Assassin’s Creed Origins XB1X Enhancements Detailed – Increased Draw Distance, Faster

How will Assassin's Creed Origins leverage the power of the Xbox One X?

Assassin's Creed Origins will be visually stunning and fun on all platforms, but thanks to the power of the Scorpio engine,
the Xbox One X will let our players experience the most beautiful version of our game with all the stunning details, beautiful landscapes and incredible cities of Ancient Egypt,
rendered in both 4K and 1080p.

The powerful Scorpio Engine of the Xbox One X allows our game engine to really express itself and
render the game with improved shadows quality, greater draw distances and more detailed textures to really highlight the magnificence of Ancient Egypt. And all this in HDR too!

Assassin's Creed Origins uses the power of the Scorpio engine to render the game in 4K
resolution on 4K-capable screens. 4K allows us to make the work of our teams really stand
out as we can display more of the details and textures they created. For players without 4K
screens, the fact that the game renders in 4K will result in an oversampled image of higher
quality on their 1080p displays.

With the Dolby Atmos feature, players will feel right at the center of Ancient Egypt, hearing
more details with greater sound fidelity such as flocks of birds flying overhead for a unique
immersive experience.

With HDR, skies appear more realistic than ever with tons of subtle color change in the blues.
Sunsets look spectacular and torches and fire effects are displayed more vibrantly and
beautifully. Shadows now use bigger texture buffers to appear sharper and more detailed than on any other console version.

The Draw Distance of elements like grass, plants, pebbles and flowers are twice as far on the
Xbox One X as on the Xbox One. And due to the greater amount of memory and more powerful CPU of the Xbox One X,
Assassin's Creed Origins can maintain higher quality architectural models, vegetation, rocks and display them at longer draw
distances in dense environments like the grand cities of Alexandria and Memphis.

Thanks to the additional memory of the Xbox One X console, the game will allow for faster transitions from Senu to Bayek.
The world around Senu and Bayek is constantly loaded in memory, so that when the player comes back to Bayek from Senu after viewing
the world and its opportunities, the transition feels instantaneous.

What is it like developing Assassin's Creed Origins for the Xbox One X?

As developers, we're excited about Xbox One X and the possibilities it offers as it allows us a greater ability to express our creative vision in the games we create. The enhanced version of Assassin's Creed Origins on Xbox One X will allow us to show even more of the details of the world the team created, immersing our players into a unique visually stunning experience of Ancient Egypt.

I can't wait for this on X. First AC I've cared about since IV.

Still not Pirates.. but looks good.

I usually always pick up AC games not really minding what settings they picked...

But Egypt legitimately excites me.

I just hope they do something really remarkable story and gameplay wise, because they've fucking nailed this setting.

I'm very curious how the Xbox x version ultimately compares to the ps4 pro version. That will go a long way in helping me decide to keep my xb1x preorder or not.

so is it native or checkerboard 4k...thought it was confirmed to be the latter?

Nothing is confirmed yet until we have a release version. The E3 build was using CB and dynamic i believe. Maybe DF does again a look if something has changed in the build at GC?

You know that the objective is to describe the Xbox One X enhancements compared to the Xbox One version, right?

You're not going to get that in PR, wait until DF, not long now.

As someone who owns a Pro and a launch One, I can't help but feel like the real world eyeballl test will make the Pro and X versions difficult to distinguish from each other. We will see, and soon.

Glad we have a thread about this! I was already sold, but it's nice to see the improvements detailed. I hope we get a list like this for Shadow of War soon. Loved the first and I just love Lord of the Rings in general, but I'm kind of on the fence right now.

Just pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition! Wasn't able to resist anymore LOL

This is cool and all...and I'm actually moderately hyped about Origins...but is it weird that I'm actually a bit more excited about how the X1X will run Unity? I picked it up ultra cheap (<$10) and stuck it in the backlog precisely because of the lackuster performance. I've been wondering how much older Xbone games will be smoothed out....

the vs PS4 Pro is for the fanboy wars

everyone else wants to see the step up from the 1/2 gen behind. To answer the question "Should I make the step?" (or "Was the step I took worth it?" regardless if it was from PS4 or XBox One)

Its really too bad the X is launching so (relatively) late in the holiday period. I feel like i have to make a choice

- pre-order/buy Origins on the 27th and play for a few weeks on a PS4 Pro or One S and then keep playing on an X
- just skip buying Origins at launch and play it later down the road, maybe when all the DLC content patches are out and the gold version of the game is on sale at best buy, etc.

Anyone else feel like this? I love Assassins Creed, I love Egypt, and currently have the regular PS4 (Pro) version on pre order but I am tempted to cancel and just pick up the game later on sale and play on X.

Yeah I could play on PC and get the best of everything but I like playing these kinda games on my console on the TV, plus my wife usually will start playing on her own character and she will only do console games.

It doesn't help that Mario Odyssey and Wolfenstein 2 also both release on the 27th.

Why does he wear the mask!?
People will probably shit on me for it, but dynamic checkerboarding is an (optional) technology I wouldn't mind coming to PC.

Its a very smart solution. Allows developers to maintain a high level of graphic fidelity while maintain a consistent level of performance.

Only an idiot wouldn't like it.
