Cerium is a HUGE Nintendo fanboy, Resetera is a Nintendo-centric forum at first and the staff is heavily biased toward it in return, to not upset their userbase. You'd be surprise at the shit you can get away with, just by wearing a Nintendo avatar.

I despise all fanboys (I forgive Steam fanboys <3), but I'm sure there's a special place in hell for the people who've been defending Nintendo those past 4 years.

I would say they are more of a Sony centric forum. Any time there is a positive MS thread the thread turns into a shit show on the first page.

They even had Emily Rogers doing pied piper'ing for them to bring all the Nintendo fans over as well. Hell, the OG color format was that of the Gamecube, not by accident.

I am a Nintendo fan, but certainly not a blind one, never been as unhappy with Nintendo as in the 2016-2019 period, due to the crazy amount of ports (also the damn BotW...), but before my perm at RE (with a Yoshi avatar!) I was also active in non-Nintendo threads and it was pretty similar from my observation for all consoles: You can criticise games all you want, but you cannot shit on developers (except Sonic Team) or press unless if it is about social issues. Granted, my perm is already quite a while in the past, but all the bans I see discussed here are of political nature, not indicating a preferential treatment of Nintendo.

There are way more Nintendo than both of them and not only that, but there are way more active than the rest on the first page in general. The most important being, the staff make sure they can get away with shit other people won't.

I have no idea about current ResetEra because I don’t go there, but I remember when GAF was totally Pro Sony-skewed and there were always a ton of members bagging Nintendo at the time and many people (including my OG account) copped bans for pushing back against it and calling it out when it was just pure trolling.

The way I figure it is those Pro-Sony members and mods had to go somewhere. So, I find it hard to believe that Era is a total Nintendo-protected zone now.

That's not fair. There are still plenty of good people over there and Yoshi is just calling it like he sees it. I actually don't agree with this. If you hang out in different corners of the internet and then someone throws you an Era link about a leak or something, you're probably not going to think anything of it beyond the information itself. Maybe you'll decide to sign up and check the place out every once in a while to get updates on game news and whatnot. If you never check off topic or threads that don't interest you, it's absolutely possible to not see the crazier side of Era and actually see people having legit discussions about video games.
I think the lack of notoriety the place has among large segments of the gaming community (you NEVER hear big streamers or Youtubers talk about era) actually helps it keep that kind of image for people that don't go seeking out how bad the site is.

Though it may not be like that forever. The ReseteraTakes twitter account is going to overtake the official Resetera account sometime early next year. Currently Era is your standard low-scale pariah that not enough people know about, but it would absolutely become a more known pariah if it continues on the pace its going. Either that or fall further into irrelevance, either one is an inevitability.

There's already people there I know of that are ecstatic over this for the sole purpose of making everyone there seem crazy. Dunno why, but I think it's pretty funny that someone who works in product marketing at ubisoft is on there agreeing with the nut jobs there, when they industry has seen games sell like arse when they release them as an all inclusive game.
