Hard to get too excited. I do remember the presidential election.

That said, I'm trying to remain optimistic.

That seems bad...

The election was probably decided well in advance of this incident because of mail-in voting. Dickface will win, Paul Ryan will give some meaningless "the people of Montana have spoken" tweet, he'll get a slap on the wrist by a Republican judge, and then he'll go off to help Trump pass hard right legislation.

The problem is that the Quist favorable precincts are the ones reporting in. Quist is barely ahead and all the rural areas still have yet to report.

If Quist loses by double digits, then democrats need to stop trying to appeal to rural voters ever.

I suppose that this is the right thread to ask.

What politics podcasts do you people listen to? I'm aware of that many. All I have are NPR politics, fivethirtyeight. Those two don't really cover enough.

Mine is Up First, The Daily, 538, Pod Save America, NPR Politics, and Slate Political Podcast (and on occasion, Trumpcast).

I also love The Weeds, but that is usually more policy-oriented. Ezra Klein is bae.

I work tonight, so I'll be following along during my downtime.

Trump won Montana by 20.

Given that midterms are always referendums on the president's party, a loss by less than 10 means that 2018 is going to be a massive blue wave

If a candidate beating the shit out of a reporter doesn't get Democrats out in droves then I don't know what will :(

2/3 of the vote was already in before yesterday due to early voting. Which makes this result even more worrisome for the GOP if it's only a single digit win

Early returns are likely early votes. Either way it's early.

Everyone needs to resist the urge to constantly draw conclusions based on insufficient data.

Big Horn is majority Native American.

So did none of them just bother to show up? Like how the hell do you go from voting for Hillary to have Gianforte be up 20 points?
