Nintendo Spotlight Presentation (their E3 conference) to be 30 Minutes in length

After watching Xbox drag on and on and ON tonight, 25 minutes could actually be refreshing. As long as it's well paced. 5 minutes of 1 game would ruin it.

I like to keep expectations low so:

Key Reveals= Release dates (e.g. Mario in November, Xenoblade 2 in 2018)

First Looks = Rabbids have costumes if Mario characters, app lets you chat with people in Splatoon 2.

It's fine to keep your expectations low but Nintendo have used "First Look" as "Brand new games" in the past (see last page) so it's kind of baseless pessimism there.

Why is Nintendo so bad at hyping their E3 stuff : (

Is gonintendo a banned site? Reggie said there will be a lot of love for the 3DS and majority of the spotlight is for Mario Odyssey and key reveals.

I don't expect more than 5-7 games in the spotlight.

He said Spotlight is going to be fast paced and have number of first looks alongside with focus in Mario Odyssey. First hour Treehouse is also going to have some new game reveals.

Why you think this is bad? I think this is much more better then saying we gonna have the best confrence ever and too many games and such, they having realistic expectations.

I mean best exmaple, look at the 2 last pages. Some people where convinced code Vein is comming out for switch for whatever reason. Imagine nintendo said lot of japanese games, people would be super angry at nintendo for saying this.

Reggie said spotlight is gonna be quick paced and there is gonna be game reveals besides that which got me exited.

I think nintendos approach is good and i like it a lot.

Was banned. Quite a while ago. Not anymore

I prefer they show all their games on the initial Direct since that's when people tune in, not everybody will stick around for the Tree house stuff, but let see how they roll.

Wonder if they'll have developer stories in the Spotlight. They might just move that to the Treehouse.

I would like to see the Spotlight be a rapid-fire mashup. 25 games in 25 minutes set to an straight fire orchestral and chip-tune opera medley of Nintendo's most famous themes. Reveals. First looks. Highlights. A message from my mom. Everything you could ever want.

Then at the end, it's a hard cut to black. Is it over? Suddenly, a sound. A voice. And some music. It is ever so quiet, like a breeze through a lilac bush.

"Hello there!" says the voice.

"Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Oak! People call me the Pokémon Professor!"

The figure comes into view. It's Professor Oak, performed by American actor David Duchovny.

"This world is inhabited by creatures called Pokémon! For some people, Pokémon are pets. Other use them for fights. Myself… I study Pokémon as a profession."

Professor Oak discharges a Poké Ball. A Pikachu appears.

There is beat of silence.

"And just who are you supposed to be?" says the Pikachu, voiced by the unmistakable Danny Devito.

Long conferences/Directs are the worst. The Xbox presser reminded me why I almost never watch these things anymore.

I don't care how much Nintendo has to show on Tuesday. Whether it's five games or fifty, I'm very happy the Spotlight is short.

Like last year with Zelda, Super Mario Odyssey will be enough to outdo MS conference. Anything else is a bonus. Nintendo has one less competitor this holiday. XOX isn't going to take gamer's money away.

Urgh. The only unannounced 3DS game revealed tomorrow is MHXX.

What kind of stuff did they announce in the past few years? I remember them doing so, but can't think of the titles at the moment

Rhythm Heaven Megamix. It was also a shadow drop which was awesome.

Ever Oasis, a Mario Party 3DS game, Rhythm Heaven Megamix (for the west) were all announced on Treehouse Live last year.

They announced Fantasy Life another year.

Excuse me. You are murdering my fantasy. Please refrain from bringing me paralyzing sadness unless absolutely necessary.

it was too good of a pitch, this way you gonna be not that dissapoitend if it happens, it s for the best

Yeah and I love this format, because it's easy to tune out for awhile when they're showing something I'm not interested in.

yup treehouse idea was genius

Highly unlikely but I hope for Xenoblade X port for Switch.

if the delay rumor is true i think this actually very likely

The number of Japanese games not coming to Switch is pretty surprising. I'm not sure why Nintendo couldn't secure more support from Japan.
If I had to guess, it's that most developers in general are still on the fence about the Switch, and want about a year to see how it and their games do. After all, Nintendo is coming off the heels of a console that not only bombed commercially, but also damaged its reputation with developers. The Switch needs to gain more traction for them in order to fully commit.
