Did any of you buy Crackdown 3 for $60 (full price)?

If so, please share your thoughts on your purchase and whether you have any regrets or not.

Also, if anyone bought a collector's or special edition of the game, please share your reasons.

I'm fascinated to hear about people who bought/pre-ordered this game at full price.

This is a non-hate thread so please no shaming/slandering allowed. Only honest replies, arigato.

I don’t think any Xbox owners would of bought it to be honest as most have gamepass...the term perfect gamepass title is definitely in order.

I honestly would not pay for it but when your getting it for free your gonna have a look at it and I don’t mind the game to be honest.

I did. Don’t regret it. Don’t have game pass as I have a huge backlog and it’s basically not worth it for me. I’d rather buy games I want. And I loved the original Crackdown.
Was a little cold on the game at first, but I honestly can’t put it down. Probably not going to be a 10+ hour campaign, but we’ll see how much time I spend trying to find all of the orbs. Think the game would’ve been more worth it at 30 or 40 dollars.

Is that a willful acceptance of paying for a service for a game that you would consider "perfect for it" in it's consensus mediocrity, but would never purchase the game for full price outside the service?

And what does that say for the expectations of the service then, quality wise?

Can you explain to me what that means to you in context, because honestly that statement does not seem like a glowing one for the service. To me it reads you expect a perfect game pass game to be something you would never buy because of the quality.

Or am I misunderstanding?

Nope paid 2 pounds. For 1 month
I will buy it if it gets 20 for the collection.

I enjoyed the crackdown titles prior (even 2) so if I had a gun to my head to make a call and i did not read the reviews I probably would of bought it but I would honestly agree that some of the criticisms are warranted about it and if I had read the reviews I would of waited until it was cheap...in saying that gamepass has allowed me to play the game for free and while there are some parts I don’t like...there are bits I have a smile on my face from

Should clarify it...no did not pay with money...would not of paid with money going off reviews...as it was free I tried it and was surprised at how fun it was

Gamepass is full of titles you probably would not pay for going off reviews but some people love them...that’s what I mean by perfect game pass title

Just because something does not tick the reviews box don’t make it a bad game.

Lol. The threads don't stop. Obviously, Crackdown is an amazing game considering the attention it is getting with so many threads. Famous or Infamous? Does it matter when you're the most talked about? It's all advertising. Thank you for the contribution to a really fun game!

Oh another crackdown thread. I can’t wait for Sony’s next average game to come out so we can have 400 threads on it.

No I didn’t buy it, I subscribe to game pass. But I would have bought it otherwise.

I’m playing it during the day, and metro on the evening.

No. My free GamePass trial was still active, and I checked it out through that.

Thoroughly disappointed by the game, and the general selection of titles available through GamePass. Every exclusive by Microsoft except Horizon in the last two years has been a complete dud.

I don't have game pass and legit want to buy it cus I love the Crackdown franchise, but my backlog is too big to accept another game plus I am heavily invested in FF XIV ARR atm.

Considering that two months of gamepass could be had for $2 (yes $2) my only response to those who paid full price:

Crackdown was allways a mediocre tittle, its strange how it got such a big following, yet predictable that it would remain as mediocre as it has ever been.

Ah now here's where gamepass and other Netflix-for-gaming services are going to create a bit of a problem. They incentivise creating games which are ok rather than excellent. You can see the impact of this kind of economics on the music industry, with so much background music like Ed Cunting Sheeran (admittedly not helped by changes in how we consume music).

I technically didn't pay for it. I got 6 months of Game Pass for free from Microsoft's Expert Retail Zone for completing their courses.

Look at Netflix content as a whole. Their programming is largely mediocre and any excellent third-party programming is obviously time-sensitive on there, and still very limited.

I only paid $35 for it. So far I'm not regretting it. I think if Microsoft would have priced it for $40 at launch the conversation would be different.

Ed sheeran is one of the most incredible and original artist of the past decade. Netflix has stranger things, sabrina, umbrella, Russian doll, ect... considering these are the greatest forms of entertainment, your examples are for not.

If it makes you feel any better, I am less sympathetic to those who paid full price for Fallout 76.
did someone made a thread it?

I really do not understand the people who buy on the first day titles like No mans Sky, Crackdown 3, COD (Anything of this series) or Days Gone.

I dont understand them.

This.

Clearly the game is great. People are still talking about it -- have been for days! I thought it'd stop three days ago, but, nope.

Naaah. People just making fun of this game, this......this "PINNACLE OF MEDIOCRITY". It's a trend these days to mock this game left and right.

So, X1 owners, you have a chance to save this game from abyss. Buy it at full price :

I think this thread would be better if the original poster had actually included where they stand on the question. It’s disingenuous to make a thread like this and not say what you did.

Did you buy it? Do you regret it? Did you not buy it? If you didn’t buy then why do you care? Feels like a trolling thread to me.

For the record I bought it and I thought it was great it’s a true sequel to Crackdown 1 unlike two. It’s a 6 to 7 out of 10 game depending on if you are a crackdown fan.

That said it feels like a game out of 2010 running on kickass hardware and all the good and bad that comes with that statement.

Gamepass. I'm on the last boss, should be done tonight. Solid 6/10.

I've been really enjoying it and played hours over the weekend and loads of single player last night. I actually feel a bit guilty that I haven't and wont buy it because I got the deal on game pass for 2 months for £2 because I think it probably deserves more of my money for the amount I've gotten out of it and obviously some people worked hard on it. But then again ... not that guilty that I will buy it full price XD

I actually don't think you should feel guilty at all. The stated goal of Microsoft going forward is to develop games for gamepass to increase the subscriber base. They know full well sales would tank once they announced all their games would be on gamepass so you are actually doing what they want. They are playing the long game with gamepass hopefully it will work out for them.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I was happy it came to Game Pass because it let me play the game Day 1. If it hadn't, I would have patiently waited for a half-decent sale (like I do with almost every game I buy) and probably waited until it was 50% off and picked it up for $30. Even if that were a year from now, that would have been okay, I'm patient. If it got amazing reviews or something, I might have even been tempted to pick it up on sale for $40 if the circumstances were right.

I beat the game over the weekend, and I had a really fun time playing it. It's honestly everything I wanted it to be. Was it janky? Sure it was. Were the game physics and controls up to 2019 standards? Nope, but that was part of the charm. Was the open world gameplay as expansive as Assassin's Creed Odyssey? Not even close.

Would I have been happy with the game if I would have picked it up for $30 or $40 (because let's be honest, I don't pay $60 for anything these days)? Hell yeah. The campaign was about 10 hours which felt like just the right amount of time. There's some stuff I could still mop up, like those damn propaganda towers, etc but for the most part I feel like I'm "done" with the game until I decide I want to play it again. I had fun - and whether that fun was $0.01 per hour or $4 per hour has very little bearing on what I thought of the game or whether or not I regret playing it.

The game is on games pass... it'd be kind of silly to buy it for full price...

It's kind of similar to the sea of thieves situation, my friend bought it at launch for £45... I got it as part of a 1 month games pass trial...

While yes I'm paying for games pass now, I'd much rather pay £7.99 for a whole bunch of games, than £40-50 on 1 game I'm not even sure on.

Didn't pay $60. However as a game Pass subscriber CD3 was on my radar when I decided to join during SoT's launch. In other words, it influenced my GP sub, when they announced all MS titles would be day 1.

By this logic, fallout 76 should be hailed as '
game of the year' last year

I'll jump in head first with Sony exclusives as they're pretty much always amazing to play and they look gorgeous as well.

Crackdown 3 after having a play around with it from downloading on Game Pass...it's ok, but looks more like a launch title game back in 2013.

That's why I'm guessing they're putting their exclusives on there, as sales won't be too generous.

Oh and somehow I can't turn HDR on in the menu, even though it's switched on in my Xbox settings menu.
