Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood |OT| Y'all Need to Calm Down

It's hard to tell because, well, PF, but there are usually a couple of O3S PFs up during primetime listing out how far they expect you to know. Books as a marker is pretty common, and from there the fight finishes pretty quickly.

PFability of 3S and 4S will probably need to be revisited after i330 weapon week, since by then people should also have much better left side gearing to smooth out some of the rougher damage and HP spots. I think surviving 3 might be possible now/next week, but depending on the DPS spread as mentioned adds might be an issue as well as overall enrage.

I do wish people would more consistently stick how many chests they're looking for in their PFs. Right now I just assume everyone wants two chests and leave 'em alone.

Just had a really cool coincidence happen. I was doing both the Dragoon and Monk lvl. 63 quests at the same time. They both needed me to visit the same place and the character Erik, who I needed to meet up with for the Monk quest, just popped up in the Dragoon quest! I thought that was pretty cool.

Can you equip 2 of the same rings? I only need 1 more ring to hit 310, but the vendor only sells 1. Dont want to waste the currency if I can only equip 1.

Thanks for the help with Lakshmi EX btw guys!

Typically they're unique, so it won't even let you buy it if you already have it equipped.

Ok thanks.

So what should I be focusing on getting with the Deltascape parts and Creation tomes? I was focusing on trying to get the weapon first but I see now it's going to take atleast another 6 weeks lol. Should I be working on getting the chest piece first?

What did you guys focus on getting first/or are working on with the Deltascape parts?

Only being able to roll once per Ver, once a week is pretty rough and I already feel like I screwed up since I had no idea going in what the parts were for.

I just found this gearing up past i300 guide that helps a ton of anyone else needs it:

I'm going to be saving for the Creation chest and leg pieces first, since it will probably be a while before I clear v3s and v4S, so it's the best available right now.

This is about Scripture gear, but the costs and cap remain the same so it's not a terrible example.

Specifically, this gives you a buy order that lets you buy big pieces up front (chest and legs are important!) while also making sure you have enough tomes week 7 to buy the weapon provided you collect your weekly O4 normal clear token.

It tends to stick belt and accessory at the end, which means it might be worth focusing your early Normal clears on getting a chain and some bolts, as well as deciding which tome pieces you're going to buy last of head/hands/feet and get that from normal as well.

It changes a lot if you're going to try to clear O2S any time soon, as if you think you might get a drop tomestone from there in the first three weeks you'd want to save all your tomes to buy it.

Just warped to the Quarrymill and there were a shitload of people there goddamn. What's there that everyone goes there? I do remember there being some really easy leves there that only require picking stuff up.

It's where you enter palace of the dead from.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
It's like the show backstage and POTD is the runway.

BTW POTD grinding is efficient leveling if somewhat monotonous. If you're in the 40-50 range I'd recommend a few runs now and then.

Is it true I gotta level all the crafting and gathering classes??

I wanted to be a culinarian/fisher but my friend told me I pretty much have to level them all for the skills or something.

Is there a guide or something because that sounds overwhelming. :(

It's absolutely NOT a requirement. You can totally be a CUL/FSH if that's what you want. However, other crafting classes do have cross-class skills which will make things easier for you when cooking, if you get them.

Cross-class skills? Weren't they replaced by role abilities in 4.0 like for combat classes?

How important is crafting anyway? I haven't really touched it much since the beginning of the game. I figured it's more important for endgame stuff.

Only kind of, early on when top line gear is limited by weekly tome caps. It's not important at all unless you want to do non combat stuff and try to make money. Because the only real reason to spend money is housing or glamour, it's even more optional.

I finally got around to leveling a White Mage. It turns out that once you get over the thought that you'll get everybody killed the job is really fun to play, though I really wish the leveling roulette would stop giving me Tam-Tara and Brayflox.

The end of ARR is just absolutely wretched dogshit. I'm in stunned silence by how poorly thought out it was. Holy shit.

Just a long series of cutscenes without even getting a chance to play or see the fights. During the cutscenes the dialogue from the current fights pops up so you can't even watch the cutscenes in peace. You miss all of the in-game content so the cutscenes hurdle from one to the next with no context.

From 1-57 or so, the game was great, but the last few missions were genuinely awful, ultimately leading to that abomination of an end mission.

Everything about it is profoundly, truly awful. Probably the worst ending of any game I've played in over two decades of gaming. I guess I need to go back and play the fights now and skip the cutscenes to try and enjoy the other half of it.

Just wow. I guess I'm on my way to Heavensward, although the ending seriously dampened my interest in playing right now.

If you had asked literally anyone they would have told you to get a party together for the final two dungeons. Randoms will not wait because of how long the cutscenes are, but thankfully they learned form that and never did it again.

Oh no! Someone should have told you to do the last two 2.0 dungeons with a premade party who will wait for you, because doing it with randoms in Duty Finder is a mess, as you found out. I'm sorry no one got you that message. At least the developers recognized after the fact that putting extended cutscenes in dungeons is a bad idea in an MMO, and they've never repeated that design since. The best stuff is still ahead of you, so hopefully you don't let this kill all your interest in the game.

It's such a shame so many people don't get to experience the final ARR story dungeons properly anymore, because they were fucking awesome at the time. They really need to change them so new players don't have to go through hoops to get a good experience with them.

They did indeed fuck up the last two dungeons by putting so many cutscenes in them. The good news is, they never do this again.

I always recommend new players ask for some high level friends to run the last two ARR dungeons unsynced so they can enjoy them properly.

That sounds terrible. I'm kind of nearing the end of the game I think. I'm about to do the first level 46 quest. At what quest should I avoid using the duty finder?

Nah, I'm still in for the road to Heavensward. It's a terrific game but wow, what a mess. Surprised something like that made it through development given it's obvious stupidity. There were a few cutscenes in early dungeons but nothing crazy so I expected the end would be about the same and they'd do things after the end boss.

Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium are the two dungeons you should do with a premade party.

They wanted to make an elaborate Final Fantasy final dungeon, but didn't think ahead to what it would be like to run it years down the road. Whoops. Heavensward and Stormblood instead separate the final dungeon and the final boss into separate instances, so they can do story setup in between without inconveniencing players.

Don’t Duty Finder the 8-player level 50 story dungeons. Find a few level 70s to run it unsynced who will let you watch the cutscenes. Even just three or four people can do it unsynced easily.

Got it. Speaking of 8-player parties, I just joined my first one as part of a guildhest. No idea wtf was going on lol. But everyone was alive so yay?

There's not much to 8 player parties, short of now you have double everything. Just keep not standing in bad stuff and punching the right bad guys at the right time.

All 4 levels of Omega normal were pretty easy, even with mostly pugs. Looking forward to trying the ex primals next.

Do LakEx before SusEX.
I did the latter first, and it took many, many pugs.
LakEx, who is notably easier, took all of one pug, lol

I still need to do Omega Normal myself...

Finally got my susanoo pike. Had to do all ten runs. Never stepping foot in there again lol. Already got the wolf but I'll never use it.

Now to tackle the first two savages. Hope they aren't hard.

Need people for savage raiding, right now have SAM and NIN(me and my buddy). Either need a group to join on leviathan or people that would possible be interested. I'm pretty geared and buddy just hit 60 and will be geared soon enough (I'm 318). Really like the game and want to do post game content but its hard to find people competent at the game. I'd be willing to xfer also if the group was cool.

While I feel like tanks have become a chaff role in an MMO in general, I do sincerely wish they'd just reduce 8 person groups to one tank.

Such a waste of time recruiting for anything when the mechanics barely utilize an offtank half the time and no one in this game wants to play a tank. Should just bake basic OT responsibilities into a section of DPS in order to build additional utility.

PF on Primal at any given moment usually looks like this:

hi. are RDM Mind or Int? im leaning on Int, but see them healing at higher levels. currently 52. also any guides? like an explain it to me like i 5 guide. cause i cant seen to get dual cast to show up constantly.
