I know I’m going to be hated for bumping this, but by this time last month we knew the games. So I’m prepping for October disappointment.

I believe the technical reason is that they always aim to unveil GWG on the last Wednesday of the month.

That's what PlayStation does...always the last Wednesday. Pretty sure Xbox is normally earlier?

Nope they just announce it whenever they feel. There's a trend when it's announced early it's usually quite a good month, and when it's announced late it's a bit of a dull. It's not concrete but it's a pretty decent guideline to follow for most months

If it's tomorrow it'll probably be somewhat decent as it's still a little early, not great but not bad either. Any later I'm not getting my hopes up though

November and December is usually awful months then it's a return to form in January

Look at previous November's you'll see what I mean. I think October is historically a pretty bad month too

I expect a transition month in October, then some Xbox One X enhanced games for November on X1, plus some of the best looking 360 games that will benefit from 16x AF and such. What better way to promote the X than having people making clips and streams of games running in 4k and such?

Having said that, the Mordor and DMC leak is probably BS but I fully expected the first Mordor game to be GWG before the new one comes out, with MS handling the marketing for the sequel and all. This is their last chance to do so, so... maybe?

DmC wasn't GwG

I originally said I think SoM will happen but I didn't realise the game was out October 10, I thought it was later in the month. The release date rules out the first game of the month, and there's no point having it GwG on the second half of the month so I don't think SoM will happen

Way too soon imo it will go into game pass probably this year tho I reckon. Isn't it getting a big patch for the X? I could see it being put onto the pass in November.

However all Gears games have been GwG unlike Halo and Forza so it will happen at some point for sure, my guess would be 2019 just before Gears 5.

2, 4 (both console), Chronicles China, revelations, 3 have all been GwG

I don't really follow the series so not sure what else is missing other than Brotherhood. And Syndicate of course but I don't think that will be GwG. Didn't Brotherhood get a remaster too? Or is that not Ezio?

Edit: Unity aswell but no chance that becomes GwG just before a new AC. Too much negative stigma around it not worth the risk. Better of them to just forget that until either next year or put it on game pass instead.

I would guess because we haven't had an announcement yet that a 360 game that is not currently released in the backwards compatibility program will be part of Octobers Games with Gold. I imagine we'll hear about it today.

They have announced newly bc games via gwg before even up to a week before they were made bc. Not really indicative of anything but it could be today
