalli that much)/.

SF4 earned it's respect as a complex fighting game. Yes, people talked shit about it but once they broke down the engine in later games people figured out the game was not only complex but allowed good amount of creativity too.

Also, never said depth was only reason to buy a game. But, I def think the lack of complexity hurt SFV word of mouth somewhat of course the biggest thing is as an overall package the game will never escape its horrible launch.

Tekken is deeper than SF period....

Doesn't mean it's better, just chill with the ignorant statements
