Anyone heard the new Aeroplane CD?

Are you talking about In Flight Entertainment? It's just a compilation of different artists with one new Aeroplane track (that isn't anything special). You can listen to the whole disc on Soundcloud. Last year's We Can't Fly was okay at best; the dude will never ever ever top "Whispers" anyway.

If you want something genuinely excellent that's in the same vein as Aeroplane, get the new Mungolian Jet Set album, Schlungs. Kathy Diamond's collab with Max Skiba, The KDMS, is another big one to watch for. Their disc is out early next year.

Aeroplane split. Magician is producing not sure what the other guy is doing besides releasing monthly mixes (which are amazing).

^ Makes so much more sense now!
I kept reading Aeroplane mentioned as two people, one person, a group etc and was so confused as I had read "The Magician" was half of Aeroplane.

I like both their seperate work, Aeroplanes mixtapes are ahead by a tiny bit mind you!

Aye some of it can get alittle be too kooky for my tastes.

Still on the hunt for Halloween mixtapes, the new gottadancedirty ones not bad.

This song! Dont know if its because ive heard it so many times after a good night out or what but whatever!
Sometimes I realise - Engineers (Sasha Invol2ver)

Oh and more at DJgaf but is there a program (free?) that can organize songs by BPM?
Ive got alittle idea of asking a few friends to pick 3 of their fav songs from this year and making a playlist/mix from it but well there will be Prog-house-DnB-Brostep,Dubstep etc so quite the mix. The best thing I could think of was to just put it in BPM order but anyother suggestions would be good!

Virtual DJ analyzes tracks and gives you the BPM... also you can look up the tracks in Beatport, since it shows BPM/key for the different tracks on there...

Give Mixmeister (Studio or Fusion) a try:

Nothing like spending four hours making a mix tape, which in fact is really just a bunch of songs crossfaded in and out at certain points to then find out I cant fucking save it ;(

Just wanted a nice mix to have at my first ever "thanks giving" meal is that too much to ask!!

That is the worst!

Yeah it sucked. Managed to save one this time so I'm just putting it on soundcloud now.

It could be the worst thing youve all ever heard if you plan to check it out but this is akin to someone being happy they beat World 1-1 in Mario haha.
It is pretty much bonkers.

I like it, good first go. Here are my thoughts: The two Girl Unit tracks and the Jamie XX track belong on a different mix or at the end. They are my favorite part for sure but the majority of your listeners will be geeked about everything else I would imagine. Also, if you are making this for friends that are just getting into the music you might want to mix out of the songs quicker to hold their attention. For kids like us long tracks are fine! I really like your first blend of the two girl unit tracks. Great job!

Thanks for the listen and input :)

The friends are all into the music, its taking three or so songs I know they like and trying to mix them all hence the madness of it aha
Ones is Sasha and The Rice twins
Ones Girl Unit, Chase and Status and Skrillex
Ones Joker and falls under chase and status and Skrillex
The rest are songs I love (Stardust/Daft/JamieXX etc)

It was fun to try learning. The mix out comment is a good point actually as I out of habit would skip to the end of the song to sort out a place to link them, complelty forgetting the length! Something that didn't drop till listening to it in the car!

Going to have ago with some very similar artists like JamieXX/Jamesblake/Burial and so on and see how that gos next attempt!

I got another burner of a mixtape that has been tickling us here in the office for the last couple days. Starts off with a Morris track and never lets up. This mix captures my current tastes perfectly.

Ultrademon - #Occupy Mixtape

Seapunks unite and get your weekend started right! Coral Records very own Ultrademon AKA Fire For Effect (when producing) was more than gracious to lace us up with a brand new mixtape of sweet, sweet house. Hopefully you all read Pictureplane’s write up on the Seapunk movement some weeks back and got up on all of this liquidy goodness. But enough yammering from me. I’ll let Ultrademon speak on the whole Seapunk movement and the mix.

I get asked a lot how to define “seapunk” is it a (micro-)genre, fashion, statement, ideology, etc. I’ve never really thought of it as any of these things, I view "seapunk" as an entity that we can summon to help propagate the collective manifestation of better future that we all share. #Occupy mixtape is a collection of works that I would define as “seapunk” music that moves from low-key jams by some of the main seapunk players, then into the depths with house/techno/feelgoodforever ;)

This thing is seriously one fuckin’ good time and chock full of all sorts of exclusive and forthcoming tracks for the Seapunk stronghold. One of which is from the forthcoming EP, Soaked which is a split between Api and Papoose. That EP will be for pre-sale on Monday, October 31st via Coral’s bandcamp and will be shipping out on 11/11/11. Get some E and your favorite people in the world and just vibe out to this. All teal everything.

1. Morri$ – Rashida Jones
2. Api – G-Spot (Forthcoming Coral Records)
3. Buck UK – Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder (Fire For Effect Remix)
4. Norrit – Only Me And U
5. Olin – Time Again (Forthcoming Coral Records)
6. Blumfeld, DJ Koze & Steve Bug – Tausend Tränen Tief (Loverboy Mix)
7. Simon Baker – Grey Area (Burnski & Robert James Remix)
8. Benoit & Sergio – Let Me Count the Ways
9. Pryda – Remember
10. Patrick Lindsey – Get Up & Bounce
11. Kenton Slash Demon – Sun
12. DJ Agent 86 – So Hot (Fromage Disco Is Soooo Hot Remix)
13. Cut Copy – Blink and You’ll Miss a Revolution (Das Moth & Kenji Takimi Remix Instrumental)
14. Acid Jacks – Acid Hits All Night Long
15. Greg Enemy – Anything (Remix)
16. Doctor Dru & Adana Twins – Juicy Fruit
17. Chris Malinchak – Another Day
18. Lifelike – So Electric

I will check that out in the morning aslong as its not on soundcloud (work blocked)

Made another mix, tried to keep it short and worked on faster mixing in and outs.
I had a fair few other tracks in mind for it but they wouldn't play ball with my limited abilities.
Hopefully its atleast bearable :)

The other guy was either Sampha (Who is amazing you should hunt down his Boiler Work stuff. Live PA w/ singing!) or his band. He is performing with Sampha tonight.
