To the designers in here

Anyone else feel that there should have been ligature with the r and f Surface? Seeing as it's their logo/brand for the tablet and all some flair would have been nice, and I just kept staring at how close they kerned the two together.

With that annoyance out of the way, that tablet is hot. Glad to see the Zune team being able to design other things, I hope they do the design work for the next Xbox.

It seems that the responses in this thread are a tad overly positive.

I am not sure this renders the iPad "dead." I don't get the sense this has any hope of rivaling the iPad in units sold through to users or in profit.

Pretty fucking cool. Nailed the strategy of the device, in my opinion. Completely targeting businesses for when they upgrade into the next Windows life cycle. I'm guessing they'll try to get current WinXP businesses to skip Win7, so they'll be tablet ready.

This really is an excellent business solution. Laptop and tablet all in one. Adding USB seems so stupidly simple but should have a major impact on usability.
