Thankfully managed to get screenshot mapping to work with DS4Windows and the GOG version by using ReShade's screenshot feature rather than Afterburner's (which wasn't detecting the hotkey via the DS4).
One minor point is that when 'next' prompts are on screen for cutscenes the game accepts any key input to progress, which means if you're trying to Alt-Tab it will count the key as continuing... Same for the Windows key (if you want to use Win+<num> to toggle visibility of an item on the taskbar, for ex). Would be better if it were limited to the alpha keys / existing in-game mapped buttons at least. Doesn't appear to affect dialog so it's not a huge deal tbh.
Edit: err, it appears when using the DS4 and Alt-Tabbing out of the game it seems to think there are two players—one on the controller and another on the keyboard, with both characters accepting the input of the controller when moved. Entering the pause menu and removing player 2 removes Mugman but upon Alt-tabbing the game continues to flash a 'PRESS ANY BUTTON TO JOIN' on screen... Additionally if I use the keyboard to navigate the Pause menu (like I do for many other games) it auto registers a second player. Can single player be perma-enabled?
Edit 2: it's triggering a second player upon merely using the DS4 movement buttons. I use DS4Windows since it allows me to disable the lightbar, and exiting DS4Windows causes the game to completely undetect the raw controller detects it now raw but prompts are missing (see screenshot). Looking at the button bindings in DS4Windows it's using the up/down/left/right of the analog stick so I'm not sure what is going on.
Edit 3: using without DS4Windows is now working without the second player prompt appearing. However I now can't disable the lightbar to conserve battery life, or use the screenshot button I'd mapped to the PS button. It also fails to display some of the prompts in the tutorial.
Edit 4: okay, so enabling Hide DS4 Controller is a workaround in DS4Windows. I lose the native DS4 in-game prompts but so far I'm not getting the other issues above and after all the rigamarole can begin the game proper.
