Square Enix Charging $60 for the Kingdom Hearts 2.8 on Xbox

its a new release and thats what it costs even on PS4 where its been out for a long time...

There is an actual KH3 demo on the store for free, so you're being disingenuous yourself right along with square being greedy...I would be more upset about the fact that 1.5+2.5 is 10 dollars less despite having 3 full remastered games instead of 1 remastered game and a short prelude to KH3.

That’s how much it launched for on PS4 isn’t it? Was it shitty when they did it there, too? Should I be outraged now if I wasn’t back then?

Gaming is so confusing now fuck me I’ll be playing chrono trigger again if anyone needs me.

Yup. Though right now you can buy the PS4 version in Amazon for less than $20.

Doesn't the Xbox have a version of "The story so far"? It is pretty much the only viable version to buy if you never played the franchise and wants to get into into. With that in mind, I'd never recommend that people buy the 2.8 package, only if you are die hard fan of the franchise, especially when the content it is so short.

Square Enix should fuck off with this, the KH 2.8 experience should be worth U$ 25.00 max. If you really want it so bad, go and buy a physical copy dirt cheap anywhere else.

That's not a friendly way of giving a taste of what the whole game will be like, It's like they're either not sure how the game will turn out to be so might as well get the sales or purchase numbers up from the fans or SE is as greedy as any other Developer who just want to see the world burn. I want demos to come back just so i can play the same level over and over again up until i can afford the game but this practice is not something i was looking forward to in all honesty

KH 2.8 is a Demo of KH3 now?

The price is dumb as it should be $20 but it ain't a "Demo" as the thread suggests.

Unless it is to entice Pro-Sony members to state why the PS4 is superior?

I’m just glad that we’re about 10 posts in and no one has said “disingenuous” yet. Whoever started that trend from their Words with Friends account needs to be kicked in the head.

More on topic, I’m confused as to what this offering is, exactly. I’ve found KH to be borderline incoherent, so I don’t know if this ‘story so far stuff’ would assist with my confusion or not.

get that money.

if you don't like the price, don't buy it. it's called voting w your wallet. if other people don't mind the price, then the market has spoken.

Yeah just so everyone’s clear: 2.8 consists of the full Dream Drop Distance game (originally on 3DS and a direct lead-in to KH3), the Fragmentary Passage mini campaign I guess you could call it (starring Aqua from BIrth By Sleep), and a movie recapping the events of one of the mobile games.

It’s a demo in the same sense that Final Fantasy X is a demo for X-2.

Sensationalist thread title. To keep the bite of the intended message, you can say "Kingdom Hearts 2.8, released years ago on the PS4, is full price on the recent Xbox One port."

Because you can call it a "prelude" all you want but it's basically a demo for KH3. That's all it's even been, and I played it on PS4.

Then you remember that it’s also got a full game (the remaster of the 3DS game) along with that “prelude,” right?

Which really should've been included on the 1.5/2.5 disc (along with the movie). They only made a "2.8" release in order to charge people for the KH3 preview.

Soooo that’s a yes, then. So why the unnecessarily provocative thread title?

No, because it is stupid for Square to charge $60 for a preview of a game that's been out for months. It's like Konami trying to charge people $60 for MGS Ground Zeros six months after MGSV came out.

It's not worth $60 IMO. But I think Kingdom Hearts is kind of crappy, so who am I to say?

Still, it isn't a demo of Kingdom Hearts 3. There is a full KH remaster there and other stuff. I'm not sure why you keep saying the package is just a demo.

Same price as PS Store, what an extorsion on both

It doesn't because only KH3 had a physical release, and Story So Far is only in physical media.

If Ground Zeroes came with a full remaster of MGS4 and a video summarization of Peace Walker, maybe.

Look, for what it’s worth I think $60 is too much for this too, but you know what you’re doing here and it’s dishonest.

Well since KH 3 comes to GamePass, meh. Well it's not like I am going to play it anyway...

They put KH3 on GamePass for free so people would play it and then need to pay $110 to understand the story.
I've heard, that story does not makes sense anyway. But it's not like I've done my research.

Why do you call a package that contains a full game a demo?

I played last year. Not worthy the money. As a KH fan, both the KH3 DLC and this Aqua game are no worthy for the money they're asking.

edit: OP should edit the thread tittle. He is talking about the Aqua game, not the proper KH3 demo with indeed is real. The Kingdom Hearts 3 DEMO is free.

Well, isn't it because KH3 has been added to Game Pass, and as the series is notoriously difficult to understand, a quick cash grab can be made by charging obscene amounts for the backstory?

I don't know why I'm saying this, as an Xbox player.

Game Pass is literally putting money back into my wallet because of its value (there, I feel better now.)

Gamepass actually made me buy a physical copy of Indivisible. Love the service and lets me try games without me or my wallet cry.

I feel bad for liking this series. All this milking made the series lose its charm in every possible way because the current team struggled to make good gameplay making everything else a lesser priority. 1 and 2 are the only great KH games.

Wait three months, get it for 25% off.
Wait six months, get it for 50% off.
Wait a year and get it for 75% off.

I bought 1.5 + 2.5 to try and support Square bringing more games to the platform, but holy hell, after playing KH1 final mix for 4 hours tonight I don’t know if I can do it.

The game gave me a blistering headache and I constantly felt like I was fighting with camera. I don’t know what is going on with this, no other game had made me feel this bad physically.

I got past
Wonderland
and then traversed to the second one and had to shut it off. Even the worst VR games didn’t leave me feeling as shitty as this game did.

I don’t know what’s going on with it, but its going to be painful to beat it if that’s what happens every time I play it.

KH 1 is garbage. KH 2 is the real deal baby!

Nah, Not paying money for a demo. Ground Zeros was a complete piece meal product and was only $20. $60 for a demo from a studio that took over a decade to make the game in question is clearly a company that is trying to recoup the losses from over that period.

Did the game even sell well? It practically dropped off the radar a month after release.
