Blizzard says it has "a lot of new ideas" for Overwatch.

ever since Overwatch's launch, 90% of Blizzard's ideas and "Fixes" contributed to making the game worse.
i played Overwatch for over 2 years straight then i had enough, in 2016 i was convinced that i won't drop Overwatch even after PS5 launches, but Blizzard kept fucking the game with changes to heroes and modes that sucked the fun out of the game.
other games like Fortnite, their ideas is adding more to the game and maybe fixing a few issues, however, Blizzard's ideas to Overwatch is keep changing things that didn't need to be changed and add very little to the game every 3 months.

Although it hasn’t been perfect with balancing patches, the additions which have been truly new content wise are all pretty great. The new hero’s have all had some great ideas and mostly every map they have added has been absolute quality (upcoming Paris looks awesome to me as well).
I am ready to give them more money for a large batch of new stuff be it multiplayer modes or single player gameplay. That is what excites me from that tweet.

It's still generally a top 10 game on twitch, moving to the top 2-3 when there are tournaments.

Overwatch is the only online multiplayer game I play because I feel I actually can contribute, haha. Online games like COD is very solo, one guy can carry. Overwatch genuinely requires team play (which can also be a problem when your team is very un-cooperative).
I think the problem with Overwatch is they've concentrated hard on toxicity with the report system, endorsements etc etc which has taken time away from "real" updates like new characters/maps/game modes.
Has it been a relatively slow 2018, yeah totally, but I'm hoping for a better 2019, saying all this though, I totally understand why people are jaded with this game now. Which is a shame but it's Blizzard's own doing.

Contrary to a lot of the opinions in this thread so far, I love Overwatch and have it in my top 10 games of the generation.
The multiplayer was so refreshing when it launched and even though I agree that more content could be added to the game the base gameplay is still brilliant. I have never stuck with an online MP shooter for this long (usually a year is the maximum that I'll get out of even my favourite shooters before moving on to something else) and that alone is a clear indicator to me of the games quality.
The franchise has so much potential and I hope Blizzard support both this game and the IP overall for a very long time.

I have yet to play Overwatch, but have been tempted since they loved Heroes of the Storm devs to Overwatch. I’m hesitant to buy it on PS4 or PC, but would jump at the opportunity if one of these new oppertunities include Switch.

Sounds good, they've supported the game so good so far, it's no wonder it dethroned TF2 without even going free to play. I hope they eventually put in some lore friendly modes like team good vs team nasty rather than this free for all any character can be on any team thing they have going given they bothered to characterize them at all as allies and enemies then didn't have gameplay reflect that. It might be minor but to me it feels like having a mix of terrorists and counter terrorists in the same team in CS or Siege, ha. It's different in TF2 where each team is cloned and they're more like classes than defined characters despite having the shorts (I guess it helps they don't have names beyond the class). As for the franchise, I'd certainly like to see something single player. Not some deep story heavy thing of course, just keep the same vibe they have going so far, a light hearted gameplay focused fun romp that takes the core gameplay elements and puts them in tightly designed single player/co-op levels. Something like Rage/Borderlands/Titanfall/Doom with the Overwatch weapons and skills rather than a Half-Life or Metro grand adventure deal. Still, is there any hero shooter that comes close? Paladins is pretty popular I'm sure, given it's free and fairly decent fun, not to mention being on every system, but what else is there these days? Would Apex Legends count or does that fit more strictly under Squad Battle Royale than Team Hero Shooter?

Same here. I'd love a campaign mode that fleshes out the OW lore. Those animated shorts are a lot of fun to watch and I'd like to know more about the OW universe.

Don't we all? I have crap tons of ideas for Overwatch but I don't have their immense budget or team, but most importantly, I don't have their scum corrupted investor leeches and impossible schedule or work condition that make their budget and team useless to develop or implement any ideas.

Then the atmosphere in comp play got really bad which drove some of the people who wanted a real match into arcade unfortunately half the people in arcade are just fucking around so the atmosphere in there got a bit worse. Meanwhile if you were solo-queue and wanted to advance but didn't play genji or anna you were pretty much fucked because you weren't carrying a team of shitters every match on anything else.

Tried it. Didn't like it. Which is weird because I'm into traditional deatchmatch modes in other games. Heck, I even liked it in CSGO. I shouldn't but I do.
