You just never know with Nintendo whether you're about to get an E3 2006 or an E3 2008. Sometimes they're quiet because they've got nothing to show, sometimes it's because the stars have aligned and they're about to drop a solid title per month for a whole year. I love the chaos though.

This is honestly what would excite me most (no pun intended). Now that Nintendo finally has a platform capable of (relatively) realistic graphics, it's time for them to revive some of their franchises like Pilotwings and Wave Race that exist explicitly to show off new tech.

I don't doubt him after he named the day of the Switch 2 unveiling. Many started clowning on him a few hours before it went live saying Nintendo would've announced the video at least a day in advance, then Nintendo shadow-dropped it, just like he said.

What's somewhat funny about this comment, is that back when Super Mario Bros 2 on NES released (the US version), being able to play as the princess was a big deal and all of us kids loved it.

That game (pretty that was the default Mario Bros 2 outside Japan) is so shite. I didn't even like it as a kid. It was like the ugly middle child between the original and the god-like Mario Bros 3.

I wasn't a fan and still not. It is very different for obvious reasons, and having the four playable characters was a nice change.

Do you work for Nintendo? Because that is a very realistic list.

The only thing that I'm iffy on from that list is third party support, which has been the weak link for the Switch 2. We know we're getting COD, but I can't see Forza being on the Switch 2. Since the remake of Halo MCC isn't coming to the Switch 2, I would love to see them release the MCC on the console. Another Microsoft game that would be perfect for the Switch 2 is Age of Empires. I could see that getting a Switch 2 port.

I know this isn't what you mean, but there's a based and redpilled patch on 3DS that fixes pretty much all of the issues with that game and makes that the definitive version of the game thus far.

All of these predictions are believable individually, but, realistically, we're only going to get a fraction of them in this Direct. So, far example, we could get a 3D Mario teaser or a Smash title announcement, but I'd be shocked if Nintendo squeezed both into the same Direct, even if both are in development (which they almost certainly are).

I do think Nintendo are going to announce some games that are a little farther out than usual, just to reassure consumers that the Switch 2 is a safe investment with the looming price increase, but they also don't want to needlessly cannibalize future hype. A Smash or 3D Mario announcement alone would destroy social media, but there probably isn't enough oxygen to get maximum impact out of both at once.

Disagree. Of course a remake is going to look "better", but the mistake of the 3DS remake was making everything more colorful and brighter in many places, getting rid of the dark tones that made OOT feel like dark fantasy.
