Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer |OT| Rich, deep online role playing

Sound advice. Exactly what I'm after.

Ta.

At the moment, I'm kinda playing the same as the single player game. Trying to use everything (weapons/mods) with the highest damage ratio, and just powering through - mostly from a large distance as I'm a bit snipe-happy.

Seems to be working so far, but I feel I'm being a bit too basic, and I'm trying to get accustomed to not having my lovely Sniper-Rifle Concentration Mod V.

It's been a while since I've played the other classes. I think I'm gonna get hurt tonight, lol.

Phalanx seems like very nice support gun on Geth Infiltrator. Using GPS X + Phalanx X vs Cerberus on Gold, and even Atlas goes down pretty fast with Phalanx spamming. Carnifex X is worse due to slower fire rate and less ammo in clip.
Damn, I want Geth Vanguard. That would be ultimate melee killing machine. Melee build on Geth Inf is still very dangerous if you are away from squad and using that build alone.

Just picked this up during the recent Amazon sale. Played my first couple matches since playing the demo prior to release. It took several tries to get into my first match as anytime I'd go into a lobby people would back out. Eventually I found a match as a level 1 and did decent as a Human Sentinel. Although I was still last on the scoreboard. :p Then second match with a different group and I get booted before it even starts. On Bronze... Awesome. All in all though it's still as fun as I remember from the demo. Any tips for a noob?

I was in the same boat till yesterday evening.

I suggest you do what I do, just keep at it. Play the team game (don't run off, that's bad news when starting fresh), and when it comes to people backing out or booting, don't take it personal.

Like I said above, I've only played 3 matches total (would have been 4 but my xbox decided to freeze on me at wave 9 with a really good team).

Yup, my gamertag is Rodrik.

Yeah, I wasn't pissed. Truthfully, it was more amusing than anything else. I plan on giving every class its fair chance before deciding on what to play regularly.

My advice is to build a good supporting class which is great for team dynamics. An engineer is fantastic for this. Infiltrators can be as well.

For gold however I use my asari adept which I feel is the best class in the game.

That geth grenadier build looks fun. Now if only I can unlock the character

So is it a better idea to save up and buy the spectre packs or stick with the lower tiered bundles as a low level player?

Don't bother with Spectre packs until Gold is your go to play mode (you get 70-75k per game). Stick with recruit and get the first few weapons to X level and the first set of mods then once you've got everything that you think you need move on to Veteran. Truthfully, there isn't really anything all that good in Veteran spare a couple of guns, might as well go for Spectre after that.

FINALLY, I got myself a Carnifex. Thing is pretty sweet, but it's lacking in ammo. Also, I no longer have 200% CD. Not a big deal though, now to grind for levels.

Veteran does have some good weapons yeah, i wish i had a better rank for Phalanx than 1 since spectre packs rarely have uncommon weapons.

It's also the better choice to stack on consumables when jumbo packs aren't available.

Ok I'm trying that Geth Grenadier right now.

Edit : Why is my Falcon not shooting one grenade on two ? WTF is this shit ?

Lag kills the gun. Shoots blanks frequently. I tried it too and it's pretty worthless unless you're host. I tried using the scorpion instead, but that gun just isn't up to snuff for that build especially on gold.

Will do. Thanks. :)

im getting a bit worn out. Im not playing to level players anymore, im playing simply to get cash and to upgrade my carnifex/black widow and to get a paladin.

Ive realised that my asari adept is my go to character for gold. Silver is getting very comfortable now and im constantly finishing on top of my group in silver and gold, however i feel i REALLY need to upgrade my weapons and i keep getting harpoon guns or striker assault rifles..

ill keep playing for a little while more but i must admit it is wearing a bit thin.

I love the carnifex. Ive got it at 6 rounds per mag then 33 otherwise. its more than enough. On silver if you use stasis + carnifex then its 1 shot per head kill. On gold it takes 3 unless you have cryo ammo.

I either need the paladin or i need to get this gun to a carnifex X.

Falcon X is a crowd control weapon. I've tackled 4 Phantoms in later rounds of Gold at once and killed them all at once with a Gethfiltrator thanks to the Falcon's stun locking ability.

Phantoms tend to go into dodge/evade mode quite a bit if you lay down enough damage on them, and the AE nature of the weapon combined with the hit stun effects pretty much kept them constantly stunned or dodging.

You can kill crowds of almost anything with that gun, except for heavy armored units. But then again these days my groups always tend to have one heavy hitting sniper that gravitates towards the elite targets naturally anyway.

I've really come to love the Justicar. It's amazing at dealing with phantoms, since baiting them into a warp specced bubble is easy when they're close, and when they're far, just spam a few reaves onto them, wait a few seconds, and watch the points rack up. Also love putting the Disciple on it at least on small maps like Glacier. Thematically appropriate and works great! Might be my favorite class.

I also tried the Shotgun Geth Infiltrator. With a Claymore X, and armor piercing ammo I was taking out ~80% of a gold Atlas's health with a single shot to the canopy. Works pretty well on phantoms, although the single shot makes it a bit risky. Great fun as well though. I'll probably give the GPS another shot, but I just really don't like the feel of that gun for some reason.

I'll be curious to see how many phantoms went down, given how dense they were in Gold matches. I'd bet I killed a couple hundred myself this weekend.

I really wish the Vanguard wasn't so busted when played off host. Their general reputation for being played horribly by idiots makes it near impossible to get a random group together when you host, most people see the vanguard, and that I didn't set up Geth/Gold/White and leave. Makes me sad, because when you can a full group, with at least one Biotic who can paint targets with warp or reave, it's incredibly fun to play.

Sad to see that the Equipment packs are gone, but at least I got close to 100 of everything I need, now it's time to make sure I use them as sparingly as possible.

Finally have every weapon at level X except the 3 resurgence weapons and ultra rares! Not really sure how that happened when I haven't even maxed more than 3 character classes (and as a result only had to deal with 3 repeat gold cards total) but I hope I start getting more character customizations.

Feels good to have done this without ever spending money on a pack.

I would take a guess and say the Premium Veteran pack will return; I want more Premium Spectres packs D: been saving up for this week's pack. For the last week I didn't buy that many JE packs because I had a lot of equipments to begin with (210+ thermal/survival ops, ~180 rockets, ~150 medi-gels).

I played in this really laggy WGG earlier this morning, just so bad. All I was doing was putting out decoys, couldn't do anything else, oh well :\

I want that premium veteran pack back. I still need to fill out a lot of uncommon weapons and attachments. Premium Spectre packs just take so much grinding if you don't play gold.

Was this posted?

A source at Electronic Arts has let me know a bit of information concerning a future DLC pack for Bioware’s Mass Effect 3! Entitled the “Rebellion” and includes a bevy of ridiculously awesome stuff!

The “Rebellion” Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons as well as equipment, consumables, and six new classes: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard.

Included are two new maps: “Firebase Jade’s” jungle reservoir & Firebase Goddess on Thessia

In-game reinforcements have three new weapons along with equipments/consumables

And the biggest surprise, 4 new classes: Vorcha Soldier & Sentinel, and Phoenix Adept & Vanguard

Sorry, I got the news from Raptr news feed, i'll try to get a link but I though this was already known and was asking for confirmation

Also, about the phoenix thing

Oddly enough, I was told that there would also be Quarian Engineers and Infiltrators, but those classes are already in the mix. I can only assume and hope they meant Turian and it was a simple error in writing! Needless to say, I’m a sucker for Vorcha, and getting to roam around the already solid maps with them should be a blast! Not to mention that mysterious “Phoenix” class!

Fake Edit: Found a link

Edit : Vorcha were the next logical race but they aren't in ME3 right ?
They have a cameo as part of Aria's quest (Apparently Vorcha lead the Bloodpack, not Krogan. For whatever reason. Anyway...). It stands to reason that they are all over Omega, whenever that DLC will come out.

Oh yeah, I remember than scene. It was like 30 seconds short though

I hope phoenix isnt some kind of alien bird race. :lol

Although it would be pretty weird of them to introdude a new race from a multiplayer pack.

Apparently the Indra has been introduced as an Ultra-Rare. Maybe it's a hoax? It's definitely a piece of shit?
