DRG and BLM look like they have good AoE meanwhile SMN and SCH's were nerfed despite being (IMO) a core part of their identity :/

The randomly turning it into a level 62 skill (in place of Intervention) seems random as hell as well.

People down a little on Revolution, but I was half way through the second page of the OT before I realised it'd been playing in my head the whole time.

Finally finished HW after having run through most of 3.4-3.56 today. Made a point of not skipping any cutscenes this time and reading everything. Took a while but I enjoyed it.

well technically in terms of rounded up total potency for each tank, PLD is 30% stronger compared to DRK & WAR IF media tour potencies don't change/

If you want to dps as a healer nothing will beat a whm with stone 4 and assize nuking.
Seriously, ogcds and hots will be all the healing they need to do if the co healer is any good.

Wish I could join in with everyone but it's a terrible time for me. I'd love to start up RDM. Hopefully by the time I can play they've brought WHM back to something respectable, that's my main usually and the new changes are disappointing. Hope everyone has fun!
I am actually super curious what happens to ASTLogs in Omega. Balance apparently still broke AF, and PLD potentially being the go-to damage OT it'll be interesting to see if the competition really does migrate and if there's a knock-on of 1-2-3 PLDs moving to DRK, new 1-2-3 king.
also I'm still super curious about how threat is going to work.

Honestly if I played WAR I'd be tempted to make a macro specifically for Stormblood just to see the reactions.
Yes
I find a provoke macro useful if you're doing anything involving tank swaps and you're not using voice chat.I feel good knowing I never had a macro for WAR. Not even for provoke.
I'm going to be doing Vanu and Vath beast tribe dailies, roulettes, and then PotD spamming.
I fully expect to see Berserk macros that count down the timer and announce using Shake It Off.

So excited for early access. I remember when HW came out, and my friend and I just rushing from 30 to 60 on drk and ast - good times. Really want to see the patch notes though; I'm pretty (stereotypically) worried for my main whm, but we'll find everything out soon enough. Have the static all back together, and ready to go at Omega. I hope the major changes in SB end up being for the best
I don't tend to use it in much high end content but when I do, I expect the other tank to know when I have provoked/tank swap and to stop attacking until I get enmity established.
But many outright ignore the aggro meter so maybe it would be useful but meh. I'm happy with not.
Plus some people don't even read party chat so provoke macros in those cases would also be useless <_<

I'm basically you!Hype.
Started a new character 4 weeks ago, got MNK to lv53 and reached the beginning of the Heavensward MSQ, where I've been parked waiting for SB to come out so I can switch to RDM and do both HW and SB back to back. I'll probably job potion PLD to lv60 once I reach lv70 on my RDM and work that job up, too. And I've played AST to lv48 in the wait for SB, so I'll have 1 dps, 1 heals, and 1 tank probably within reasonable range of level cap.
Always envied RDM in the one year I played FFXI (its first year in North America), but never got around to playing one. FFXIV's RDM is significantly different in its utility, but still stylin'-as-ever... Can't wait.
Got MNK to 50 back at 2.0 launch then came back a couple weeks ago. Tore through the ARR story and have parked myself at the first HW quest, waiting to go through Heavensward as RDM (and then beyond to SB if the class is as rewarding as I hope). I'm also planning to main RDM and PLD, and have been toying with the idea of jumping PLD to 60 to avoid the second leveling grind (I hate PotD), circumvent any lingering gear roadblocks in HW, and get that 50% XP bonus to RDM from 50-60.
Red Mage was my main for the sporadic periods I played FFXI, and I do miss it. Obviously using a jump potion for a tank role is dangerous as I'll have no idea what I'm doing out of the gate, but am committed to learning--I always wanted to tank as a Paladin in Vana'diel, and it's looking mighty cool to do so in Eorzea.
I'm just glad I was able to finish ARR stuffs before SB launch, am ready to enjoy HW at my own pace while everyone else tears into the new content. I did manage to get my gathering professions to 50, crafters to 15 (CUL to 37), almost max out Ixali Beast Men, and as of two hours before today's maintenance my GC squadron will complete their level 40 promotion mission, for whatever that's worth these days.
I'm not sure if I should grab 50 gear for RDM off the marketplace or not, got 1100 or so Poetics banked to help there too.
Really excited to see all the HW story everyone's been praising!
