Magic: the Gathering |OT12| Hour of Devastation - Hour of Jace getting dunked on

Yam Wing Chun got overexcited and fouled his way out of the win.

EDIT: To explain, he drew Incendiary Flow and tapped Hazoret to attack. But he had two cards in hand, so she couldn't attack. He needed to have cast the Flow in the first main phase, but he can't now, since he indicated he went to the attack phase.

Punt of the decade.

Ya that's gotta be the biggest punt I've ever seen. Even bigger than that living end guy who lost to pod combo with I think 2 faerie macabres in hand in the finals of a GP. Hope he can recover but I could see that constantly hanging over his head every time he plays.

It's annoying to me cause it's literally just cause he made a motion with Hazoret to attack and not as if he made a wrong target call.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
People scoffed at me at my local shop when I told them to acquire 4 chandra torch of defiance when it came out. I'm not saying she's Jace, she's not even close. But she's still an awesome awesome planeswalker.
She is a perfect pw for prison decks and that's probably where she'll stay once she rotates.

What happened? Explain?

pvddr was at 11 with no blockers, yam had a hazoret in play and a collective defiance in his hand. He drew an incendiary flow for exact lethal, but he went to attack without playing any of the two spells, so hazoret was unable to attack.

He clearly moved to his attack step, you don't get to rewind the game just because you realized you made a mistake at any competitive level.

I kind of wanted him to fuck up because of his antics in his earlier match.

fuck he had Battlements and Garrison, he HAD THE COMBO

Meh, I don't like Paolo. Also the slow draw is funny as shit so I don't care. I play too much cube with my friends where we literally consort between each other to try and goad bad plays out of each other and have insane backstab shit happen. So being super crazy stingy about even just mannerisms with your cards just seems stupid to me. Yes, I know it's the highest of the highest competitive level but the dude got genuinely excited instead of the charisma-less vaccuum of other players and it just seemed like he got punished for it. I think it's stupid overall.

I want Paolo to lose just cause.

Chandra was the one worthwhile card I got (from a draft prize booster) since Kaladesh. I also only played one draft since Kaladesh, but still

what did the final look like? Red against red? Wait, I've seen mentions of snek, someone was on GB?

I will say that I thought Cheon did a great job and I enjoyed his commentary with Riley, the whole team overall was pretty good. Now if they would just up the overall production quality we might have a stew goin'.

I enjoyed commentary a lot this time though I miss Gaby a lot but production value is just very poor. Why they can't set up hand cams or develop a table card reader a la poker escapes me.
And he admitted to regretting playing that desert haha
Heh that's funny. HOU made a marquee deck and potentially another we'll have to see where it stands but it's very low key in decks otherwise.

There's a dude on /r/Spikes whose strat against ramunap red is literally use haze of pollen to get to turn 8-9, bounce their haste creatures to their hand and cast Memory to "shuffle them away".

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
I mean, I don't play the game at all besides prereleases, and I'm the guy making these threads.
I skipped those too.

I'm basically just not interested in the game anymore. I mean maybe Ixalan will do something but I could see myself selling all of my cards entirely and not having a problem.

Eh, it happens, man. I sold out everything and stopped playing after Coldsnap for a good 11 years, I just lost intereset. Now I'm back and I enjoy it again.

Ended up playing Boros Burn with a green splash today. Tournament went so well until the top 8. I started the day off strong by winning on a mull to 4 on the play with zero lands, scrying a Lava Spike to the bottom. And against which deck? Mono White Devotion. Opponent kept his 7, but had a bad draw and I managed to eek out a win in seven turns with one burn spell at a time. He crushed me game 2(Leyline), but I had a fast enough start in game 3.
Went on to win against GW Tron, RG Bushwhacker Zoo, and Grixis Shadow. Played two games against Living End in round 5, but decided to ID since I was on the draw. Drew again and was second seed going into the top 8 and lost against UW Control. I think drew 7 lands in the third game of that match.

Anyway, at least I managed to win some PW points and packs for my efforts.

None of these decks really excited me. I want locust god to be playable :/

Prolly gonna build that riddleform UR deck. Seems like a solid T2 beater.

Random aside: I finally played Faith of the Devoted in a 60 card casual deck. It is super solid and works surprisingly well. I never even got my combo of Unfulfilled Dreams but Oona's Prowler closes games very quickly with it.
