Xbox has been named the official gaming partner of England’s national football teams. The multi-year partnership covers the Lionesses team, eLions esports team and the Three Lions team, as well as Wembley Stadium. Xbox has committed to a grassroots gaming campaign with The Football Association, creating exciting experiences for football and gaming fans across the nation.

Xbox and The FA have a shared vision of inclusivity in play. Xbox has long championed the importance of gaming being inclusive, accessible and safe for all, while The FA has a continued commitment to ensuring that all football participants in England have a great experience regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, ability, faith or age. The partnership has been launched with the message: “When Everybody Plays, We All Win”.

The partnership covers the men's, women's and esports teams, as well as Wembley Stadium and the St George's Park training ground. The partnership comes ahead of England's World Cup Qualifying game with Hungary this weekend.

That’s a bit of an understatement isn’t it? Biggest sport in the world by a landslide.

Wonder if this will mean the players can’t say they’re playing FIFA on PS in interviews etc now.
No chance can an FA deal dictate what the players say. They aren’t even paid for playing for the national team.

why not a big team like italy who just won the euros? what have england won in the last 50 years?
In terms of marketing England is the biggest team in the world. Sony did good though, they got Italy before the tournament when nobody thought they'd win. A team who's not star studded so wouldn't have cost huge money. And then they go and win the euros.

Lots of people had Italy as favourites. They are on a 34 game unbeaten run under Mancini and were on a 13 game win streak until they drew against Spain in the semi.

In terms of marketing I think England would be up there. Brazil is maybe the other one but they don't know if they are any good at really sponsorships.

France were 4 to 1. Belgium and England 7 to 1.

England 5/1

France 5/1

Belgium 11/2

Spain 13/2

Germany 7/1

Portugal 15/2

Italy 9/1

These were in the odds in Britain and Ireland pre tournament but I'm sure but Italy only ever won it once in 1968 when they hosted it.

Bookies are just idiots man. The odds change based on where the money is going. I don’t hold any stock in it.

And the money goes where peoples opinions go. The reality is Italy were not favourites in general and were behind a number of teams. In terms of fifa rankings Belgium were favourites.

they need to be more visible in football....
it's sad but this kind of move will probably give them 10x more brand recognition in Europe than any content
