New info about Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Kingdom Hearts 3D

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Versus XIII said:
- Nomura recently did the latest check of the game. The visual expression capability has improved from the trailer that was released last year.
- The game has a mix of real time and Visual Works pre-rendered CG. The ratio is 7 real time to 3 pre rendered.
- The scene where Noctus and Stella meet for the first time has been made into a pre-rendered scene. This is because it's an example of an area where adding player control would not have a big effect.
- Square Enix won't be holding an event ala last year's January press conference this year. However, Nomura said that he'd like to make some sort Versus related announcement/showing this year, although he can't say when or where.
- The next time we see Versus XIII, we will get a look at it being controlled on actual hardware.

KH3D said:
Regarding Kingdom Hearts 3D, he said that the game has an ending that will be unconventional for the series. He also revealed that the original ending that had been planned for the game was not approved.

Of course, KH3D will have a secret ending. As one would expect, it will have shocking developments that will connect to the next entry in the series.

My post from the other thread, concerning Versus.

eugh, fucking hell
he should just gtfo until they're confident enough to release a demo for it, they been dribbling media out for years and it's really infuriating now

And now they say the stuff they did reveal (that ingame scene with Noctis and Stella) has been changed to a prerendered one? lol.

Unsure of how to take this.

Original ending lead right up to the beginnings of Kingdom Hearts 3, but Nomura knew there was no way that he could begin to even think about developing Kingdom Hearts 3, so instead something else happens that leads to another handheld entry.

Or something.

I'm not being serious.

Maybe Disney had something to say about it.

Lol Versus is so lol worthy at this point. I mean we are still at the point where they are saying "yeah maybe we will show something". No wait we are finnaly at "yeah now we will be able to prive this is actually a console game". This saga has just been hilarious. I doubt it even comes out in 2012. But I guess the fact that they will sometime this year show that it is running on actual hardware means its coming. How long did XIII take to come out after we actually saw the real game?

More useless news at this point for Versus none of this matters until we see the game again in my opinion like this is an action game how can it possibly be taking this long.Think it's time for Square to ask Eidos how to get stuff done in a timely manner.Sadly its not just this team as well its all squares teams even FFXIV, they can never hit a content deadline.

The pre-rendered vs. rendered doesn't really matter. They looked real nice on XIII, and since there's a healthy mix, things will be fine. There's no confirmed 360 version either, so they don't have to worry about the storage capacity of the DVDs to bring things down either, or giving you the terrible compression that that 360 version of XIII suffered from.

Either way, it's good to know and keep knowing that the game is happening, and i'm so ready to have my mind blown by KH3D.

In the original end of Kingdom Hearts 3D, Sora defeats Xehanort 3.0 and then wakes up. He's on a desk, "Stop sleeping" Mr. Xehanort shouts who is actually Sora's high school principal.

If only it didn't leak...

I don't know what to think about the comment regarding the ending. Does that mean that he will have to add more games to explain on the ending that will be approved?

You hope to make some sort of announcement this year? Really? That's all you can say? This is ridiculously pathetic.

lololol, what kind of logic is this. make all the cut-scenes prerendered then why don't you. we've seen nothing but bullshit from this 'game'.

(probably because they don't know at this point)

- The next time we see Versus XIII, we will get a look at it being controlled on actual hardware. (Again I'd hope so at this point)

I think that means the player never has control in that area, and therefore it would never need an "in-game" version if it was only seen in cutscenes.

At this point has Versus XIII exceeded the development time of XIII? I'm counting five or six years of development for an offshoot. Rather amazing in a horrifying sort of way.

You know if you think about it now, the fact that its still called Versus 13, it makes more sense they are still stringing along 13-2 and will probably end up releasing 13-3 by the time Versus releases. Keeping the 13 brand alive. I dont see a jump to FF 15 happening any time soon.

what I don't get is why they are wasting their time and resources redoing the cutscenes that were already finished and looked perfectly fine :p if they are approaching everything like this there must be a lot of waste during this game's development, no wonder...

It wasn't REALLY in development until XIII was finished or almost finished, though, right?

Spiriti Within > Rahxephon

I still wuv u^

You mean the movie were the guy lets in ghost aliens into their city knowing that they already have problems controlling them and that these ghosts have have a tendency to grow in numbers at random. And of course these ghosts kill everyone.

And his reaction is "My god what have I done"

And the movie were scientists don't actually act like scientists.

Yeah no.

To believe Versus XIII was announced before the release of the Wii and its successor platform will also be released before the game is...

Shit, we've almost gone through an entire console generation for most of these companies and the game still isn't out. D:
