I definitely think that DOOM 1/2's are the most influential, memorable, and iconic.

A lot of other titles have some cool and memorable enemies and monsters, but the entire roster doesn't have the same weight. Whereas with DOOM 1/2 the majority can see the entire roster in their mind almost immediately.

I think doom had a great variety of mobs, I also appreciated how you were able to dodge their projectiles - it made the gameplay feel more interactive then simply shooting them before they see you, you had to dodge and weave throughout the fights.

Serious Sam and Shadow Warrior have a humongous assortment of creatures.

Serious Sam is the best because it isn't focused in one theme (like Doom which is all about Demons), but has aliens, monsters, demons and robots. Great Bestiary.

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
Doom, by a very large margin.

Resistance

Yeah, I remember the first game, pretty sure it was the cheddar gorge level, there were this tall, lanky AF aliens (Grey Jacks) that would just sprint at you. They were terrifying. They just came out of nowhere and charged at full sprint.

Oh, how I'd kill for a remaster on PS5.

Doom and Doom 2, the original Doom engine games.

The remakes had some good and some terrible redesigns. The Cyberdemon in Doom 2016 might as well be the worst redesign of an original monster ever made, which becomes even worse considering the og Cyberdemon is one of the best looking monsters ever made.

The Splicers in Bioshock are my favorite. Technically they aren't monsters (they're superpowered junkies), but you mentioned Halo's regular enemies too alongside the Flood so I guess I can talk about them.

The Splicers have cool designs, and they could be intimidating or even funny depending on their level of craziness. The basic ones use guns and other melee weapons, while the other variants have their own unique movesets (fire, bombs, etc.). Taking on an individual Splicer is easy, but when they gang up on you it's a different story especially on higher difficulties.

The teleporting ones are pain in the ass. Sometimes you'll waste some ammo on them, and when you try to get closer to hit them with the wrench they disappear.
The bomb-carrying ones are annoying too. They throw bombs while running away like chicken, but you can use telekinesis to make the fight easier.
The Spider variant is the most interesting of the bunch. The way they stick to walls and move around using their hooks was really creepy in 2007. They fight using these hooks, and they can throw them at your face. I imagine they would be scary in VR.

You know.. If they're really making a new Bioshock, I personally hope they go back to Rapture. I liked the enemies in Infinite, but Splicers are more interesting and they could be made even better using today's AI tech.

I’d rather take a new, unique setting again, but I wouldn’t mind a Bioshock 1 remake/reboot either. The game is almost 15 years old.

Doom has the most iconic ones but I prefer Duke Nukem 3D's monsters. You can't beat the Battlelord.

Cacodemon is my favorite monster of all time. Look at that murderous cute little face as he approaches you flying.

This followed by Lost Soul. The only flaming skull that bleeds and feel pain(but does not feel the pain of killing his brothers).

Recently i liked the monsters in doom 2016 and shadow warrior 2.

I vaguely remember painkiller having some nice creatures as well.

Grunts in halo are just cute as hell.

Blood Zombies for me are the most fun to shoot in sprite FPS, the combination of sound when they scream and the head blown off clean that pinball everywhere is magic, the TNT loud as hell BOOM sure helps too
