For years in the pages of Marvel Comics, struggling with multiple personalities and amoral inclinations, Marc Spector fights on against all odds as the cloaked avenger Moon Knight! We'll see what adventures come on Marvel Studios' 'Moon Knight"!

And the last surprise for fans was the announcement of a third show streaming on Disney+... She-Hulk!

In the comics, lawyer Jennifer Walters was transformed into a Gamma-powered Super Hero thanks to her cousin Bruce Banner, and backs up her sensational strength with her savage wit and confidence as She-Hulk! I love Kamala, can't wait to see her! Never read much Moon Knight but his first trade in Marvel NOW which was pretty cool. She-Hulk I'm glad is happening, I know there were rights issues that prevented Hulk from getting any more solo films so nice to see She-Hulk isn't caught up in that.

Actually She-Hulk is. They must have worked something out. I hope Mark Rufflo and Hulk make an appearance.

Considering the modern She Hulk I can't get excited for this one, and I fucking despise Ms Marvel so that's an incredibly easy skip for me, but Moon Knight I'm hyped for.

Daredevil and Punisher died for this? She-Hulk would have made for a better movie but I have low expectations for these Marvel TV ventures.

Now we wait to see if the focus will be on compelling storytelling or strong independent wommanz dunking on the patriarchy.

Can we please get this shit out of an MCU thread? Just for once?
These 3 announcements came from out of no where, I'm hyped for them all.
I recently saw one of those graphs that showed what studios owned what IP's and Hulk was no longer under Universal.

Like I said in The Mandalorian thread, I probably won't see any of these since I have no desire to get Disney+. But I am intrigued.

Ms. Marvel - I have never read any Ms. Marvel comic but I guess she is popular, since Marvel likes to put her front and center in everything. From what I've read her initial series was a seller but since then her comic series have floundered and Marvel has had to relaunch it numerous times to keep her relevant. Perhaps Kamala is a good a character but I've always had the sense that she was just a token Muslim minority that Marvel wanted to promote. Maybe the series will give her the push to make her mainstream.

Moon Knight - Marc Spector has always been an oddity to me. He's basically a Batman clone but with far more fucked up identity issues than Bruce Wayne ever had and his origin is tied to a mystical entity (an Eguptian god of Moon at that). Perhaps this will be a combination of Netflix's Daredevil with Doctor Strange.

She Hulk - Like Kamala, Jennifer Walters is one of those popular characters who can't seem to maintain a series. Despite that, I've always been a big fan She Hulk. And I definitely want the classic sexy She Hulk and not this modern one.

Does anyone know when the movie presentation will start for D23?
I have no idea if it's on the west or east coast in America.

Why do people hate Ms.Marvel? I only heard of her in casual conversation.

She Hulk could be amazing but the Hulk series in general is cursed it seems.

Disney+ still has no Uk plan in place, meaning even though I have more reasons to sub to this than Netflix, there’s no way for me to even do it...

So... That only leaves one other way...

I saw the title before, but forgot that Ms Marvel is now the muslim girl. In my head I was thinking of what is now Captain Marvel.
I wonder how ugly She Hulk will be? Theres no way Disney will let an attractive lady in a skin tight leotard run around.

Needs to be a giant black lady in my opinion.

Should be the opposite of Hulk. A giant ugly fat black woman that transforms into an athletic hot naked She Hulk with giant titties.

I mean, realistically Naomi Scott doesn't have big bewbs but she is sporting some nice cleavage in Aladdin.

She could be better if they gave her better writers. Right now her whole schtick is I am an inhuman, so that means I have to be a super hero. They never give her actual problems that make her wonder why she feels the need to be hero. She never really has her heroic call to arms. You can also repeat this process for her being Muslim. She isn’t allowed to have actual character growth.

In the 50 or so Ms. Marvel issues I've read, Kamala has:

-constantly battled with whether she should remain Ms. Marvel given how it affects her school work and relationships with her friends and family, Tony even has to explain to her when she's on the verge of a mental breakdown that it's okay to ease up on Avengers duty as she should prioritize her school work and relationships. A primary motivation for her remaining Ms. Marvel is that Jersey City doesn't exactly have a lot of options when it comes to superheroes, the book even lampshades how New York City is like the most secure place in the world given how many heroes are located there. Also, as much as it can stress her out a lot, she does often really enjoy superhero-ing and helping people
-gone through constant ups and downs with her family and friends. The only moment I didn't like was Bruno blaming her for his getting hurt. Josh was going to be released the following day anyway, and if Bruno had busted him out successfully all he would have accomplished was making Josh a fugitive. While Kamala was partially to blame for Josh getting arrested, she was not responsible for Bruno's short-mindedness and I hope a future issue finally has Bruno apologize for blaming her for his mistake (I apologize if this has already happened, I read the book through the nice hardcover trades that have about 12 issues each, so I'm behind)
-while I dislike the Civil War 2 tie-in as I felt the book suddenly getting that serious was too abrupt, it did make Kamala learn the flaws of pre-emptive force and no longer view Carol as this perfect hero who could do no wrong
-I don't know what you mean about the Muslim part. She's supposed to develop more as a Muslim? I'm not sure what that would entail. The book makes a good effort to make her and her family being Muslim just a natural part of their lives and nothing more, it's not trying to convert anyone (yet of course certain other people will still bitch about it shoving religion down their throats despite being them likely being a-okay when Nightcrawler's Christianity was handled pretty much the same way)

To be clear, I'm just disagreeing with you over how I felt the character has progressed, but I totally appreciate that you've actually read some of her stuff instead of being like a few people who just blindly hated the character despite having not read her at all as was evidenced on the thread back when Kevin Feige first said Kamala would be coming to the MCU eventually (one poster was all, "oh boy, I can't wait for some southern, redneck stereotype to show up and insult her religion!' and I was all, "yeah, uh one problem, nobody like that has ever appeared and the only people who teased Kamala for being Muslim were a few of her classmates which, SHOCKER, teenagers being insensitive, whoda thunk, and those classmates mature out of it anyway"). Hell, I know a lot of people stuck their nose up at the very idea of Gwenpool (I admit I was at least confused, what the hell does Gwen Stacy have in common with Wade?) and then even many of the naysayers who actually started reading it got what the book was going for and enjoyed it.

I don't mind it so much if people gave her book a shot and it just wasn't for them, but I don't much care for those who act like they can just write her off despite never giving her a fair chance. Don't judge a book by its cover, they say, and I maintain that rule. For example, if I did judge Kung Fu Panda by base appearances, I never would have given it a shot. Kung Fu Panda? Geezus, if Dreamworks can't even spend more than 5 seconds coming up with the title, what chance is there the movie will be good? But because people were saying it was worthwhile, I gave it a chance and found a great series that mixed drama and comedy well with kick-ass action and genuine affection for martial arts. Hell, to me Kung Fu Panda 2 is Dreamworks' best picture and Lord Shen is among my favorite animated villains ever. Glad I didn't let my blind assumptions get in the way.

As for the other person mentioning sales, yeah her physical sales are usually low, but Marvel Comics had made it clear she's one of their highest selling digital comics. If the book's primary demographic is within teens-30's, it's not surprising many of them prefer getting the digital version instead. The sales dipped primarily at that time because of the Civil War 2 tie-in. It's almost like people who follow a book don't like it when the crossover event feels the need to jam its way into every other ongoing series, and yet in spite of this DC and Marvel seem to never permanently learn this lesson. I think mini-series made to tie-in to a crossover are fine (IIRC DC's Infinite Crisis did this) but affecting so many other books has usually rubbed me the wrong way.

She-hulk is the funniest shit ever.

1. She is called she-hulk.
2. She is a lawyer and wears a suit.
3. She is green like the hulk, and wears a suit. Because she is a lawyer.

I rest my case.

I know any criticism of the MCU burns your soul but it's a valid complaint. Does anyone doubt this won't be some "Uber feminist" rant?

Sad that the Netflix show died for this crap. Hopefully Moon Knight is good, but considering it's Disney I highly doubt it.

Man my previous post literally called out people blinding judging a book by its cover, and this person has already deemed entire TV series "crap" based on a title and logo.

Bravo, you truly exemplified my argument.
I've read Willow's entire Ms Marvel run. I think it is crap. It is predictable, boring and has many of the flaws of current Marvel books.

I have no faith the show will be good. Sorry if that offends but I don't care. I'm not going to assume a show is good simply becuase it's MCU

I am fine with criticism as long as it's real criticism, not some bullshit blanket statement that makes no sense.
The person I mentioned said something about attacking the patriarchy but none of the MCU films have done that.

But you assumed it is crap. It's an assumption regardless.

Also, you read an entire run you disliked? ......why?
Yes I assume it will be crap becuase it's source material is crap.

I read the run becuase Marvel pushes Ms. Marvel as if it's some modern classic. It's not. It's a poor man Spiderman with an annoying fangirl instead of Peter parker

Which is a really worrying statement by the other person since patriarchy can be defined by government being controlled by men and that excludes women.

I would FUCKING HOPE that if patriarchy were to rear its ugly head that the MCU is against it. "Oh, I'm sorry Natasha, Wanda and Carol, you can't be in the Avengers, that would imply women should ever be allowed to have power of any kind. And remember, if you get married to some citizen rando, you better recognize him as the head of the family. Who fucking cares if you save the universe and all he's saved people is some money on used cars? A woman should know her place, what, it's not like marriage is supposed to be about equal partners coming together or something!"

But regardless, I highly doubt patriarchy would show up, this is a universe where a woman fought openly in major battles against German forces in WW2 and then helped lead the country's most powerful spy force. Outdated gender roles died much more quickly in the MCU than our reality so I don't know what Ichabod was babbling about.

Civil War was a shit crossover book with writers who couldn't agree on what the registration act technically even said, a ton out-of-character moments, an ending as subtle as getting slammed in the face by an elephant, etc. I heard the movie announcement and made no assumptions. Lo and behold, they removed the plot holes, wrote the characters far better, had a far superior ending, etc. It's my 5th favorite MCU film.

Assumptions are assumptions. I don't see them as anything else.

Never heard of Moon Knight. She-Hulk might be interesting. The female muslim superhero is going to be a hard pass.

When the bottom drops out of the superhero market, which it will given sufficient time and overexposure, how the hell will they adapt when they are banking so hard on this genre?

I bet you said that 20 years ago.
It's ok to hate super hero films. Just spend your time and energy on watching things you do like. Have you seen many films at the cinema this year? Have you supported many none super hero films to show Hollywood that you want .... other things to watch?

That "superhero fatigue" should be setting in any day now.

Wait, how much did the Marvel movies make at the box office just this year alone? Over $5 billion?!

Yep, any day now.

civil war the book was nothing like the movie. At all.

If your best defense is "well maybe they will change literally everything" than I think that is pretty damning evidence for how shitty an idea this is. I will stick with my assumption this will suck ass.
