this was a weird one, the break after TLOU2 was ATROCIOUS and really tested me at f***ing 2am...

it was very short with zero surprises but the 4 games they showed look top tier

also, this is not sonys fault, NO ROCKSTEQDY?!?!?! worst thing about this years e3

I think people's expectations were too high because people were expecting the games other conferences didn't show like Splinter Cell, Avengers, Rocksteady's game, ect.

We also didn't get the Bluepoint remake.

I would have liked more release dates. I do feel like these games are practically finished though. I'm expecting 2019.

It was a C for me. I was hoping TLoU2 would be the gravy on top, not the main course. Spiderman was cool but weve already got several gameplay demoes. Out of everything else, nothing hyped me. No megatons. And im not even going to start on that shitty format.

I cant believe the ms conference was actually better. But this one was still better thqn the others. Square almost put me to sleep and ea was god awful so it couldve been worse i guess.

But most importantly, wheres my damn psp3 sony??

One of the best E3 press conferences I've ever seen. It was all gameplay, no fluff. I don't get what people didn't like, frankly.
The format is terrible. A 1 hour conference with intermissions? Now it apparently has ended, we watching games we already saw before, now a VR mashup out of nowhere with new games... really terrible.

Like the most unprofessional conference I remember from Sony.

A bit disappointed honestly. Oh well. It all looked great as far as im concerned, just wanted less time spent on each game but more games shown.

Really hated the format too. Thye wefe announcing stuff during the intermission and after the show.

How do they casually say Dreams beta is out this year after the show ended

Most games they showed were great but the show itself was pretty bad. It felt light on actual announcements, that weird intermission in between TLOU2 and everything else made no sense and I feel like it should have definitely gone on for at least another 30 minutes

The games though were awesome. TLOU2, Ghosts of Tsushima and Spiderman looked great and I really don't understand people saying "they are all like movies". Yeah they show the more scripted and story heavy moments in these shows but I seriously doubt the whole game will be like that. Look at god of war, they also showed the slower more story heavy segments but a good 85-90% of that game is combat, exploration and puzzle solving. Same with Spiderman, that story scene looked super scripted but then they showed the devs playing and it didn't look at all like it was trying to be a movie.

The only one I'm still not sold on is Death Stranding. I still love the style and mystery but this is the third E3 with this game and they showed....walking.

I don't think Sony will be doing that kind of format again. I guess they can do that since they have little to lose.

I think people expected too much from the Sony conference, it could of been presented a little better but I think everyone was already spoiled from all the Multiplat titles Microsoft showed. Microsoft pulled off the illusion of a good conference by showing a bunch of titles that aren't theirs. The way they presented the titles made it look like to the uneducated consumer that these are Microsofts.

To be fair for folks like me who have both systems, multi-plats will always get the nod on the X.

I would do the same, but there are certain franchises that I associate with certain platforms. DMC will forever be a playstation game for me.

Kinda disappointing to be honest. Excited for NiOh2 though. My thoughts:

TLoU2 - cool but heavily scripted. Wonder what it will actually play like. Don't care much for the story as they've presented it, I'd like to know what the damn game is about. Gameplay seems cinematic but could get repetitive.

Spidey - looks good but nothing extraordinary. Feels like I've played this game before and the regular badguys seem boring to fight. Web swinging is good. Environment was a step down from infamous SS which is a similar game.

Control - heavy quantum break vibes. Looks interesting.

NiOh2 - exciting, but not much shown. Is it exclusive to PS4/PC?

Ghost of T.. - very beautiful, but combat looks like it will fall flat compared to NiOh, Sekiro and DMC5. Not sure I care about the story.

Death stranding - the sci fi concept could end up being really cool. It's really annoying that there is no gameplay, maybe kojima should have opened a movie studio instead.

Honestly most of the cool stuff is multiplatform these days, I'll probably be doing most of my gaming on the X. I can see myself getting NiOh2 on PS4 if it ends up being exclusive. It also feels like the next console gen might come sooner than we expect given the lack of cool first party stuff this E3.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
It's over now right?

Kudos to Sony for trying to do something different.

That said, I'm a little underwhelmed. I can't put my finger on it, the games were all gorgeous, but that's not what gaming is about to me.

If it is to you, then more power to you.

I thought their showing was amazing. Stage presentation could've been a little better, but still great nonetheless.

And I was really hoping to see some Shenmue III, though.

I was so confused by the beginning of this conference. Showing TLoU2 in a tent, cutting to the guys outside, then going to another tent to just show video without anyone ever going on the stage is just such a foreign concept for a conference.

Some of the stuff that would have been at the PS conference was at Microsofts like DMC5. But I'll be playing that on my PS4.

Yeah I do not have that kind of loyalty. I play the game that plays the best on whatever system but that's just me.

Didn't bother me, I just went and did something else until the intermission was over.

Nothing much was shown, nothing much was lost. I think these 1hr e3 conferences should be reserve for new hardware demonstrations. Showing gameplay and sequels are just not what it used to be.

I feel neither happy or sad about that conference. Nioh 2 was a cool surprise, that boxing game looks fun as hell for a party game, the main games were ok, nothing to make me really want them. I don't get why Sony didn't make it their "thing" to always have a "and one more thing..." at the very end. It's so easy to do and it would be so memorable. Ah well. Looking forward to actual details about death stranding. Ghosts of T looks unfortunately bland compared to Nioh and Sekiro. Competitive year for samurai games.

Also, man, early 2019 is going to be a hell of a quarter.

No surprises on a conference doens't make it bad, but it also makes it not that great. I'm disappointed.

I guess I fell on the hype train in the beginning of E3, before I was not that hopeful.

I don't know what is the bigger disappointment on this day. Sony's press conference or ihop changing their P to B for BURGERS

Conf did nothing for me. Im not into 3rd person, scripted story games with no replay value. Sony has tripled down on that style of game. Where was Ace Combat 7? Where was any fighting games? And of course, where was Shenmue 3 or FFVII remake? The internet nearly exploded years ago and we see nothing years later.

Depends on your definition of a good conference.
Because to me a good conference is one with good pacing and lots of exciting announcements and I think MS did a better job at that, regardless of the announcements being exclusive or not.

My Favourite Sony E3 has been the 2015 one and 2 of their biggest announcements (FF7 Remake and Shenmue3 ) weren't exclusive either

RE2, Tsushima, KH3, Death Stranding, Nioh 2 and Control were what stood out for me. Overall, I'd give it a B-. I think MS had the better conference just because of the format. Very interested in seeing what Nintendo shows tomorrow.

I own an xbox i saw many games coming out for my console as they will play on my xbox one x. I dont care if u can get them on other platforms or who made them, why would that matter?

Its like saying Sony should only use Sony movies to sell a blue ray player.. the ability to play games is the important thing not who makes them or if other platforms can have them or not.

Not shocked at all they didn't show FFVII, that game is going through major issues right now and the development process has been a disaster. We likely won't see anything from that for a while.

Ghost of Tsushima looks beautiful and the combat looks like it’s going to be very calculated with blocks and parries and timing to get a hit in. I hope the release date is within a year as sucker punch hasn’t had a major release in what 4 years? Count me in day 1 for it

Calm down man, its just a video game opinion. No need for cussing.
