I finally started working my way through the Blackwell series a couple days ago and now I'm kinda tempted to grab more point-and-clicks before the sale ends. I'm aware of the more well-known stuff like the Double Fine remasters and Thimbleweed Park, so I'm more interested in lesser known (and preferably cheaper) titles. Basically, stuff similar to the Wadjet Eye games. The only one I've found so far is Kathy Rain. Any suggestions?

Bought Shadow Tactics, Aragami, Xanadu Next and House in Fata Morgana.

Finished Shadow Tactics today, and I can only recommend it. Great gameplay with an interesting story and good characters. Totally kicked my ass though, spent like 2 hours on every mission with 50-100 loads/saves on each of them.

Started Xanadu Next, but I'm not really feeling it. I'm a huge Ys fan, played every single one released in english, and I also love Trails in the Sky, but I really don't see the catch here. I'm after the first "boss" (some kind of fire lizard, who wasn't much harder than a regular enemy), but the combat is kind of clunky, and there isn't much else to the game so far.

ha, the more you know. Probably should have waited until the last day of the sale for a few things.

That is why ive been holding off buying stuff until today ;D
Waiting until the last day is the best strategy. A few sales ago I refunded some games when they appeared in a bundle a week later.
Though I ended up buying my games yesterday since some friends wanted to play Age of Mythology and they convinced me to get a copy myself.

Redout
MELTY BLOOD Actress Again Current Code
PixelJunk™ Shooter Ultimate
Age of Mythology EX
Drawful 2

Anyone know any cheap child-friendly games on Steam? Preferably with controller support.

But it had its own health bar and everyhing. :p Definitely wasn't what I was expecting from a Falcon boss, so it's good to hear that the others will be different.
I thought the same before coming to the first proper boss, but really, that lizard is just a stronger regular enemy in the grand scheme of things.

The Genesis games, Slime Rancher is good for watching.
Can anybody recommend a modern "old school" FPS on Steam? ala the original Doom games; maze-like maps, lots of secrets etc...
Modern old school is a challenge, that's like Shadow Warrior, Serious Sam, Hard Reset, Wolfenstein New Order.
Actual old school games - Take your old Doom games and add in Brutal Doom Mod, the Blood Games, Duke Nukem. There lots of games like this that don't get as much word of mouth.

Yeah, most of those aren't quite the kind of games I was looking for but I did end up wishlisting a few and it also made me notice at least a couple that it turned out I already owned lol. Thanks!

Also, does Contradiction ever go on sale? I feel like I check up on it every major sale and I don't think I've ever seen it discounted. :/

I got:

1. Hitman Complete First Season
2. Firewatch
3. Aragami
4. Shadow of Mordor GOTY
5. Everything (the game!)
6. The Turing Test

I'm also probably going to pick up the Cities Skylines DLC too, and maybe also The Witness from the Humble Store by the end of the week.

I hope Valve keeps up the stickers thing, for example during the winter sale they add a whole new set of backgrounds and sticker, and when all of those are collected one can mix and match with the summer ones, and same next year and so on, in the end one has huge collection that one can play with.

I got to two hours of playtime exactly in Nier: Automata and put in my refund request. It is unacceptable to me that they have had this long and the game still has not been patched. I will wait until it drops down to a more reasonable price for the performance issues that game has or it hits $30 on best buy for the PS4 version.

I think that I may be done with this sale after my last purchase a couple of days ago. I'll have to take one last look this evening, as I wouldn't expect to have the chance to do so tomorrow. I've ended up with the following:

Hollow Knight
CrossCells
DROD: Gunthro and the Epic Blunder, DROD: King Dugan's Dungeon, DROD: Journey to Rooted Hold, DROD, The City Beneath
Outland
Tales of Monkey Island Complete Pack
Ys I and II Origins
WayOut
Pharaoh Rebirth
Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
Wolf Pack: Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny, Return to Castle Wolfenstein
DOOM Collection: Ultimate DOOM, Final DOOM, DOOM II, Master Levels for DOOM II
QUAKE Collection: QUAKE, QUAKE Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon, QUAKE Mission Pack 2: Dissolution of Eternity, QUAKE II, QUAKE II: The Reckoning, QUAKE II: Ground Zero, QUAKE III Arena, QUAKE III: Team Arena

That's £37.01 for all that lot. Now I just need to keep myself busy with other games until Friday before getting stuck in to Hollow Knight or Momodora, which feel like the only two of these that might end up in the Monthly Bundle - even though I don't think that's very likely.

NISA just made a bunch of announcements and I don't think any of them was on PC, did they give up after everything that wasn't Disgaea sold like shit?

Gonna end up not buying anything. Can't afford to put a single cent towards non-essential stuff.
Timing of this sale was terrible for me.

Those were all announced a quite a while ago tho

Meanwhile they added a PS4 version and some Switch ones to previous Vita games for the localizations announced today

Yomawari actually looks like it sold quite decently actually(over 20k), had no idea, I guess the sequel coming makes sense

not really, no

I wouldn't look too deep into it, NISA is releasing Ys VIII, Danganronpa V3, and something else I'm forgetting this year still, and they already released New Tokyo Legacy games recently and Cladun Returns. They released 7 games this year already.

From what I'm seeing today they announced Demon Gaze II for PS4/Vita, Penny-Punching Princess for Switch/Vita and Coven Labyrinth of Refrain for PS4/Vita (and also a Switch version and a delay for the previously announced The Longest 5 Minutes)

Danganronpa isn't NISA on PC, and Ys VIII is a major game from them that was announced a while ago

Yeah and those games sold all sub 5k (Operation Babel is at 1,458 ±1,007 on Steamspy and Cladun Returns 565 ±782)

Speaking of them, tho the new Yomawari is on October 24

So... I'm possibly considering Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and/or Dishonored 2.

I just want to check with anyone here how the games run these days. I remember hearing a lot of issues when they released - have any here with issues stopped having those?
