Saw this thread and decided to dig up my old ass EGM2 magazine (1995!) and take a photo of this dude:

Guessed it right away! What a crazy suit he's rocking. Nice find!

what the hell....
...is that Ueda?..

Kojima. I didn't put a name to it because, well, he looks pretty much exactly the same.

This also goes for Goichi Suda - just imagine him with a mop-top and a Smiths T-shirt and bingo, young Suda.

Dammit! I wish I had saved the candid office photos of Squaresoft's old office pictures with Sakaguchi during FF7 developement.

Awesome thread though.

Since I scanned this one in myself:

rare-nintendo-the-start.jpg

...from this post: http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2007/05/gamesetpics_rare_nintendo_wher.php

This picture was taken on the first-ever signing of an outside software developer, Rare, to produce titles for Nintendo's VS. System, the NES-based arcade setup. So, from left to right, there are some people you may have heard of - Joel Hochberg of (Rare's U.S. business partner) Coin-It, Chris Stamper of Rare, and Nintendo's Frank Ballouz, Howard Lincoln, and Minoru Arakawa.

Man, there's a great picture of Peter M. and Bullfrog from about 1988, but

That about wraps it up for legacy!

This image was posted, and presumably scanned, by a GAFer (Grooveraider) in an old Daytona thread. It came from an old Japanese Daytona USA art book.

This is the Daytona USA development team at AM2, 1993:

Makoto Osaki (later directed Daytona USA 2, Outrun 2, and Virtua Fighter 5) is on the top left, Toshihiro Nagoshi (producer on Super Monkey Ball and the Yakuza games) is at the bottom center.

There's someone on GAF has awesome photos of Gum/npei Yokoi. Can't remember who it is though.

This picture was an unexpected surprise. The man to the left of Miyamoto is Mark Haigh-Hutchinson. I had the pleasure of working with him for a couple of years. He was a great person to get caught into a conversation with, and had a true passion for gaming.

I knew that he had worked at Lucasarts for a time, and was constantly pushing him for an anecdote from those days, being such a huge fan of Monkey Island, Sam and Max, Indy: Fate of Atlantis, and others. He was pleasantly surprised when I knew of an old artistic technique of taking pixel gradients, and animating the palletes to achieve a look of fluidity for things like waterfalls, or lava. His eyes widened and he described it as a "lost art" in these new days of 3D. :) He was equally enthusiastic, when I kept my SNES collection at work, to see that I owned "Metal Warriors," a rare sequel to Cybernator that some people he knew had worked on.

I believe this picture was taken when he had travelled to Japan to work directly with Nintendo on the "Shadows of the Empire" N64 game, during his time at Lucasarts.

Sadly Mark passed away a few years ago, and is sorely missed. His work was prolific for the industry, and at least stretched back all the way to the original classic "Paperboy," as well as a later favorite of his, "Zombies Ate My Neighbors."

It was a pleasant surprise to see him up on here today :)
